Spreading some positiveness for the guys out there who are reading the boards. I was sleeved Jan 12th... officially down by my surgeons scale 80 pounds. I never had any issues after surgery with anything ...no pain. I'm able to eat anything I want but of course in lower amounts.
Here is what my plan has been so far
    - no fried foods for months now
    - no sugar
    - no soda, no beer! nothing carbonated...
    - no/very little carbs..NO bread..no Pasta no sweets of any kind
    - lots of lean steak, baked fish, grilled chicken, and ground beef. Chili is good too and so is beef Jerky
    - Lots of crystal light for when I'm tired of Water
    - Muscle Milk Protein Shakes - vanilla is the best to me
    - Pure Protein shakes as a change up - Cookies n cream is the best to me
    - Light cheeses as Snacks..string cheese
    - Atkins Protein Bars that are at least under 200 cals each
    - sugar free lifesavers are a great for when you want a "sweet"
    - My sleeve really likes wheat thins for some reason
All this with taking my Vitamins in the morning ...most of them are in Gummy form.
Thought I'd give some guys out there some info of whats working

Lilee84 got a reaction from Liberated Sleeve in Healthy And Perfect Portion Vending Machine Snacks?
Impossible! That's what I thought , but I went down to my office vending machine anyway which, since I work at a college, is usually filled with typical unhealthy Snacks most college students live off of. I was hoping to find something relatively healthy since I didn't have time for Breakfast, so imagine my surprise when I found this (Protein, and 1g of carb. The best part is, the portion size is PERFECT for people like us! It filled me up and I don't feel like I wasted food! Must find these in my local grocery store!

I got into a pair of sz 10 pants that have been hanging in my closet for 2 yrs and I maybe wore them 3 times before I out grew them last time that may seem small but I'm only 5' so I would like to eventually be in a 4-6. I am weighing less now than I have weighed in years. I have lost 30 since I began the vsg journey and 21 since surgery which was 7 weeks ago today. This morning I was 173 goal is about 135.

It's FFFC time! And this week's FFFC will be voted on by your fellow VSG'ers to see who's got the most unique/creative/scandalous (in a good way!) confession! Your confessions can be food/sleeve related or not, so let's hear it! What's your dirty little secret of the week? ETA: We'll be voting Monday so you have the weekend to get your confessions in.
    Here's mine:
When my sons father (I affectionately refer to him as Spermy... Short for Spermy McDonor ) came and dropped our son off on Sunday, I purposely made sure that I had showered, blow dried my hair, put on fresh makeup and a fresh spritz of his favorite perfume so that when he saw me in my slimmer form and form fitted clothes, he'd feel a sharp stab in his gut and realize what a moron he is for 1) being such a prick and 2) calling me a fat effing biatch a few weeks ago. I don't ever want him back, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy torturing him a bit I know my plan was a huge success when he did a double take when he saw me and lingered just a moment too long when he was kissing our son goodbye.
    It feels good.

Last weekend I went out with my husband and in-laws. I picked up a green tank top to wear because of St. Patrick's Day, and I bought it without trying it on.
When I put it on later, I learned that it was showing off a lot of my breasts. My nipples weren't in danger of making an appearance, but it was a LOT of cleavage. I don't normally show cleavage. I wore the shirt anyway.
My husband didn't say much other than to ask if I was sure since it was a lot more than I usually show off.
When I first arrived, my father-in-law introduced me to an old friend of his and the friend's wife. The wife was giving me a look like I was incredibly loose. I started to feel a bit uncomfortable and started crossing my arms in front of me, but I stopped when I realized what I was doing. It wasn't covering anything, and it was stupid. Who cares what people think?
I went dancing and had fun, and I never worried about what I was showing off.
It's been a week today, and my husband and in-laws are still talking about my shirt and all the men who were appreciating my shirt last weekend. My husband makes comments to me when we are alone, and his comments are appreciative. My in-laws mostly comment about the people looking. I don't respond.
And yes, I do plan to wear the shirt again. Frankly, the women from Survivor show more cleavage. I think this was more remarkable to my husband and in-laws because I don't usually show that much.

oh and today I went to get 1 pair of capris for the summer and size 16 was too big so I tried on 14's and they fit. OMG I screamed, danced and praised God. The ladies in the stall next to me were all laughing, so I went back out and dropped almost $100 in clothes just because I now fit in size 14's =)

I think I am going to say I started with a liquid diet including some high Protein drinks to get the ball rolling. Then I started to change my lifestyle by eating Protein first (at least 70grams a day), then veggies, then carbs and by eating smaller portions. Cutting out sugar and carbs as much as possible and by increasing my Water intake to at least 64 ounces a day. Lets not forget working out and walking 30 minutes a day. A total lifestyle change.
Thats not lying but not telling them everything.

This is the rant and rave section so please don't flame me ...
Of all the words we use in this forum that are specific to being sleeved or common terms in weight-loss discussions, "lose" is probably the most often used.
To Lose - To be deprived of, or cease to have or retain.
Loose - Not firmly or tightly fixed in place.
It just drives me bonkers to see people constantly misspelling lose, "I can't wait to loose 100 lbs!" AAAARGH!!!! wrong. Clothes are loose, nuts and bolts are loose, a dog can get loose from his leash, but you LOSE weight, you will LOSE inches. It is called The Biggest LOSER, not the Biggest LOOSER. hello.

No offense but why would you even think about taking diet pills if you went through with the surgery?? Diet pills are something that I am sure most of i us tried BEFORE we thought about Bariatric Surgery. I wouldnt recommend taking any diet pills with this surgery and im sure most of the rest of the people who have actually been sleeved (i am not until this summer) would agree.

Let's share the warm fuzzies and see if we can't get everyone feelin' pretty good!
I want to know, what's the most positive experience you've had since getting sleeved? It could be a compliment you've received or an NSV you've never expected... What's one positive experience you've had that has really made you cheese from ear to ear?
Here's mine: Friday night I went into the gas station where I used to stop every morning for my coffee and cigarettes. I haven't been in there since New Years when I quit smoking. When Bobby, the gas station owner who I've known for about 5 years, saw me his jaw dropped! He knew me pre-pregnancy when I was a size 14, and has watched me balloon to a size 24 since I got pregnant in 2010. The look of appreciation on his face and his kind words made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside

Lilee84 got a reaction from CVWillis in The Scale Is Broken! A Story About Stalls...
I wanted to take a moment to share my experience with stalls, because I see a lot of people getting discouraged because of them and that's simply not necessary and really bad for your self esteem.
I was sleeved 1/20 - over the first 4 weeks I lost 40-freaking-pounds! Amazing! I was so excited and thought to myself "At this rate I'll be at goal by Easter!" And then, about half way through my 4th week something sad happened. My scale broke! I mean, it must have been broken because it kept saying 237 every-single-time I stepped on it, so SURELY it must have been broken, right? Wrong. I was stalled. I'd read the posts, I'd done my research, I knew it was possible but like most I thought "HA! Not me!"
For the next 2 1/2 weeks I analyzed every bite I put in my mouth, I doubled up my sessions with my trainer, I increased my Protein and fluids, to no avail! A week after my stall started, the scale still would not budge! Seriously, it's digital, how could it be broken? Maybe I somehow saved my last weigh in and it was just showing me that # every time I stepped on. Maybe? No. Maybe this was it. Maybe 40lbs was all I was meant to lose? No. Maybe I'm just built differently and the sleeve isn't going to work for me? No! It was a stall! A point at which the weight temporarily stops coming off and the scale stops moving. A time for my body to try and play catch up after the havoc wreaked on it for the previous 4 weeks.
Two 1/2 weeks after my stupid stall started, I noticed something - I was getting a LOT of compliments! I mean, sure people had been commenting before my stall but now, now people I NEVER talked to were commenting how good I was looking and what a great job I was doing. Surely they must be mistaken, I haven't lost ANY weight in the last 2 1/2 weeks. They're crazy. To prove it, I took a picture.
As I sat at my computer making my little collage so I could show them just how crazy they were, a gasp escaped my mouth when I added the last picture. Could it be? Surely it wasn't possible! I am the EXACT same weight that I was in picture #2, a fact that I was painfully aware of, but something was different. I actually LOOK thinner! Amazing! And to think I spent the previous 2 1/2 weeks silently stressing because the scale wasn't budging! The whole time while my weight wasn't shrinking, my waist was!
So to all of you out there stressing over stalls my message is this - Just because your weight isn't shrinking, doesn't mean your waist isn't. Just keep doing what you're doing and you will be successful - don't sabotage your success just because your scale is temporarily broken

Haha! I've been meaning to post that every time I see his/her name pop up. Nothing's adding up. They had surgery 6 weeks ago and are already in a size small? The profile pic is of an obviously NOT overweight person. No profile info... Nothing but grammatically incorrect questions that appear to be designed to gain sympathy - most of them anyway. And obviously very uneducated about VSG in general.

The only person I refuse to tell is my sons father, and mostly because it's none of his GD business. Although I will admit, when he picked an argument with me a couple of weeks ago and was reduced to calling me a fat effing biatch, all I could do was smile and think to myself "Not for long sucker!" - Never engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed person - they get backed into a corner and have to call names to feel good about themselves...
Most people at my work know about my surgery, all of my friends and family know, and I openly discuss it on my FB. I'm not ashamed, but if there's someone I didn't tell it's probably someone I don't care about anyway. I surround myself with people who love and support me and show everyone else the door. My feeling is that if there's someone in your life that doesn't support you, they're not worth your time. Nobody needs that kind of negativity in their lives.
