  1. Following you soon in March! Good luck, keep us posted!
  2. Congrats! My surgery is in a month and I cannot wait to go....please post about your experience, I am also seeing Dr. Kelly so will be interested to hear how your experience goes.
  3. I have my surgery with Dr. Kelly on the 15th of March, so I will be right behind you. I am nervous as well, not so much about the Dr., but definitely about the hospital, nurses, etc. I don't know, everyone I have seen has so far said pretty positive things about the hospital, so I am hopeful. The thing about first class...I actually did two one way tickets, so i am flying coach down there, but back to Seattle first class. Your flight is longer so I don't know if it would be cheaper that way, but it worked for me, and I am thankful as I am also nervous about my much shorter flight. Keep in touch, it would be great to have a buddy with a surgery date so close!
  4. I am glad to hear it went so well, congrats! I am looking forward to seeing Dr. Kelly for my surgery on 3/15....
  5. Here is his phone number 619 395 5347 I reached him via email: jrkelly45@hotmail.com He is pretty responsive, I heard back from him within two hours.
  6. I am a month and two days out from my surgery. I am trying to eat better, have started to incorporate Protein shakes in, etc. etc. I like the advice about starting to work more on the head...I think that will be one of my big struggles after I have the surgery, not that I am hungry but that I still feel like I should or want to eat. Having said that, I had shortbread Cookies for dinner.....not good. Really looking forward to the next stage in the journey.
  7. That would be great if you could post. I am going on 3/14, having my surgery on 3/15. I feel comfortable with my decision, Dr. Kelly has done a lot of surgeries, but it's always good to get the reinforcement. I hope you have a great trip and all goes well.
  8. There is a lot of stuff flying around about Dr. Kelly.....I am just wondering if anyone who has seen him in the last three months could post and let me know about your experience and how it went? There seems to be a lot of negative stuff being said and/or implied, but I am sure there are lots of positive stories out there as well and would love to hear a few.
  9. Hm interesting the stuff I read on here. I am having my surgery on 3/15 with Dr. Kelly. I booked directly through him. I have read a lot of positive things about him, and a lot of negative. I am comfortable with my decision. Ladies, please post and let us know what happens with your surgeries...I am wishing you the best of luck!
  10. I paid $5,500 for Dr. Kelly and went directly through him.
  11. I am glad to hear everything went so well! yes, I am not looking forward to the Tijuana street vendors, I hear they are very pushy. But I am getting so antsy to go!
  12. Wow glad you had such a great experience. I am going to Mexico in March for my surgery with Dr. Kelly...can't wait, getting very excited! But also nervous....
  13. I am glad you got your refund. I also got mine fairly quickly, it really had the most to do with the fact that you have to talk to Sandy to do it, but she was very accomodating. I was glad it was not a huge hassle to get my funds back. I am also going to be at florence hospital with Dr.Kelly in March. When is your surgery?
  14. I am having my surgery in Mexico on March 15th. I downloaded the "What to take to the Hospital" checklist and it seems very helpful, but I am wondering about what kind of clothes I should take to wear after surgery. I have read that most people stay in their hospital gown while at the hospital, but what do you take for wearing at the hotel? My sister who had surgery in the US in December was pretty much in bed most of the first week, so I was thinking nightgowns for the hotel, but I have also been reading a bit where people talk about walking around shopping after their surgery in Mexico. So maybe loose sweats? I am just looking for what others have done in this situation. I don't want to have to pack too much, but want to make sure I take enough. I know, weird thing to ask about when there are so many other things going on, but I am a practical woman and the devil is in the details, right? Suggestions/advice would be appreciated, TIA!
  15. So with all the things that I have to think about, I can't believe this is bugging me, but it is....anyone who has had surgery in Mexico, can you please tell me what you did about tipping the driver who took you to/from the airport and the hotel? I want to make sure I tip appropriately, but also am trying to keep to a budget on the trip. Any advice would be appreciated!
  16. I am going to be there right between you guys, my surgery is March 15th! So excited and nervous at the same time!
  17. Ok I am glad I am not the only one who thinks we are discriminated against with the big ugly flowers and gross patterns. Its like...we are fat, it's not that we have no taste in clothing! Ugh I HATE THAT! Oh and I hate my double chin too.
  18. That's what Dr. Kelly told me, don't worry about it and just bring the check with you. I am glad to not have to send the deposit as I was a little worried about the fee my bank charges for wire transfers. So good deal that the payment is a little easier. Also, I am glad to see they didn't ask you for the check the minute you got there, that's nice.
  19. Yes, you will have to post and let me know how things went! Are you as excited and nervous as I am??
  20. thanks for posting that. Honestly I think everyone's experience is different and your right, you just have to do your research and go with what you are most comfortable with. I am excited, nervous...I don't know, I am a little worried about an uncomfortable bed for my sister who is coming with me, but I am thinking I can bring a foam pad or buy one at the WalMart there for her so that it's not as bad. Anyway, thanks for sharing your recent experience.
  21. I think it's great you posted this. I used the email and literally got a response from Dr. Kelly within two hours, and have exchanged a few emails with him since then. He is pretty responsive, and I seem to be having good luck just going through him directly.
  22. So I bought my plane ticket for my trip to Tijuana on March 14th for my surgery March 15th with Dr. Kelly....I am beginning to feel like this is really going to happen! I am very excited, but also nervous and worried about what will happen here at work while I am gone since I am the only one in the company who knows exactly what I do and how to do it. I have gotten myself off Diet Coke successfully, and now need to get off coffee, but I am planning on starting that around 2/15 so I am done with the withdrawal by the time I go for my surgery. Just had to share my excitement!
  23. My surgery is scheduled for March 15, 2012. I am getting very excited but also aprehensive... Like Amanda, I will conquer my fear of meeting new people and my fear of no man ever finding me attractive again. Oh and that my weight is impeding my ability to get ahead at work.
  24. Wow...it's like I have found my sisters! I am looking forward to: 1. Having more energy 2. Wearing short skirts 3. Seeing my collarbones again 4. Receiving positive male attention 5. Not feeling invisible or frumpy 6. Being able to buy super cute clothes and not having to shop at the big girl stores 7. Wearing sexy lingerie again 8 Having my bras fit 9. Being more active with my six year old son.
