mick got a reaction from Lady Rock in Looking for July Sleevers!
Had my surgery Wednesday the 23rd. Had to stay an extra day because of high blood pressure and could not urinate.I quit using the morphine because it made me nauseous. Pain level was very low except for the gas. Feel great today but still want to sleep. I think my biggest problem is going to be making myself eat and drink enough Water. Not hungry at all, just feel empty.
My doctor told me a few days ago that I had lost enough weight so I could eat regular food again until the night before my surgery. He said that a persons stomach shrinks up so much on the liquid diet that he did not have much to work with. He told me he was experimenting with me to see if I could stretch my stomach out to near normal so that it would actually be an easier surgery procedure. After the surgery he came to see me and told me I had a perfect sleeve.

5 more days before my surgery. The doc said I had already lost more than he asked me to so don't worry about the liquid diet for these last few days. Because of my strenuous work I have lost size as well as weight on my new job. Was 282 and now 251
I have an omelette with cheese with a Protein Drink before going to work and still losing weight. Drinking tons of Water and soaking wet with sweat at work. Feels good!

I pray you are right. I will give it a try anyway. The only other thing I can do is ask my surgeon to allow me to put this off until January which will be after our busiest season and very cool outside as well.

Your doctor will give you the information you need. It is going to be similar as for any major abdominal surgery, likely 6-12 weeks, somewhere in there. And Bufflehead is right, you are protected by law FMLA up to 12 weeks (unpaid of course, unless you have sick leave to help cover it).
After your surgery, this will be a great job to help you build muscle. You might want to hit the gym and do some lifting at that point, too, as it will help you adjust to the new load. The more muscle you have, the faster you will lose. We will want pix showing how buff you are in a few months.

Well the way i see it is your company will have the new and improved version of you and each and every month it will get better Win/win. I do think it is important because of the demands of your work style to get a doctors excuss and heal properly before returning to work. Becareful and be smart on your healhty journey!

Awesome! You guys take a load off of my mind especially you Chris.
My daughter had the gastric bypass about 15 years ago. When I talk to her about having this surgery she asks me why I would want to put myself through this.
Same reason most other folks do, I want a better quality of life for the remainder of my years.
