  1. Steve, like you...all of us can lose the weight to some degree. KEEPING IT OFF...is the purpose of the "tool" WLS. I think most of us second guess our decision..but in the end we all know if we want the long term effects...we need this tool! I sure know I do! I have lost and gained hundreds of pounds over the past 30 yrs! I am confident that this WLS "tool" will help me keep it off once and for all. Changing our lifestyle with exercise and good eating habits will insure our success! Best of luck...
  2. I've been on the liquids for 6 days now...and I must say, it isn't so bad. I actually forget to drink my shakes sometimes. I do 3 shakes a day and 2 Snacks (pudding, gogurts or soup)...and I feel fine! It really hasn't been as bad as I thought! If you can cook it...puree it...and strain it... you can have it! That is how I've been making my soups! A juicer is good too...I have one..but don't like many fruits...so it collects dust! Maybe I will break it out and try it now! I think the key is that I started cutting WAY back on portions 2 months ago...and now I am ready! I wish both of you ladies great success..and will keep everyone up to date on my surgery, Nov. 2nd!
  3. Wait... I need that size now! LOL I was a 26-28...after 50 lbs...I am a 20-22! I have some of my smaller clothes from a few yrs ago when I lost 100 lbs doing low carb...but those are running out. We need a clothes give-away program...so it helps each other on their way down the scale! I have some 26-28's...praise GOD they no longer fit me!
  4. I can't imagine having a spouse that wasn't supportive! I am so blessed to have the support system I have...everyone knows what I am doing..even all 300 of my facebook friends know..and every single person supports my decision. I am very blessed... My heart breaks for all the people who are doing this in secret or alone! Support is what makes the real difference in this process! I am so thankful for this site and the people on here who keep it REAL! I am happy that your husband supports you now ...soon you will look and feel like a MILLION DOLLARS!
  5. I can relate to this post! My feet, knees and back hurts all the time! I have lost over 50 pounds and still feel the pain! I have about 145 pounds to go...and I know the "tool" WLS..is the help I need to reach that goal. My surgery is Nov. 2nd...and I am very ready! I started the liquids last week...and am so very set up to WIN this BATTLE! You are on the right track and I wish you the best in this journey!
  6. Ok..here is my two cents worth on this topic! First and foremost LOVE is unconditional! If someone LOVES you...then they are entitled to voice their concerns, but support your decision, afterall it is YOUR decision! Second.. I have learned over the years with my grown children and other adult family members...that I don't have to like what they do..but I respect their privacy and LOVE them all the same! We can't control what other think or say...but our unconditional LOVE in return will warm the cold hearts...and in the end all will be forgiven. I am having my surgery on Nov. 2nd...and I am very blessed to have 100% support from everyone..friends and family! I can't imagine people having to hide their WLS because they fear rejection from friends and family. My heart goes out to each of them. This is a time when we need LOVE and SUPPORT...now more than ever! The good news is... HERE we are ALL family! We are there when no one else is! Hold your head up high... and do what you KNOW will make YOU happy...and healthy! God bless you....
  7. Thanks ladies! I weigh everyday, first thing in the morning...but no worries...it will come off...one way or the other! I am just so excited to see ANYTHING less than 300!
  8. Wow...I, like you, have always been overweight...so to think about being to SKINNY...is somewhat optional in my book! As long as we are healthy ...I see no problem. Granted...I do not want to look like a skeleton! Congrats on the weightloss...and best of luck on your test!
  9. Someday that will be ME! You have accoplished so much in 6 months! You deserve this moment..and you know it! Congrats! You are a great inspiration to us all! Looking forward to your "goal" pictures, too!

Welcome...I am a newbie too! I am having my surgery on Nov. 2nd. I am so excited to add this tool to my toolbox. I learned early on the surgery is not the answer. Making a commitment to the long term lifestyle changes are the REAL answer to weight loss and management! I began my journey on Aug. 2, 2011... 1200 calorie/90 carbs/90-100 proteins/50 fats...and I added walking to the mix. As of today....I have lost 50lbs WITHOUT surgery! So, I know once I add the "tool", WLS to the mix...I will reach my goal and be able to maintain it for many years to come. I really wish you the best in your journey and may God bless you with your desired success!
  11. Grrrrrrrrrrr.... not a good morning! I was so excited to see anything under 300lbs today! But...NOOOO! I get up early and step on the scale (after 5 days of liquids) and see that I gained 1/2 pound! WHAT?! and HOW?! I am exercising...sticking to s strict liquid diet..so what the heck? I know it is just a 1/2 pound...but let me tell ya..to me it was like 10 lbs! I want to see that scale sing any number under 300! "299.11"...I don't care...I just want it! Oh well...had to get that off my chest! I am better now..and have strong hope for tomorrow! More water and walk a little longer today...surely that will help improve my numbers on the scale!
  12. I am confussed...why is so many people getting the surgery done in Mexico? I am just curious what the difference is! My surgery is Nov. 2nd in the grand state of OKLAHOMA! Just a few miles from where I live and where my friends and family members are!
  13. Humm! Well...this is day 4 for liquids...and I must say, it has been easy! I don't feel hungry...and have to remind myself to have my protein shakes! Crazy I know...but it is working. I have lost 50 lbs in 2 1/2 mths!
  14. That is fantastic... God bless you!
  15. well... so far so good! The good news is the scale loves the liquid diet! Kim....you only did 3 days of liquids? Wow..I am required to do 2 weeks..but opted for 3 weeks just to be real sure the liver is smaller! After all that is the main reason for the liquid diet! I see alot of people only doing a few days...I wonder why?
  16. That is priceless information for a pre-op girl like me. I am always on the go...sounds like I had better plan to change that for a few days! I have done a food log since I began the program...and plan to continue it as long as needed to make sure I am getting all the things I NEED! You are a inspiration...and sounds like you are on the road of recovery! God bless!
  17. Well...about that "list"! They are re-vamping the nutrition section and did not give us one of those.."list" yet! To late for some of us! Yes, I saw her...twice! But she only talked about after and current...nothing about those glorious 2 weeks of liquids. I am assuming I can have anything liquid...creamed...or strained. Over all I am doing 3 protein shakes (27 gms of protein each shake) , gogurts, puddings, jello and creamed soup. I think that will cover me for the next few weeks.
  18. I am on day 2 of the liquids... I am so happy to have 1/2 cup of strained cream Soups...it is a treat! LOL It helps if you find a Protein drink that you like... or 3 in my case. I stocked up on all 3 amazing flavors...and they just called to tell me they have the chocolate Peanut Butter flavor in...I tried it today and it is AWESOME. IsoFlex is great!!! I am doing 3 weeks of liquids.... so by the end..I will hate them all.
  19. Wholy Cow....3 days?!? They submitted me last week and we still are pending "Approval"! (Cause I know it is going to be approved..I am faithful) I too have slight apprehension about the alternative...but my faith is keeping me positive....and I am preparing as if I am already approved! Faith goes a long ways in my world!

AWESOME JOB!!! I am ready for my surgery...it can't get here soon enough! I have done very well on the pre-op diet plan...and now I am on the liquid stage! 3 weeks from today....I will be sleeved! I love this site....if only I knew how to use it right...LOL
  21. Thanks so much! Thank goodness it is fall...and soup (cream) sounds good to me! It is day 2...and over all I am doing great! I use the IsoFlex protein mix with 1% milk... it is awesome! They have many flavors...and all are excellent!
  22. I began one week early to help shrink my liver...now the million dollar question is, what can I have that isn't a protein drink? HELP!
