A month to go...

Hi Everyone! I'm Elizabeth. My surgery date is November 21, 2011. I am excited and anxious all at the same time. I feel like my life is about to become the one I've wanted to have since I was younger-healthy and happier. I joined this site because there is no advice like that of the experienced. Thanks to all of you that have posted comments on different threads, it is such a huge help. I look forward to sharing my journey with you and hope to be there for others as you have.

Welcome, Elizabeth. I'm Ann and I'm new, too. Welcome to this site; it does seem quite helpful. My surgery date is November 7th and I'm ready to get started on my journey to a healthier me.

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies! Ann I hope that your surgery goes well. That is the day I start my 2 week liquid diet, I will be praying for you.

I've been on the liquids for 6 days now...and I must say, it isn't so bad. I actually forget to drink my shakes sometimes. I do 3 shakes a day and 2 Snacks (pudding, gogurts or soup)...and I feel fine! It really hasn't been as bad as I thought! If you can cook it...puree it...and strain it... you can have it! :D That is how I've been making my soups! A juicer is good too...I have one..but don't like many fruits...so it collects dust! Maybe I will break it out and try it now!

I think the key is that I started cutting WAY back on portions 2 months ago...and now I am ready! I wish both of you ladies great success..and will keep everyone up to date on my surgery, Nov. 2nd! :)

Nice to meet you, Elizabeth. My surgery is next Wed. 10/19, here in Orange County, CA. I understand your feeling so grateful for all the comments on various topics. I've used them to compile a list of things to take with me to the hospital. It's given me something to focus on, and that's helped. I've lost 13# on the pre-op liquid diet and hope to have that a higher number by tomorrow and then again on Wed. I haven't figured out the process of attaching the weight loss ticker but I've copied the information and saved it.

Congratulations on your decision. When your emotions are all over the chart, this is a good place to go!
