Just wondering how many folks here are planning/doing videos of their sleeve adventures for You Tube? If/when I get approved for my surgery, I do personally plan on doing weekly vids as 1) a way to hold myself accountable on the prescribed eating methods for best results and 2) to help spread the word about VSG and hopefully give someone else out there some hope. I have watched pretty much all the videos about VSG on Youtube...one thing I've noticed is lots of people start posting regular vids, but then only the folks that are having fairly consistant success keep on posting. The folks that struggle more tend to post less and less frequently, then disappear. Makes some sense to me...after all who wants to post vids about problems and maybe failure. But I know I would learn so much from THOSE people. Perhaps more than what I learn from the success stories. Opinions?

Sure hope you get clearance for your surgery. I'm slowly dying myself...all my required visits to the various nutritionist, psych counseling and doctors are spread out over the next month. THEN I'll wait for my insurance co. I am sooooo not patient! I might get my surgery in December.....maybe. or not.

I've not had the surgery yet...but have read a ton of other sleever's info about this and other such topics. What I gather is within a couple of years post surgery, people can take in about 50% to 100% more volume. That means something like from 3 ounces at first to 5-6 ounces after a few years. This doesn't seem a problem to me, as by that point the excess weight should be lost, and in maintainance. one should be eating a bit more food anyway. Hopefully other seasoned sleevers can check my accuracy!

I'll keep fingers and toes crossed for you. I'm still waiting to do a nutrition one on one, then PCP surgery approval, THEN the surgeon sends in the packet for approval! Jeez...I'm feeling like a tennis ball! I'll be checking to see you "approval" post!

Thank you guys for all the info and advice...the "3 day to approve/disapprove" responses give me some hope for at least quick news. I WILL call them frequently as you suggest once my doctor submits. Just did the shrink eval today...pretty sure I fooled him into thinking I'm sane! lol

I'm sure this gets asked very often...sorry in advance. I happen to have HealthNet *** in california. I'm currently jumping through the hoops of psych eval, nutrition class, etc. in prep for submit to insurance to get sleeved. Curious what the average length of time I should expect to wait before I hear back from them? Do they disapprove often? I'm in dread of getting rejected. Any advice to help sway the insurance jury?
