  1. You look GREAT! I'll be glad when I'm posting pics. I'm almost 3 weeks out. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  2. I work in a hospital and had my surgery at out bariatric center. They should let you pay out the remainder since u have what over half of what u mite have to pay OOP. These days hospitals are usually happy to wok with you esp. when it's a situation where the patient is ACTUALLY going to pay their bill unlike 75% of patients there for other stuff. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  3. Monday will be 3 weeks since my surgery and I've lost 20 including the 7 during the pre op liquids. Im 5'0" abd started at 202 I'm feeling good and no problems except for 2 days ago I ate way too fast for the first time and i paid for it for about 3 hrs. Felt horrible and on the verge of vomiting. WON'T be doing that again! Good luck to everyone and it does come off us shorties even tho its a tad slower! I can't wait for the NEXT 20 to be gone then I will really feel it !!!!
  4. Same here just smells like grease. Im sure it will get better down the road ! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  5. I was sleeved 2-6 also. Bedhead and I are buddies I sure hope you feel better SOON girly' but NO I do not regret it even this early the first week was kinda rough for me but I have been blessed that I have had not problems drinking or eating from day 1 and I have lost 19 total so far counting my 1 week pre op diet. If this keeps up and I'm sure I will I will be looking and feeling better in no time! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  6. You do look amazing! And great inspiration for me who's only 2.5 weeks out. Your a tad taller than me but def give me an idea of what to look forward too! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  7. Well on the computer I normally log in thru FB ... So maybe I need to actually register? Idk but it says my user name is taken daggumit!!! Lol
  8. It says my user name is taken but it won't let me sign in and I can't figure out what to do with it... it shouldn't be taken by anyone other than me. I have been on the regular VST on computer for several months... any ideas? maybe I'm just not doing it right??? LOL
  9. I been feeling good. Lost 19 so far including pre op 1 week liquid diet.Feels slow to me but I KNOW I couldn't do that on my own! Today is the 1st day I ever had any problems... Pretty sure I had the slimes! It was an awful feeling and I know I just ate too fast! WON'T be doing that again. I still feel kinda crappy and that was almost 5 hrs ago so I'm just gonna do liquids the rest of he nite. Other than this one incident I have not had any problems eating or drinking. Thank goodness!
  10. Your welcome! I live in Texas also! Outside the Beaumont area.
  11. Same here, cry for nothing, biting my kids heads off... feeling bored and restless on top of that! I'm wishing I would have made arrangements to go back to work next week...luckily I only have til the 3rd now to wait!!!! who woulda thought I'd be ready to go to work!???
  12. I founf this on another board it explains it alot! Our bodies use glycogen for short term energy storage. Glycogen is not very soluble, but it is stored in our muscles for quick energy -- one pound of glycogen requires 4 lbs of Water to keep it soluble, and the average glycogen storage capacity is about 2 lbs. So, when you are not getting in enough food, your body turns first to stored glycogen, which is easy to break down for energy. And when you use up 2 lbs of glycogen, you also lose 8 lbs of water that was used to store it -- voila -- the "easy" 10 lbs that most people lose in the first week of a diet. As you stay in caloric deficit, however, your body starts to realize that this is not a short term problem. You start mobilizing fat from your adipose tissue and burning fat for energy. But your body also realizes that fat can't be used for short bursts of energy -- like, to outrun a sabertooth tiger. So, it starts converting some of the fat into glycogen, and rebuilding the glycogen stores. And as it puts back the 2 lbs of glycogen into the muscle, 8 lbs of water has to be stored with it to keep it soluble. So, even though you might still be LOSING energy content to your body, your weight will not go down or you might even GAIN for a while as you retain water to dissolve the glycogen that is being reformed and stored.
  13. Not the smelling bad part, I'm almost 2 weeks out. But I do feel like I have a bionic nose and can smell EVERYTHING more! It's weird!
  14. I know the feeling, I finally did lose 1 more pound the past day or 2 and I was sleeved the 6th. But I can say I have lost inches, I wore a shirt last nite I've only worn maybe once or twice before when I weighed alittle less than I weigh now. The last time I was going to wear it the sleeves were way too tight and I looked stuffed into it. I have upped my water and protein so I'm hoping I'm one of those who lose better on the higher end of the calorie scale??? I know it's sooo aggravating!!!! But just think in a few months it will all be worth it ...as long as the scale continues down how ever slow it maybe ... WE still are better off than before!
  15. I was waking up really early and being wide awake for the first week. Today was the 1st day I slept late, but I had a late nite and also it was raining cats n dogs here this morning...good for sleepin! I know before years ago when I did the atkins diet very striclty I had tons of energy and needed less sleep so maybe it is the ketosis.
  16. TRUE!!! I'm gonna take any lose as a gain bc I know that will be gone for good , thanks for putting it that way!
  17. I know the feeling ! I can drink so easy it's scary. But when I went for my 1st post op visit the Dr. said sounds like I'm doing just fine! It is weird how each person reacts sooo different bc my co worker had her sleeve 2 weeks before me and she still can barely eat or drink anything. Same surgeon and I"m assuming same bougie sz...he said he has a system that works very well and everyone gets the same thing. I am on full liquids now but I can still drink an 8 oz pretty thin protein shake in about 10 min. or so. I hope when I get to more solid foods I get the restriction feeling too!
  18. Well atleast it didn't happen after 1 week like meeee. Although wiyh pre and post op I've lost 15, but the scale hasn't moved in 4 days and I'm only 10 days out
  19. O ya and where I feel the pain and pressure gas bubble feeling is below where my stomach is by about 3-4" inches... so I'm guessing my stomach is OK I'm just FOS hehe
  20. One thing I also thought of is that I have worn jeans for the past two days plus my bowels aren't up to par yet ...so no jeans for a bit longer and I took some MOM. I work as an xray tech so I went and had abdomen xray and I was full of poo and gas... the staples are SOOOO tiny we had to zoom in on it to even see it. Weird! LOL
  21. I KNOW I shouldn't be weighing and I have lost 15 total with the pre op and what I did lose the 1st week, It's just alittle frustrating... and I know my body is in shock and trying to hold on to what it has for dear life...but still annoying!!! Any tips or advice? I guess I was under the delusion I'd be a fast loser LOL
  22. I have that same pain on the left, had surg 2-6 and been doing fine and feeling OK no problems drinking at all...then this dull almost constant achey pain in my upper left abdomen started yesterday. No other changes or pains and no fever... but I was starting to freak out until I read a couple post with ppl having the same thing...whewww thank goodness! I thought something was wring with me
  23. I was sleeved on the 6th and I have the same thing, just started yesterday, It's like a dull constant ache in that same spot on the left upper area of my abdomen in the stomach area. NO other symptoms and no fever...nothing.
  24. She's done pretty good, she hasn't been too rough and atleast she does sit when told. I was so happy to get the dang drain out Tues. I kept it tucked in my undies bc I'm short and the tube was alittle long LOL I was so worried it would be hanging out and the dog would snag it...thank goodness that DIDNT happen!!!
