I Need A Recipe For Chicken Salad

I love this one! I don't like mayo at all but the sour cream masks the flavor really well. Chicken Salad 2 can white chicken meat drained and shredded 3 thinly sliced green onions 1/8 teasp poultry seasoning 2- 1 portion Mayonaise and sour cream start with 2/3 mayo and 1/3 sour cream 3/4 to 1 cup craisins (dried cranberries) 3/4 to 1 cup sliced almonds or pecans or walnuts or pecans dash of garlic powder salt and pepper to taste Mix and refrigerate - great with croissants (but also great by itself) can use apples or grapes instead of the craisins. can even use pineapple chunks.

    Crazy Bad Pain

I asked my doc abt similar sounding pains and he said it was esophageal spasms. They hurt a lot. Don't go by what I say though, ask your doc.
  6. Let me preface this: I stayed in the hospital a total of 6 days/ 5 nights. I had complications from sleeve swelling and nausea. Surgeon: $5000 PCP (He checked on me 3 days) $600 Hospital: $54,392 Holy cow!!! So far the PCP claim has been paid. Other two denied - they need my medical records or something like that. I can check the claim status online. I have $0 copay for the surgery. I should be billed $200 a night for the hospital day for a max of 3 day. ($600 total) I'm going to call my insurance on Monday to get more info on why the surgeon and hospital claim have been denied. I'm a little nervous.....that is a crazy amount of money!!!!!!!!
  7. I gradually drank less and less for about one week. Try cutting it down by 1/4 of the amount each day. I only had a headache for 1 day but it wasn't too bad.

Not At All What I Expected!

Honey, you are definitely not alone. I'm about 3.5 weeks out. I had to spend a total of 5 days in the hospital due to nausea and "being extra tight". I was only supposed to stay one night. I was only able to get 2 oz two in 24 hrs, four days after surgery. I still have a lot of "tightness" that makes it really hard for me to eat and drink. Eating gives me anxiety at times. It's more of a chore right now because it's so hard to get the food down. The journey this far has been a struggle but I am confident it will get better. Give yourself time to heal. Just make sure you stay in touch with your doc and let the office know what problems you are experiencing. Sip, sip, sip as often as you can. I'm still feeling tired and weak but I feel a little stronger each day. I hope you feel stronger and better soon too.
  9. Wow - I agree with the others. You look at least 10 years younger now! Congrats on the 80 lbs weight loss!!!!

    Feeling Sad

I'm sorry your feeling so bad. We all want our Mom when we are this sick and in need. I also had a very rough time with the surgery. I stayed in the hospital for 5 days due to swelling and nausea. I almost ended up getting a stint (bc my doc wasn't on call that weekend, his partner was making decisions). My doc said some patients have more swelling and nausea than others. They can't tell who those people will be before hand. I was told not to take any extra pills like Vitamins, potassium, etc till my pouch swelling started to go down. My 17 days post ops now. Saw my doc on Friday he said I could start "trying" the vitamins to see if my sleeve can tolerate them. Call your doc on Monday to have them check the incisions. Our fat cells hold hormones. As fat cells melt away those hormones are released. This can cause us to become hormonal, emotional messes. Remember, you're making progress. It may be slow, but you're making progress. Hope you fell better soon.

I Did Something Very Stupid Today

I'm sorry you had a terrible day. You're right though, you need to focus on getting your Protein in above all. Take care of yourself. Great idea to put an emergency supply in the car and you're purse. Hope tomorrow is better.

  15. Great NSV! Getting off blood pressure meds is huge!!!!!!!!! Congrats on the healthier you!
  16. I'm 12 days post op. I'm having some cravings but I was really wanting the pizza my husband was eating yesterday. I've been experiencing lots of issues like extra fullness from just liquids though. I know just one bite of that pizza or anything else other than liquid would do a number on me right now. It just wouldn't be worth it, just me. Good luck. That is an awesome NSV. I did some pantry cleaning myself. You're doing awesome!
  17. Hi Everyone, I posted all the complications I experienced after surgery. I'm not a a greek yogurt or regular yogurt fan. I've been struggling with my Fluid and Protein intake. Today I took a small amount if Fage plain yogurt and mixed some SF strawberry preserves together. I managed to get about 2.5 tablespoons down after 20-30 minutes. I felt pretty proud to finally get some yogurt down. About 45 minutes later it come back up several times. I'm not sure what else to do. I tried Isopure Alpine Punch yesterday. It's okay but leaves my mouth feeling dry. My doc has me taking Xanax (small dose) three times a day to help relax my digestive system. I'm starting to feel so down about this stuff. I guess I need to look up more protein recipes. I think I'm experiencing lactose intolerance too. I just bought milk I just don't want that either. I think try making protein Jello. Any good recipes or suggestions for unflavored protein? Thanks for letting me whine...
  18. Thanks for the suggestions ladies. I'm was starting to feel like a failure but your posts helped me realize that I'm not alone and doing the best I can right now. I'm going back to broths starting tomorrow. Really I appreciate your responses and kindness.
  19. My doc prescribed generic Pepcid. 40 mg once a day.
  20. Glad it went so well for you. Broth gets old but there are several new varieties on the shelf these days.

    Recovery Room Pain Level?

I didn't experience any pain. Maybe a tad of discomfort but I had far more pain with the 2 c-sections I had. The worst part for me was feeling the need to burp constantly. My husband was a great help bc he kept patting my back to get the gas bubbles out. If you feel any pain, tell your nurses. They will address it right away.
  23. You're making great progress! I was sleeved the day after you. After reading your post, I'm going to take some measurements tonight.
  24. I feel your pain. My doc prescribed Xanax 3x a times to "relax" my digestive system so I could get some relief from the tightness I am feeling for various reasons. May help you too. Hope it gets better for you.
  25. Hi Everyone, Feeling down and out. 6 dpo - finally got out of the hospital last night. My surgery was on 3/21 @ 7:30 am. I experienced extreme nausea as soon as I woke up from surgery. It was debilitating. I don't even remember the first three days after surgery. I wasn't drinking anything at all. All the liquids I received were just from the potassium IV that you normally get. My surgeon said some people just experience bad nausea after the surgery and that the swelling/restriction may just take a little longer than normal to go down but it would improve each day. Things weren't really improving so Saturday afternoon the performed an upper GI. That was a miserable experience in itself. The radiologist, she was a complete jerk and wasn't understanding at all. She wasn't sure if I was supposed to get just a barium swallow or something else too. So she had me swollen this granulated stuff that foams. Vomited that up immediately. All over myself and the floor. Then she proceeded to turn the table backward so I went from standing to laying on my back. Then she asked me to continually swollen the barium. I could only swallow a tiny sip or two. Not a good experience for someone fitting extreme nausea. She was so mean to her staff and was barking orders at them. I told them I could never work with such a mean woman. I disgress... My doctor's partner (Dr. M) was on call over the weekend. He reviewed the upper GI images. He said he understood why I was having so much nausea because there is a large amount of swelling and inflammation. It should resolve itself within a few days. Sunday comes, Dr M., stops by and I told him I'm feeling al ittle better today. He sets my Fluid intake goal to 20-30 oz for the day. If I don't meet it he and my doctor have decided that I need a stint. That scared the crap out of me. Saturday, I only drank 2 oz all day. Sunday, I managed to barely get the 20 oz down. The whole time I was in the hospital I vomited ocassaionaly, especially at night. Yesterday my doc finally came to talk to me. He said while doing my surgery, he noticed I have some scar tissue at the end on my stomach. The area was trying to fold over on itself so he feels like I am likely experience extra tightness and restriction due to the scar tissue. He said she was really worried about me but doesn't want to do the stint. He said I made enough progress on Sunday and Monday to release me. So, I finally got released from the hospital 6 days after surgery. Last night was really bad. I started vomiting after lying down. I ended up vomiting several times. Mostly Water and foamy stuff. I would start coughing and it ending in vomiting. I couldn't get myself at the right angle so I ended up laying on the cough mostly sitting up all night. I was totally miserable. Doc doesn't want me trying any extra pills at this time with all the sensitivity my sleeve has so no Vitamins or potassium pills for now. He did prescribe Xanax - 3 times a day to help "relax" my digestive system. I'm also taking liquid Lortab every 6 hours for pain (luckily, I'm not experiencing much). I'm taking Pepcid once a day and Zofran for nausea every 6 hours and finally and Synthroid (for hypothroidism). I've only drank 12 oz so far today. 3 oz of that powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup. I'm just feeling alone and at a loss. Not sure what to do or how to get more fluids/protein in. I feel so full all the time. I did call the doc's office this morning to fill them in on last night. They told me to call again if I have more problems. I'm supposed to be taking in 60 oz of fluid at a minimum. I don't know what else to do.
