  1. You're doing great keep it up. I m 5 days out longer than you and just started the pureed stage anf am having a hard time figuring out what to eat. Keep up the good work!
  2. are you sure he didnt mean added fruit? I would get clarification on that.
  3. take a half cup of the yougurt, add splenda and strawberry (or any flavor) extract, mix and it tastes great!
  4. I am 11 days out from getting the sleeve done. I have lost 20 lbs. I asked my surgeon his opinon for me between the sleeve and bypass and he asked me three questions: do you have diabetis? NO. Do you have high blood pressure: NO, do you crave sweets? NO... he then said well if you had any of those three issues I would recommend that you go with the bypass, but since you don't its entirely up to you, which left me puzzled. Then I asked well give me statistics and this helped me make my descision. He said 3 in 1000 die getting the bypass vs 1 in 1000 with sleeve (Yay!). Most people only have to take the Vitamin supps for one yr on sleeve vs rest of your life with bypass (yay!) Then he said and now that I have been doing the sleeve for a yr i find that at the 6 mo and 12 month check the percent of weight loss is the same as the bypasss...so its your choice. I PICKED THE SLEEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! My concern was that I have so much weight to lose I wanted to be sure I would get the most out of the surgery. It is really up the the individual how much you lose. My friends boyfriend lost 125 on the lapband, which is not typical. Best wishes to you! God bless you, Sabrina
  5. Wow Miss Diva I am so impressed with your weight loss, most of the gals on this site started in the 200's but I started at 335 lbs day of surgery and have lost 20 lbs already, you are an inspiration!
  6. That's right. Also once your able to eat yogurt I have a tip: Get the greek non fat yogurt (nasty plain), add strawberry (extract) (or whatever flavor you prefer and splenda to taste, stir well, taste just like regular yogurt with lots of Protein.
  7. WOW!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much, that makes so much sense. I am only taking the prevacid 1x a day, so I am gonna increase that and just be patient. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all of this it totally makes sense!
  8. when Dr. Fedorka came in to discharge me he told me I could have anything that could fit through a straw, such as those things i mentioned above. You may want to ask your dr. I think it may be different for bypass.
  9. I drink 8 oz Protein shake which contributes toward my daily consumtion. You just have to drink one or two of those a day on top of your Water, I also drink Isopure which has protein. It's hard but possible.
  10. You know I am drinking more Isopure and Protein shakes trying to get my protein, should I still drink lots of water in addition to this? I just don't want to feel hungry anymore! Thanks for your advise!
  11. Yes, I feel I can eat a cow....well a big juicy burger would be good too. But again I feel it is getting better, I just can't stand that feeling of being hungry. Thanks for your response.
  12. I thinki I am a little better today. I ate 2 oz of cream of wheat with soy milk and splenda, it was delicious and I feel better. I guess I just need to give it more time. Tomorrow is barely 1 week. Thanks for your insight.
  13. I drink 8 oz of Protein with ground up oatmeal in am, then 2 oz of yogurt, Isopure between, 2 oz of broth, crystal lite, 2 oz cottage chesse, more liquids. And I am starving, what do you think?
  14. Thanks for that. So when you have hunger pains and eat they go away, right? Cause right now it seems I get hungrier the more I consume
  15. Hi my name is Sabrina and I am 5 days post surgery. When i went into surgery last Wednesday I was hungry of course cause I hadn't eaten the entire day previous. Well once I came out of the antestisia and was able to "feel" I had extreme pressure from what I beleived to be air, as the air decreased the pain remained and is what I now realize- Hunger pang ! It is terrible. If it wasn't for these pangs I would pretty much be great. Can anyone help me to understand what this is and/or when it will stop? Thank you!
  16. So glad to hear your hunger pangs went away. I feel more hunger after I consume liquids, its crazy! But I feel inspired knowing yours stopped after a couple of weeks. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
  17. I am so sorry to hear that. Did you report this to your dr? If so what did doc say? How long post surgery did you begin getting the pains?
  18. Thank you. I am so excited to be part of this group
  19. I am 5 days post and have been struggling with the hunger pangs. It seems as if when I eat (drink), i get hungry. This is not good. i have emailed my dr. this morning and am waiting for a response. I do want to tell you while I was in the hospital I told him I was hungry and why is that when you supposedly removed the portion of the stomach that has the hunger hormones, etc. He told me that that is only try for 50% of the patients, that the other 50% will still experience hunger pangs. He told me that if I would have asked he would have told me that, I didn't think I had to ask when he had just told me he would be cutting out that portion of the stomach, so I assumed that it would be the same for all patients. He told me then that it should subside, but to me it is getting worse. Well, have a great day!
