9 Days Post Op And Only 7Lbs Down

you will be fine! i also had surgery with dr. garcia and stalled for about 2 weeks right out the gate. just stay focused on getting your fluids and protein in.
  8. hi optima, i was told i could do 5 days of the 7 day diet due to my BMI of 44. here was my diet: LIQUIDS ONLY - This consists of broth, sugar-free Jell-O, sugar free or sweetened with aspartame, Yogurt (none with chunks of fruit in it), sugar-free juice (if juice is in its own natural juices, make sure that it is still low in carbohydrates), clear liquids, Boost, Slim-Fast or any low-carb Meal Replacement drink. No sodas & NO SOLIDS. START THIS PHASE 3 DAYS BEFORE SURGERY: Take a laxative (any laxative that you usually use). 1 adult dosage of your laxative of choice – 1 time – 3 days before surgery. Drink only clear liquids after that. (Broths, sugar-free Juices you can see through, etc.) NO SOLIDS of any kind. PLEASE NOTE: A higher BMI requires a liquid diet 14 days prior to surgery.
  9. have you tried the zantac 150mg? one in the morning and one at night just before bed. good luck!

    Post-Op Discouragement

i would suggest you make an appointment to see your gastro. i had/have the same difficulties as my esophagus was irritated due to reflux (GERD) issue . nexium 40mg helped with the acid issues and on really bad days, I take metoclopramide as needed 20 mins before meals to relax the esophagus. good luck!
  11. congrats on your decision. i was sleeved by dr. garcia in nov 2011 and i had a good experience - absolutely no regrets. there are a few write ups on dr. garcia just search his name. here are 2: http://www.verticals...__fromsearch__1 http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/30447-in-mexico-for-surgery-with-dr-garcia/
  12. i am also on zantac 150 twice a day - at my worse (and until i felt better) i ate crackers, bananas and even chips which were the only things that did not make me feel nauseous! hope you get well soon.
  13. uggg, need to get serious about my exercise program...

    Anyone Have Dyspepsia? Frequent Heartburn?

hi kiki, i have gerd and it is sooo bad some days, it such a struggle to even eat. having read up on dyspepia, i do see some similarities to what i am experiencing. i always had indigestion but since being sleeved (nov 1/11) i can say that it has gotten a bit worse. my new tummy just refuses to rule! i take zantac 150mg twice a day to manage.
