  1. Hello Everyone, I'm back at work today, didn't go anywhere for Mardi Gras. Phyl - Congrats on the 4 lbs!!!!!!! Janet - 3 lbs!!!!! Ya hooooooo!!!!!! Kari - A mile, OMG !!!!! I can't even run to the mailbox. Kartrina - I'm calling the plastic surgeon today. I want a breast reduction this summer. I don't want to do it, but I have no choice. I can't live with these things. I have a friend who did it. Insurance paid for it, and he did the tummy tuck for 5000.00.
  2. Kari - Congratulations!!!!! Stephanie - Sorry Love, Been there done that too. I'll pray for you. My 15yr. old teenage brat was a nightmare to potty train. He held it for over a week, while I was giving him laxatives to make him go. When I put him in the warm water of the tub, he could no longer hold it. OMG, I will never forget that nightmare. He did it twice.
  3. Phyl - Congratulations on the NSVs. Isn't it great feeling better about yourself?
  4. Katrina - onederland, Yeah!!!!! Karri - Size 9, Shut-up dats Fantastic!!!!! Janet - You look beautiful!!!! I danced yesterday too, They had bands before the parade. I'm still fat, but some of the embarrassment is gone. I'm starting to feel better about myself. And if I want to dance, I'm gonna dance. There's no way in hell I woulda done that last year.
  5. Yesterday we went to a friend's house for Endymion, New Orleans biggest and prettiest parade. We had a blast. Their house is a block away from where the parade officially starts but the floats lined up on the street next to us. 3 gigantic Budweiser trucks pulled up right in front thier house with the Clydesdales. Awesome! This was the first year this parade went back to it's original Mid City route since Katrina. Mid City is a part of New Orleans that flooded. For the past two years the area was still too messed up to have a parade go through. Having this parade go home was a big deal for Mid City. And then today Eli wins the Superbowl which is another big deal for New Orleans. Awesome!!!!!! Kingcake is made out of a sweet bread dough. It is formed into a circle and decorated with purple, green, and gold(yellow) sugar. A plastic baby is inside. Whoever gets the piece with the baby is supposed to buy the next cake. Around here, children always bring them to school during the season. We start having them right after Christmas until Fat Tuesday. This year was a very short season with one of the earliest Mardi Gras we've had. Katrina - Congratulations on Onederland. Gulfport/Biloxi area was much worse. They took the direct hit and were basically wiped off the map. New Orleans flooded because the levies broke. The area of New Orleans where tourist go, the French Quarter, was not majorly damaged. It did not flood. The experience of Katrina was surreal. It was horrific, unimaginable. When we go down the main highway through town, you look out over the city and you can still see the waterlines on things and you can tell that as far as you can see everything was under at least 4 feet of water. The house we were at yesterday flooded 4 feet, and that water stayed for 2 weeks.
  6. OMG !!!! OMG !!!!! OMG !!!!! ELI just one the Superbowl !!!!!! I am so happy for his family, I could cry. The Mannings are from New Orleans!!!!! They are our Peeps!!!! Imagine the pride and joy of having two sons in the NFL. Two sons, quarterbacks, each winning the Superbowl one year after the other. OMG, unfreakin believable!!!!!! Mardi Gras had to compete with the Superbowl, and Eli won!!!! Did I mention how freakin excited I am.
  7. A snow day, we had that once when I was about 7. It was more like, everything's frozen day. Indio - If someone attacks you, you have the right to defend yourself. If you openly engage in a fight. Okay in mid sentence, I have to go cause my secretary just thouroughly pissed me off.
  8. 2 1/2 more hours and I'm outta here!!!!! No fights yet, fingers crossed, let it last.
  9. The wildness is on Bourbon Street where I definitely don't go for Mardi Gras. Yes we have King Cake. Actually, the P.E. teacher just walked in with one 5 minutes ago. Hopefully, I will be going to Endymion, our biggest and prettiest parade, tomorrow night. It passes in front of a friend's house. Which makes them Mardi Gras royalty. People actually buy houses just to be on that route. This is the first year since Katrina it goes back to it's original route.
  10. Nobody up today. It's Friday!!! And I have Mon. - Wed. off for Mardi Gras!! Yeah!! I just ate some cottage cheese, and I'm praying it goes down. I'm having trouble. 5 more hours and I'm outta here!!!!!!
  11. Kari - That was funny!!!!!! When I read the first post, I was thinking wow that's excessive, I just got a fill today and the nurse didn't see all those areas.
  12. WannaB- I have a fill appt. tomorrow. I think I'm gonna pass. I think I have tightened up in the last week. I was eating a lot more at the beginning of the month. Now it seems I getting stuck daily. Janet - Happy yesterday!!!!!! OMG the daily itching has begun.
  13. Okay, seriously this is the last time. Janet I am so sorry..... Happy Birthday!!! And don't forget PM me your email address please.
  14. O.K. again, I still can't freakin believe I forgot to post yesterday. Happy Happy Birthday Janet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow I go to the fill nurse. I haven't decided if I want a fill. Sometimes I can't eat, sometimes I have no problem. So it's really a dilemma. Spelling dilemma was also a dilemma.
  15. OMG I'm such a loser, I didn't post yesterday. I'm so so sorry. Happy Belated Birthday Indio !! Happy Birthday Janet  Too bad we can't all go out and party this weekend. Hey ya know Tues. is Mardi Gras. I'll party for ya.
  16. Shacked up wit Uncle Ed, that's a hoot. I haven't gone to the dermo yet about the hives. I know he'll do a scratch test, so I have been eliminating items and trying to find the culprit on my own first. I rewashed all clothes with unscented Tide. They started around Jan. 1st. As I typed that I just realized, I may be allergic to 2008. As for food, maybe the first bite won't go down. I just had some gumbo, after a few bites I PBed, went back a few minutes later tried again with no problems. When I first start eating, it hurts like hell and it just won't go down. No matter how much I chew. My new kitty is running around the frontroom, and my Mischief is not liking this crap one bit. He is jealous!!! Like a 2yr old baby.
  17. Oh, I forgot some good news. We adopted a kitten last Sat. OMG, I love her. I could eat her up, but I'd probably PB.
  18. Hi Everybody, I'm way behind on reading all these posts. I hope I have time at work tomorrow. I have to go downstairs and wash clothes now. Phyl and Jackie - Ya'll are looking great gals!!! Kathy - I can't remember if I posted this, so sorry about your dad. I lost mine 2.5 years ago. Very hard. Me, DH, and the kids were always with my parents. Went everywhere with them. I miss him fierce. I have a fill appt. Thurs. No fill for me. I am so tight, I puke daily. I just can't figure out how to eat food. Am I trying to eat too much, am I not chewing enough? How do I know when to stop? Honestly, this is hard for me. I'm still getting hives every night, sometimes bad, sometimes light. I don't know what the hell going on.
  19. Jackie - Congratulations!!!! Karri - Great Job on the Exercise!!! I also have a mom whose been to the whitecoat academy, 3 times. The first time, I was 9yrs. I think that has a lot to do with my panic attacks. But she ain't never deprived me of food. Your story was so sad, and I thought my mom was a @#&*! If I lived around you, I'd throw you a birthday party. Phyl - It's medically proven wine is good for you. Your adding years to your life. It's as necessary as your vitamins. Twilight - Welcome and Happy Birthday! I'll tell my life weight story tomorrow. It's late and I gotta go to bed. Thanks to Ruby I'm dancing my way to the tub with..... Dance, ance ance Boogie Onederland I eee I eee eyeeeeee
  20. Brandy - I also use the Low Carb Slimfast. I eat the vanilla with my Raisin Bran Cereal instead of milk. I haven't seen them at Sam's, I'll look harder. Salsa - The Low Carb has the lowest carb count and the highest protien count of all the Slim Fast. I only like the van. It's 5 something for a 4 pack.
  21. Linda - On my 3rd or 4th fill, I can't remember, this is what happened. Fill, drank water was fine, drank coffee, fine, had a protien shake went to bed, fine. Next day, water, fine, ate Cream of Wheat, fine, then began have trouble with water. By night I couldn't swallow. Spit would not go down, and I had to spit in a cup all night. I went back to have some removed.
  22. 1) I am just really nosey now... what is everybodies Marital status...??? Married, 24 yrs 2) Does everyone live alone and cook for one?? Me, Hubby, 15/Son, 23/Daughter, 77/Mom 3) Who prepares family meals and who eats what they cook their family? Usually me, but daughter likes to cook a lot too If I can swallow what their having, I eat that. No bread, meats are hard to swallow too. I made red beans Sunday. That goes down nicely. I have only had serious restriction since Jan. 3rd 4) Or... do you prepare special meals just for your bandster self? I find something else in the house if I have to. I usually have Lean Cuisines on hand, Protien Shakes,
  23. Dini - You look fantastic!!!!! Who's the guy with you in the first picture? I read a little of the Ireland thread, I don't get it so I can't advise. The families watching a TV movie right now with Val Kilmer (Sp?) My daughter's teasing my husband cause she says he has a man crush on Val. If Val's in a movie, he's watching it.
  24. Very interesting poll. I'm never been asked to take off shoes at someone's house. It's just not something we do around here. However, if someone asked me, I'd have no problem with it. The thing is you'd have to ask, because it doesn't cross our minds around here, cause it's just not something we do. It's like eating mashed potatoes and gravy with a butter knife. We just don't do it that way. So you would have to show us your way. Another interesting poll I was part of in a class once was: Do you bathe or shower at night or in the morning? 35 people were polled and 4 said at night. I was floored and a bit grossed out. 31 people admitted they spend the day getting dirty and sweaty then get into a bed dirty, sleep dirty, then wake up and wash the dirt off. That absolutely is not allowed in my house. Our beds are clean, but our floor ain't.
  25. Salsa - I'm not a teacher anymore. I'm a Dean, which is disciplinarian, of a middle school. The job Sucks! I gotta go take some Ben. I'm freakin itching my skin off. Hives at 9:00pm like clockwork.
