  1. ok. I thought I was losing my mind. Im 4 weeks post op and have a terrible acne breakout. I'll take it any day! on the loser bench now folks!
  2. you're right Pete. unfortunately you and I both know that won't happen. lol
  3. thanks for the boost jai. I just expected bigger drops each week.
  4. down 27 lbs. I'll be honest and tell you that I'm a little disappointed. I lost only 2 lbs this week. still having trouble getting the protein in and my calories are probably under 600/day. just no appetite or desire to eat at all. I walk most days for about 30 mins. any suggestions to help me boost my loss? thx
  5. LoBee- this is absolutely normal. I'll be 3 weeks post op tomorrow and I'm just starting to get in my protein shakes. My issue was that I could not find a shake that was not sooo sweet. I finally bought one from my surgeons office that tastes ok. Now I can get 2 shakes down a day. Be patient and don't force your body. When it's ready, it will take the protein shakes in with no problem. I also found that thinning out the protein shakes with water helped me. Some of them are kindda thick. Best to you. It does get better!
  6. You look amazing! I'm only 2 weeks post op but all of the successes make it possible to get thru this tough transition ( on fluids still). You go girl! Work that sleeve!
  7. My doc recommended pepcid ac chewables. So far they're working.
  8. I'm 2weeks post op and tried ok for the first time yesterday. Not good. I diluted it, but it did not sit well in my tummy. I'm on a acid controller, but I think I will wait a while before I try it again.
  9. I'm on full liquids for 2 weeks (although my surgeon is extending that an additional week due to my trouble with getting fluids down still), 2 weeks thin puree, 2 weeks thick puree, 2 weeks soft foods then it's ok to reintroduce regular food back as tolerated. I'm hoping to be on regular food by my cruise Dec. 11th.
  10. Im still on full liquids, so I resorted to sipping dill pickle juice to satisfy my salt craving. OMG! did it hit the spot.
  11. I'm 2 weeks post op today and the gurgling has completely gone away. Keep you chin up, it does get better.
  12. @ Debsee - so glad to hear this is not uncommon. While another week on liquids did dampen my spirits. The number on the scale helped me feel better. I've got a long way to go, so one extra week on liquids isnt gonna kill me.
  13. Went for my two week follow-up appointment today. The good news, I'm down 19 lbs!!!! The bad news, I have to say on the liquid diet for one more week. I'm still having trouble getting the protein/fluids in. My surgeon thinks another week will give more time for my sleeve to heal. He says at 2 weeks I should be able to get more fluids in. It's frustrating, but in the end I know it's only what's best.
  14. I'm post op day 13 and have the same problem. I thought it was just me. Its very frustrating. I need a good night's sleep sooooo bad. Whhy do u think this is happening?
  15. Thank you all for the encouraging comments. I'm post op day 13 and feeling somewhat better. Still struggling with getting fluids in, but continuing to work on it.
  16. I'm 13 days post op and Ive noticed that everything is Too sweet. I'm still on full liquids so my options are limited but any fruit juice has to be diluted, premixed protein shakes r also super sweet to me. I brush my teeth constantly to get rid of the sweet taste in my mouth. I've never been a big sweets person, but I could definitely tolerate sugar better. Last night I took a couple of sips of pickle juice just to relieve my taste buds. My sleeve did fine with it. I love milk and notice that it's sweet too. Who knew?....
  17. I'm 13 days post op and notice that when it touch my stomach it feels funny, like kindda numb, almost like I've have a novacaine shoot in it. Anyone else have that feeling?
  18. It's post op day 11. And I am happy to report that things r looking up folks. Feeling stronger today and less crappy. I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hallelujah!!!
  19. Feeling a tad better today. Just gonna keep pluggin' away. Gotta get that Fluid and Protein in today folks!
  20. @Suzie - be sure 2 check with your doctor before you change anything to your diet. it may be ok, but just check first.
  21. @emily - good point about warm fluids. I do find that I can get tea, broth, hot chocolate down much better than just plain water. Today I had water with lemon and a little honey and it helped out a lot. We'll get thru this folks, and when we do- LOOK OUT!

  23. suez1105-I'm on full liquids which means soups are ok so long as they are thinned out and lump free. I'm having spasms too, so I literally have to calm myself down because the anxiousness I'm feeling certainly doesn't help the grumbellies. we'll get threw this and then when someone makes the comment ( when we r down 2 r goal wt) that we took the easy way out - we can punch their lights out! LOL!
  24. Thanks njmomof2 for the hug. (((( hug )))) back @ ya. sassy girl- can't wait to get 2 the greatness everyone describes. My belly sounds like a percolating coffee pot. lol
  25. mr smith - I'm sending my husband out to the grocery store as we speak. thanks so much for the tip.
