  1. HI there, Congrats on your 80, I have lost almost 75 - I am around 170lbs now. I would like to get to155lbs. So I have a bit of work to do still. I have had a lot of stalls then I lose sometimes up to 5lbs in a week after a stall. I have lost really slowly the past 6 weeks. I have had a consult for a corset tummy tuck and breast lift, which I hope to get done in January. I am working towards my goal weight to be ready for my next phase in life. Other than that I am super happy with my results and for making the decision to remove the band and go to the sleeve.

Can u still PB with the Seeve?

Hi Kajun, Yes I have had this happen to me, it was very painful. I just felt the need to throw it up - I hadnt thrown up since I had the band removed (6 months prior to sleeve, Nov '13). As we know with banding a 'PB' comes up without having to do much. But man, it was so difficult to bring back up and felt more like a vomit then anything else. It hurt, so I want to avoid that now and try not to let my head hunger get bigger than my new little stomach hunger.... good luck!

    Just In Time!

Wonderful news Mal! Your 'tone' in your post I feel you have written with a smile. So glad you are finally on the mend - Happy Birthday too, you're just a spring chicken!!
  4. I just spoke with my dietician yesterday and mentioned dumping syndrome to her too. She said it is more common with gastric bypass, but that doesn't say it cant happen to sleeve patients. We know our bodies best and my feelings are that it couldnt be impossible?

    Almost 3 weeks post op!

I too was sleeved on the 9th and since surgery I have lost 11lbs like you. I lost some on the pre op diet so I am happy with my total loss so far. What I am most pleased about is that I have broken the triple digit mark (I now weigh less than 100kg!! and am only in double digits - btw I live in Australia I know what you mean about being so busy, or maybe too busy, my kids are aged 10, 3 and 11 months. I only just went back to work today after surgery but cant complain having had such a good break/recovery. My 10 yr old and my biggest child (husband) have been super helpful, so that has taken the pressure off. But picking up my 3 yr is hard, he is too big and heavy so soon after surgery. I am a total shocker when it comes to the scales as I weigh daily - although there isnt a loss every day, it is consistently going down. The scale and I are friends now cos its going down as opposed to only ever going up. I think though, if you're experiencing incision pain, that's definitely a cue that you need to take it a little bit easier on yourself. Take care and all the best on your journey!
  6. I am only 3 weeks post op and have thought perhaps I have been experiencing some dumping syndrome. Firstly, I have had diarrhea since surgery - but some foods react worse, making me have to make a dash for it. But it's still all new. The other thing I have been experiencing is bad break outs...I am almost 40 years old and breaking out like a hormonal teenager?!?!? I hope this too shall pass and my body will just need to calm down a bit so i will stick it out, before changing my skincare of the last 10 yrs, or some other change to figure things out.

    Hardest thing for you?

Head hunger and all I have craved in the last three weeks since surgery is a diet coke!
  8. Hi fellow Aussies, I thought I'd say hello again and see how you're all going. I broke 100kg this morning, so I am a happy camper! Only 25kg to go...but to be back in double digits was my first goal, so I am pretty chuffed....good luck with all your journeys!
  9. Hi, What is an omega loop pass and who is your surgeon in Perth? Did you have much success with the sleeve?
  10. Hi there, I live in WA - but at the top end, so although Perth is my capital city, by kilometre I am actually closer to Brisbane. I had a band to sleeve revision 10 days ago in Perth. I am back home now and have lost 4kg - only 1 kg away from double digits...wahoo!!
  11. I am the complete opposite, I have too many bowel movements and have had marathon trips to the bathroom! I have had diarrhoea since surgery. No pains just quick abrupt runs to get there in time. The upside is I believe this will help me with losing.
  12. HI all, I am three days post op, I feel I can drink far too much. I am on full liquids and was able to drink a whole cup of Soup for dinner. I was definitely satisfied with the cup, but am worried I do not have enough restriction. I am a bit worried that I may be one of the statistics that a sleeve doesn't work for. I know it's very early days but it's hard not to worry.
  13. Oh dear Marmello, that doesn't sound good. I am on 3 diff nausea and indigestion medications to prevent any sick feeling. All preventative, as I haven't had any so far. Couldn't be good for your internal staples/stitches.
  14. I'm still in hospital. No specific reason, dr does 2 night stay minimum. As I have flown down and will be discharged to a friends house till I fly home, dr said I could stay an extra night. The nurses have been great, hardly bothered me - waited on for meals (a Water product of some kind) - motorised bed to help get up and movie channels. So I'm glad I stayed an extra night. I feel well rested. I will be discharged this morning. I'm not sure of the volume I can drink yet, since i have been on clear fluids whilst still here in hospital. There are so many sweet things on the menu I just can't drink them, so off putting. So I have only been drinking the broth which is less than a cup. I still feel hungry but the thought of the sweet Jello or juice is off putting. But I have managed. I am very bruised. My incisions are black and blue, thankfully not too sore. Won't be able to weigh myself till I fly home on Tuesday. Fingers crossed the scales are kind!
  15. I am now 2 days post op and like you have been surprised how much Fluid I could consume at first. But now, I have had half a cup of broth and half a cup if black coffee and I am feeling satisfied. It's strange, but was concerning for me too at first. I can't believe it's happened and am now going to be only seeing weight go down. I am excited, I only hope I don't lose too quick as I don't want people to ask too many questions. No one except for my husband knows I have had this surgery. I think the little caffeine boost from the coffee is kicking in, making me feel awesome this morning. All the best on your weight loss journeys!!
