  1. I had my surgery in San Diego in May. I just moved to the Akron area and wanted to know if there are any sleeve support groups nearby? I only got to attend one in San Diego before I moved and found it to be very helpful.
  2. chocolate silk milk Light- low calorie, good Protein and delicious. I make my shakes with it.
  3. My doctor told me that sometimes you will have a bad reaction to a food, but then try it again in a month and many times you will find you can tolerate it. So don't lose hope of having rich chocolate, just try it when you will be home next time. I was doing that with milk, I thought I had become lactose intolerant but now I find that while milk still doesn't agree with me, I can have some cheeses. Good luck and I am glad you haven't experience any more symptoms.
  4. Did you by chance have coffee? I am 3 months out and coffee always gives me diarrhea (I only have it at home when I know I am not going anywhere for at least two hours). Luckily this is the only thing that has done it so far, but it is pretty violent when it does. I am quite sure if a bathroom were not immediately available, I could have an accident.
  5. I was denied by my insurance as well. I did not appeal because I had a friend who actually had more criteria met than I did and was denied on her appeal (Kaiser So Cal). I chose to self pay and let me tell you, it was the greatest thing I have ever done for myself. Don't get me wrong, in the first few weeks I wondered aloud several times if I had done the right thing. But I am now three months out and 63 pounds down.. I have moved out of the obesity category and into the overweight category. I feel great and can eat most anything I want (and yes, I am finding it easy to make good choices). Once you start losing the weight and see the health benefits it is easy to choose the good stuff. I hope you get approval on your insurance, but if you don't please don't give up. I looked at it like a car loan, only this "vehicle" must last me a lifetime. It is scary, I know. But with a good doctor and staff and this support board you will find that it is easier than you think. Good luck to you!
  6. You look amazing. I was sleeved in San Diego on May 4, 2010 and amazingly my weight loss is exactly the same as yours at 3 months! I hope my after shot is as great as yours! Congratulations!!!
  7. My favorite is one called "whey to go" chocolate flavor. I mix it with the light chocolate silk milk. I am pretty picky myself and it is delicious. My friend uses "whey delicious" chocolate flavor and I have tried hers and love it.
