  1. I am 3 years out and am still on a daily Prevacid extended release. Interestingly, if I follow a true VSG diet of very high protein and little to no carbs, the heartburn is viscious. The more carbs I eat, the less heartburn, which sucks for my diet! I would very much like to get off the PPI as long term use just INCREASES acid
  2. woah over $300?!! the web advert said $49 bucks!! Yeesh ... I have found, oddly, that juniors plus sizes fit really really well. They have no waist and skinny legs, even in the pluses so a junior 13 fits me just right.
  3. if you really want a sexy a$$ and wan to feel sexy, tango!! Seriously, you can always tell a tango dancer whether male or female by the shape of their rear - a taut, wide, upside down heart. Makes sense, you spend hours lunging backwards and flexing your core muscles for balance.
  4. Pics, life in pink - we need pics!!
  5. I wonder if you would mind posting again at say 3 or 4 months out, so we could see what healing looks like? With some of the cost being covered by insurance, what were your total out of pocket costs? Did they lipo any of the sides of your body or back? I would need the "tube" lipo'd, the side-boobage (you all know what I mean) and the bra back rolls otherwise I would end up with the wings a previous poster mentioned. I would want a reduction and lift, AND have them fluffed out a little with some fat harvested from lipo'd areas!
  6. Oh I am all about the ginger chews, they are the only thing that has ever really worked against my motion sickness. As for food, I am all about the plain greek yogurt, Brown Cow is the best. Also sardines, tuna, whole chickens that I roast and disassemble, protein powder (it can be added to SO much, not just made into shakes), shrimp, and Quest bars.
  7. Yesterday I got in 1200 cals but still only hit 90g protein, gah!! @Fiddle, I have some gold standard casein protein but it makes me break out in painful cystic pimples so it's a no go. I took 2 days off from the gym and feel like a worthless slug and I'm going on week 3 of weights-focus and I am SO puffy bloated! I suck down water and my throat feels like dust, I crave protein now, I'm not hungry and its not head hunger, I just WANT protein.
  8. Just in case anyone is interested, there are a lot of options online for custom made jeans and they aren't any more expensive than a pair bought in the store. You can have them made to your exact measurements.
  9. I know your husbands not an a******, I was frustrated in general and it sorta 'sploded on the thread *sheepish*
  10. Thank you Art, now if only I could get people I know in person to get this, and men.
  11. It really makes me fly into a rage when I hear things like, "and hubby won't snip snip" Oh, is that so?!! That @$%^***ing @#$hole won't have a minimally invasive surgery that is REVERSIBLE, but is perfectly willing to make you go through serious surgery?!! FU** THAT NOISE!! Always, always fu**ing willing to offer us up on a god da** platter, but one whiff of effort or discomfort on their part and suddenly it's absolutely not. You know why medical (male) professionals are against the male birth control pill? Because of the side effects of blood pressure, stroke, clots ... the samn GD side effects that we are susceptible to, but heaven for FU**ING bid the MEN experience any danger!! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU** Sorry, I'm kinda frustrated right now :/
  12. I am having a really hard time hitting my new IIFYM taget of 1545 cals. I can unfortunately hit the carb level no problem, but cals and protein is difficult. Today for example I just cannot bring myself to eat, just no appetite and what I do eat just sits in my chest. So I've only had 460 calories today, it's after lunch, which means dinner will have to be like, 600 calories of pure protein and fiber. I was also more than usually tired yesterday and did NOT go to the gym ... feel like the aforementioned slug - The Triple S :/
  13. I always feel invisible, I always feel voiceless. People speak for me, literally. It's like I'm not here. Like there's no point in my being here. Like I'm screaming in a soundproof booth, banging my fists, and people are just walking on by, not noticing or caring. Unless it is men wanting to fu** me now. v_v
  14. Apparently RxY ers have that situation as well.
  15. As I've mentioned, my food resources here are very limited, I did have a tin of sardines today, from my carefully hoarded stash. But the veggies at the difac are overboiled medley, some raw cabbage and cucumbers sometimes, fruit is plums grapes and kiwis sometimes pears, protein is sometimes turkey wings, sometimes chicken breasts, sometimes trout. Everything else is breaded/deep fried/loaded with salt and fat.
  16. PICS, COOPS - PICS!!!! It takes 6 months for swelling to completely go away and we can't wait that long!
  17. No avocadoes available, no nuts. If you read the thread, you will see my odd circumstances.
  18. Before I ever heard of VSG I heard of DS and I researched it for about a year, and had decided that if I ever got surgery, that would be the one. Then (luckily) I heard about VSG and the rest is history but, aware as I am of all possible complications, I never heard of the ones you mentioned! The exception rather then the rule I would think? DSers definitely get to goal and beyong though.
  19. BTW creatine is quite the explosive topic, I brought it up to a bunch of my soldier buddies and they scorned creatine and creatine-assisted muscles, saying that it's nothing but Water and as soon as you stop taking the supplement or stop lifting, you deflate. That creatine muscles aren't *real* muscles. Thoughts?
  20. I "discovered" sardines a few months ago and I LOVE them! So good for us, full of MUFAs, omega-3s, protein, not to mention super tasty! I eat them straight, on some saltines, but I found a recipe today that I cannot wait to try - mashed avocado and lemon juice, topped with some sardines, sprinkled with green onion and chli flakes. The recipe has this on toast points but we could put it on cucumber rounds instead, or Kim's Magic Pop or even as the filling to a lettuce burrito. yum!!
  21. Oh I have plenty of those, I have 3 full boxes! But I cannot live on Quest bars alone, tasty as they are, and I have to make those 3 boxes last me 10 months.
  22. I have worked out faithfully for one month now, taking maybe 4 days off in that entire time. About 10 days ago I started focusing on weight training and cardio instead of just cardio. I feel good, I can feel myself getting stronger, having better balance, but I'm also *up* 4 pounds and when I take my socks off at night I have imprinted ridges and a sock "waist" indentation around my shin. What the??
  23. I started the IIFYM last week, prior to IIFYM I averaged about 800 cals, now its about 1000, and the IIFYM wants me at 1545 cals, 41 carbs, 191 protein (!!), and a whopping 40g fiber! For about 2 weeks now I have really focused on weight training and I have *gained* 4 pounds, don't know what will happen now that I'm throwing higher cals etc. into the mix. I'm nowhere near IIFYM yet but still ... I am so scared of eating a lot!
