    The beginning

Good Luck Kelly and I will be praying for you and your family. I have been down that road and I can relate to what you are saying. I was sleeved on Feb 22, 2010 and to date have a total loss of 21 pounds and counting. You will love your sleeve as I do mine. Take care and keep in touch.

    2 day before surgery 2/22/10...

Well, I did it! So far I lost a total of 20 pounds. But, I'm afraid that I'm eating too fast! I'm eating 4oz of soft food and will eat it in less than 20 minutes. Depending on what I'm eating, my stomach will tell me to slow it down! Today I will start pacing myself to stretch it to 30 mins. Good luck to all of us!

  7. Hello,

I'm doing well. I had a little problem keeping my fluids down after surgery because of the gas! OMG, it was terrible but I made it through. So far I lost a total of 20 pounds!

Thank you very much...Also, I've followed your progress and you are doing so well. Thanks for the encouragement.
  9. part 2: I'm 4 weeks out and still dealing with it. They have put me on aspirin daily and hot packs on my arm to try to disolve it. From what I've been told it can last for months. Fortunately I don't think it's very common, and there is no known cause for it. My doc says sometimes they happen from the needle knicking the inside of the vein and others times they just occur fron trama to the veins.

Best wishes to you tomorrow. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers as I know it can be very scary and nerve wracking. Let me know how you are doing.

  10. Hi Vickey. Welcome to the forums and congratulations on your susrgery date tomorrow. I'm sure you will do just fine. The first week can be a little uncomfortable but for the part everyone sails through it pretty quickly. I'm one of the few who developed a blood clots as result of the IV used during surgery. I don't think it's real common but just one of those things that can happen from surgery. After I was home from having my sleeve I noticed a lump on my arm about 5 inches above the area where they had put my IV. It became very sore and bruised feeling and I ended up in the ER only to discover I had blood clots all the way from my wrist to my elbow.

Hello VS family! Reading your blogs answered all of my questions and I want to thank you all for taking the time out to post your experiences. You just don't know how much I appreciate it. My surgery is tomorrow 2/22/10 and I'm a little scared. I just want everything to go well because I'm ready for a healthier me. I know that I've made the right decision and as always I'm putting myself in gods hand and ask that he bless and guide the doctors during my surgery. I believe in the power of prayer and ask that you say a prayer for me. Thank you and I will keep all of you posted on my progress. Thanks for the support! :w00t:

    Four Weeks Out

Good Luck to you. I'm due to have surgery tomorrow at 9:30am and I'm hoping that everything goes well. Tell me, what clot issue did you have? I know about the risk, but was just wondering what issue did you have.
