  1. Thanks for sharing! Cool Pic. I was wondering what it looked like.
  2. FabBy50, Thank God you are okay and got a tummy tuck out of it! And Barbara that was tooo funny!!! I didn't know about the Big or also known as "Granny Panties". I will have to get some tomorrow!
  3. Hi Laurie! Welcome to VST. I am scheduled to be sleeved on the 19th....one more day......I am ready to be a post-oper!!! LOL We should keep in touch since we will be only a week away from each other. Talk to you soon.
  4. Hi Maddie! I think if your surgeon is STRONGLY recommending it then you should go for it. I know how if feels to be scared. I am scared too. I only have 2 more days.....so you know I am scared. But if you don't have the surgery and continue to loose this battle with weight (no pun intended)...then you will have too many possible serious issues to be so young. I think you parents would be scared but I believe they are scared for you now walking around carrying all of that extra weight. As a parent, when you kids are in pain, you are in pain! I think once you get happy...they will really be happy for you. Good luck with your decision.
  5. Lee, I did the same exact thing as you!! Exact. My surgery is scheduled for 3 days from now. I am just at a point in my life that I don't want any negativity. I am making a decision for me! Everyone else has not walked in my shoes and battled this weight their entire lives!! So unless you can tell me you struggled your entire life and suffered the same social ways I suffered!! So I too, only told a few people and told my job I was have a "surgical procedure" recommended by my doctor to allevate pain I have been experiencing!!!! They do not need to know the pain has been mental pain my entire life and some physical pain..(back, shoulders, etc...) Good luck to you!!!
  6. I am so happy for you JeepChickie! I am supposed to be sleeved on the 19th! Can't wait! Keep up the speedy recovery!!!!
  7. Good luck to you both!! I know you will do fine. As everyone else said, "Keep us posted".
  8. Great to hear you are doing well! Dang, you did do everything at once! Good for you! I wish you continued progress.
  9. Thank you all. This helps tremendously!!!
  10. Thank you VegasAngel. So many people have told me that they are too sweet. I guess I should try them before the surgery. Good thing I didn't buy too many of them.
  11. Thanks VegasAngel. Happy Birthday. Yes, the 19th of January is a good day. I am anxious, nervous, excited, etc... I planned to take 9 days off and didn't know if that was enough with all of this talk about being weak and nausea. Scary stuff. I bought some "protien bullets" from a place called iBariatric that have 45g of protien in a 3 ounce tube. I didn't know how soon I could drink them though.
  12. I was just wondering how long did most of you take off from work? I am scheduled to have my sleeve done on Jan. 19th. I work in a school and wonder how long should I take off.
  13. Thanks Tiff!!!! You are such a positive, inspiring person!! Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge and inspiring us all!!!!!
  14. Thanks for the info. I am going to order one too. How long after the surgery shculd I wait to put it on??? (Sore, etc...????)
  15. Dang!!! I wish I lived close to John Hopkins!!!!
  16. Congratulations Bambi! I am also scheduled for the 19th of this month! Here's to a healthy, happy 2010!!!!!!!
  17. Thanks Tiff!!! That really put my mind at ease! Thanks again for the information!
  18. Amerigirl, Thank you for asking that question. I was wondering the same thing. I wanted to know is there a risk of stretching the stapled portion to cause a leak after the 6 week stage? One year later, two years later?? etc.... I am 39 years old and don't want to worry about possible leaks when I am 50. Help. I am nervous! My sleeve is scheduled for the 19th of January. As the day approaches...I am more nervous about the irreversible part!
