  1. I'm 4.5 months out and just started to notice hair in the shower, sink and in the comb. I have pretty thick hair but it feels thinner to me. Not worried, it will grow back.
  2. The breathing apparatus is a hand held plastic hose with little balls inside a connected piece, (weird description) that you inhale as hard as you can and make the balls go up to the top. All to make you use all your lung function post op when it is so important to prevent blood clots. You want to keep from having shallow breathing as much as possible. Also walking is very important.
  3. I am so sorry you are having a rough time and knocked out with trying to get something in your new stomach. It is swollen and cranky right now, I had ice chips at first, tried warm first but couldn't get it down and ice felt better. Atleast I got something down. My stomach spasmed also, I actually rubbed it to calm down the muscle. Please don't quit trying to hydrate, it is extremely important. Popsicles also, anything clear, some sleevers didn't worry about protein, just hydrate. Keep pushing to find something that you can stand. IT WILL GET BETTER!
  4. I have always loved riding a bike and when we go to KW that's all we use. I need to get my bike out again for my country roads. There are some hills though which are killer but could use the variety. Good idea Lan2k.
  5. I am definitely trying this, sounds yummy and we both love gravy!

I definitely will get more of her albums and when I told my daughter about it she said Oh, I love her. I am so out of it when it comes to music, and there are so many new ones that I am way behind. Now if you are talking about the Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Doobies, 70's music I get it.

I have found a new artist India Arie with her CD Testimony: Vol 1 and her voice is so beautiful and her message so uplifting. But specifically her song Private Party is right on with me. She is celebrating her body and just being a woman and sounded right on with my sleeve journey. If you need a beautiful message listen to her album.
  8. You look amazing!!! Smokin. Almost to goal and so soon.
  9. Kathy, I see, you are still waiting! Terrible timing for all of this but hope everyone gets their operation soon..it will happen! Say hi to Dr. Aceves and his wonderful crew for me. Linda (that was funny about Yolanda being an aggresive driver!!!)
  10. Ichef, Thank you for updating us on the conditions in Mexicali. I was worried bc a 7.2 is a good sized earthquake and expected some serious damage. Glad no one was hurt so far and hope you get home soon. This is the second earthquake in a few months but this one was very close to Mexicali. Take care. Anyone else from the forum there?
  11. I'm like Thin, I still feel hunger too. At first maybe it was stomach acid but as time goes on I still feet it and have to put something on my stomach. That is the important part, putting good food in and not grab a quick snack. When I am getting my fluids in between my meals it seems to flush out my stomach and I get hungry faster...go figure. I am still losing nicely, not quickly but I am fine with that and happy I did this. I cannot overeat!
  12. So glad you are on the other side katt, I remember feeling its all up to me bf surgery and not knowing what MY body would do was scary. What a relief to have it behind you and on to your new body!
  13. Oregon you've earned the right to have multiple guys! Live it up. I don't see as many guys worrying about this issue so you shouldn't either. If they like it and they want it "put a ring on it!" lol
  14. I had a really tough time getting fluids and protein in as I should and sometimes felt no energy and dragging all the time. I always felt I was pushing fluids so hard and still didn't make it so I drank vitamin drinks that had more carbs than I wanted but knowing how little calories you are getting in overall it certainly didn't stop my weight loss. Some sleevers only worried about getting in fluids and not the protein in the first few weeks, very important to stay hydrated. Even now, at 4 months I am still watching my fluids, my urine is still concentrated at times and have to keep pushing. My protein is good tho, and keep taking your vitamins.
  15. Cafe Du Monde! I love New Orleans!!!! My husband and I ate at The Court of Two Sisters last time there and loved the food. Of course bf I had the sleeve. Good for you having a treat of a beignet, (trust your spelling), you have to have a treat!
  16. I am so glad you are feeling better, that sounds like you were in so much pain! Hope all stays quiet for you to heal and be on your way.
  17. Talk about slip ups, I made some really good soup and my husband wanted Grandys biscuits so I made them and I tried a couple bites and ended up eating a whole biscuit! I couldn't imagine not suffering with this slip up but it went down so well! Scary.
  18. I am so sorry you got the drainage bag irritated. Maybe it will feel so much better if the doctor takes it out. Its a funny feeling but once its gone I think you will feel better. Hope it is smooth sailing from now on. Congratulations!
  19. Cajun, wow you have amost lost 100lbs!!! Good for you! I just can't imagine losing that much. I would be happy with 80lbs. We shall see.
  20. WAY TO GO!!!!!!! I am so jealous. Did it about kill you? I try to keep jogging on the treadmill and some days good and some my right knee says no. I want to jog so bad!

Let there be peace in your family!!! Have a safe trip.
  22. I am very happy with my sleeve and do not regret anything. I can have anything I want, still can't eat too much dense meat, doesn't sit well on my stomach, even in small amounts but get plenty of chicken and fish and greens in also. I don't know if this is just me but when I am most hungry and grazing all day, (good things), then I drop a pound or two. Like my body lets go of the weight, even after I eat so much! I'm not complaining!! Love my sleeve!
  23. I feel so bad for you, I too had nausea on the second day, could not get all the blue dye down and the day I left I was miserable. We stayed an extra day at the hotel and I walked the halls and had ice chips which helped. Something cold felt better on my tummy. It will get better!!! Every day you will be amazed at how much better you feel. Prayers and hugs to you. Linda
  24. So happy for you Nikki, I can feel your excitement! You will get there I have no doubt! You are lookin GOOD!
  25. We bought the nexium mups at the pharmacy right across the street from the hospital and it was I believe for $80 for 40mg, which I halved for the dose of 20mg per day per Dr. Aceve. Didn't need an RX for it either. The mups dissolve in water. He likes you to stay on the mups until about 3 months for precaution, instead of pills, but you might check again with Dr. Aceves staff.
