Congratulations on your sleeve. About the pill, could you not break it in two? Seems you could possibly get a whole pill down with the same method instead of breaking it in two? I have a horse pill to get down and do it with a full mouth swallow. It does go down. Keep sipping and welcome to the bench!

Stress is so harmful and sometimes you just don't realize how your body is reacting to it. I used to deal with stress by eating like you but maybe it revs up your metabolism even more and now that you are a lean person burns off more calories? Wish you could turn off that stress! I wish you good peaceful thoughts!
  3. 10K, wow! You are makeing some serious goals, Good Luck!!!

How about the issues with your low BP? Are you feeling good even tho you lost again? I am sorry your body is not done losing but keep eating the increased calories and I know it will settle in soon. You must hate your scale!
  5. Take me with you!! Key West is my favorite place. We rent bikes for transportation and have the best time. I am so jealous! Have a margarita for me at Sloppy Joes. I'll be looking for you in their bar cam.
  6. Well JUST doing those two workouts is tough. I did a couple zumba classes and it was twisting my knees too much. Maybe when I lose more weight it will get easier.
  7. Too funny Thin and I know what you mean about still feeling you are in a size 20 body. Just doesn't seem possible you can fit in the smaller sizes. I'm in a size 16 straight leg jean and the legs are a tad big, still dealing with a pad of circular fat below my waist that bugs me. No butt but this pad, go figure.
  8. Good for you in getting back in the jogging mode. You are a lot younger than me and I bet you will be running marathons this summer!
  9. O.K. I jogged for 4 times of a minute each and walked for 3 minute segments and my right knee was calling me at the end. I have to be careful with that but I still work out 4 x a week. I saw Al Roker works out on his treadmill everyday and then ices one of his knees...humm do want to baby my knee, would hate to ruin it. Anyone else fear that? Anyone have an incline in the treadmill?
  10. What a fun time for you and who were the men that were crazy hitting on you? You did wear your wedding ring didn't you!! I just had a great St. Paddy's day bike ride to Nashville and what fun! Cheers!
  11. I think I know what you mean but certainly I have a long way to go bf that happens for me. It sounds like the day after you run the marathon you have been prepping for over a year and now what do you do? You look for another challenge I guess but don't forget about us, o.k.? I can't tell you how much your encouragement and knowledge has helped me and so many of us here.
  12. Congrats, and you look amazing! Are you still jogging on the treadmill? So happy for you!
  13. Congratulations!! It sounds like it was a beautiful, intimate wedding and you both looked so handsome and happy!
  14. Shontel, you go girl, keep sucking in that oxygen!!
  15. Congratulations Garyb on your surgery. I am glad you are on your way! Post of your journey when you can. Isn't Dr. Aceves group wonderful?
  16. Thin, bet you dropped some weight too!! Glad you are cleaned out, it makes such a difference when all is "working".
  17. I take prevacid in the am also and by the end of the day have more hunger pangs, especially when I am drinking my water to get in all my fluids. It seems to flush out my stomach and creates that empty feeling, don't know how else to describe it. I ignore it most times but feel that would be the time I could cheat bf going to bed. Would love to hear from other users about upping the dose?
  18. Love the big numbers! I need a second hand for outside also. Just hope I keep getting enough oxygen to keep jogging!!!
  19. You can get the Jamba Juice after security so it is with you on the plane if you want. I was nervous about the flight also and did the walk up the aisle a couple times, my flight went to Charlotte and I was really fine with it but was sooo gladdd to be home in my bed. Get a med to relax you if need, Dr. Aceves will help you with that. Maybe a Xanax? Don't project problems for yourself,(I know how to do that also). :thumbup1:
  20. The best to you both, you are going to be in good hands with Dr. Aceves and his staff. By the way, we stayed an extra night at the hotel in San Diego and was so glad of it! At the airport there was a Java Juice that made the best clear fruit juice slushy, no seeds, felt so good on my tummy. Nursed that for hours. Good Luck!

Good luck Kelly, I know you are on your way to a new life!
  22. Glad you are feeling better and so glad you were at the hospital where they could take care of you!
  23. I was sleeved by Dr. Aceves and yes he uses a JP drain with a bag for the drain, not a big deal and it was removed on the second or third day. The stitches dissolve on their own. You will have 5 port scars that you need to keep clean. I washed with soap and covered with derm tape. The large scar took the longest to heal but within 2 weeks I think it was healed. No other aftercare except certain vitamins to take and at 3 months he advises a complete bloodwork screening and an upper GI ordered by your primary doctor. He will give you your x-rays to take home with a dictated letter explaining what surgery he did for your doctor. You may have questions for Gaby who does the patient followup questions for Dr. Aceves and they are very prompt getting back to you. I had the best care there and the staff was wonderful! Some of the sleevers here go to a dietician for diet and others also join bariatric support groups if they have one in their area. I would like to join a group here locally but thank goodness I can come on this forum for now to get my questions answered. I could not have done this without this help. Feel free to ask any more questions and good luck!!
  24. Glad you are on the other side and doing well. Sounds like the infiltrating was painful and know you could have used the nausea and pain meds but glad its behind you. Onward on your journey!!
  25. We are all thinking of you and will be making room on the losers bench for you. Dr. Aceves and his staff are wonderful and will take good care of you. I was there in December. Post when you can.
