Couch 2 5K
Shontel, I tried the couch to 5k today and did not do the full 8 jogs, only 3 and I was so winded! I had just been in the pool doing a very good work out there and felt I was warmed up but it wasn't happening. I did pump the speed up to 3.9 for walking but it is a kick butt work out. I know I can do it!!! I have to do this!!! Keep us going Shontel and Jachut.

My 1st Workout: Couch-2-5K
Shontel, Way to go!!! I have been doing sporadic jogging and huffing and puffing myself and know how hard it is to get motivated to keep going but that program sounds like I should try it. KEEP IT UP!!! I'm right behind you.

Coffee... How Naughty, Really?
Coco, I'm not sure when you can start coffee again but have heard that caffeine can dehydrate you and that is the reason you shouldn't have it early out when getting all your liquids in is difficult. I am 3 1/2 months out and drink 1/2 caff and decaf every morn with lots of soy milk to up protein. It was so good to start that again!. Love your daisy and you ticker!

Anyone come home the same day?
I think this comes down to insurance not wanting to pay for the extra days and remember when this happened with staying in the hospital after maternity delivery and sending the new mothers home the next day. Sometimes it worked, sometimes complications and you take chances going home early. If you feel you will be O.K. with this I hope you are right. Personally I was not ready to leave the hospital until day 3 and could not have gone home the next day after surgery; Its a major surgery and you are left with the followup care yourself. That's just my opinion and I know there are several who swear this isn't a problem and it isn't until something goes wrong. I do wish you well and hope for a smooth easy recovery.

The noises
Well I am going to say it...tmi but burping was not the only thing that surprised me AND my husband. I never did that in front of him but just could not help it. He would say Babe..... I said WHAT, can't help it. Dr. Aceves gave me high five in the hospital so must be doing something right. It thankfully has gotten back to normal, 3 months out and I can act like a lady again.:drool5:

Is it just me?
Tiffy, hormone hell describes me at times. Never used to speak up on things too much but now, look out. My daughter said Mom your cranky and pita. I have to say I like being able to voice my opinions, very freeing. I can still say things with humor but the thought gets across! My husband just looks at me, boundaries shifting slightly.

Endoscopy results? What does it mean?
I know how frustrated you must be but you do not want this surgery until your stomach is healed. It is so fortunate that your doctor found this out bf jumping into an operation like this. Do you have to take nsaids? I'm hoping they can find the problem and heal your stomach so you can go forward healthier. Everything happens for a reason. Hugs to you on hearing good news.

Shocker!!
I think you will check one day soon and drop 2-3 lbs, your body is still adjusting to this drastic change. Are you getting all your protein in? I found if I upped my protein by body let go of the weight, also water which is still a challange. I was out walking 2 miles the other day and my legs turned to jello and I thought wth! I was dehydrated and hit the wall!!

Pork rinds?
Loser, Have you not been taking any meds for acids? I would have had some serious problems with my stomach if not on Nexium. Bought 2 months supply in Mx but now on otc prevacid and I know I couldn't go off them any time soon. Maybe in the future, I am 3 months out.

How are you feeling???
I am 3 months out and I definitely feel so much better each month, more energy and physically feel good since I am working out at the gym, pool 3 x a week atleast. I have a treadmill at home also but the gym really focuses me. I still would like to sometimes drink a tall glass of cold water and I can drink about 3 good swallows but no more. I would say at 2 months out I was pretty back to normal. My health is so improved, no snoring, don't take bp meds and the weight is steadily falling off which is fine with me. I want my skin to have a chance to catch up. I don't forget my 3 vitamins daily and need to find a good calcium pill. Hate to take pills though. I think you will start to feel better when you get all your protein and fluids in, it is hard at first and requires the most effort but it does get easier. Good luck!

Need advice
I got that at first, almost like a spasm that had to relax. Usually I drank too fast instead of sipping. Maybe some warm liquids/tea would feel better? My stomach felt like a ball for a few seconds until it relaxed. It gets much better later on. Let your surgeon know if it becomes too painful.

My Journey
Good luck on getting in touch with the real you! I still pass the mirror and look sideways at myself afraid that I still look the same weight. But its such a great feeling to see the new you, like seeing an old friend again, atleast for me, its been a long time coming!
