Hi everyone I just had my surgery done 02/18/2010 down 15lbs and I feel great but there's only one problem every time I drink something I get a very bad pain :sad0: down my throat all the way to my stomach that makes me gasp for air or I just walk it out and I just want to know is that normal...:biggrin0:

Welcome to VST and congratulations on your surgery.

I guess I'm a little unsure of what you are describing. Could it be that you are drinking too fast or taking too big of gulps and not "sipping," which lets in air? I know the first month for me both eating and drinking were uncomfortable, but I'm just not sure I had what you're describing...not that your feeling isn't normal for some.

It definitely wouldn't hurt to give your surgeon's office a call. Good luck and I hope it resolves itself soon. Keep us posted.

I got that at first, almost like a spasm that had to relax. Usually I drank too fast instead of sipping. Maybe some warm liquids/tea would feel better? My stomach felt like a ball for a few seconds until it relaxed. It gets much better later on. Let your surgeon know if it becomes too painful.

I also had the same pain if drinking too fast or too much at once!!!
