Today is my 1 month surgiversary!
This morning I had to take my husband's car, instead of mine. (Long story and not pertinent, lol). We are about the same height, but I always had to move the seat further away from the steering wheel because of my belly.
Well, today, I got behind the wheel and there's 1 1/2 inches between my stomach and steering wheel. I didn't have to reach down to move the seat back!!!!
That is progress I can see even if I don't feel it too much in my clothes yet.

I don't know why, but my mind has changed a lot since being sleeved. I barely pay attention to people around me at restaurants, because I am there to enjoy a meal out and the company of whoever is with me. But if I notice someone being blatantly rude, I will ask to be moved to a different seat. Remember you are the patron there, and it's their job to make YOU happy and give you a good experience. Also, I have learned to handle the Servers differently when questioned about my small amounts. I ask for a go box then immediately go back to talking or whatever i was doing. I don't continue looking at them for more conversation or make them feel they have the right to question me. If I am questioned, I say "I'm full" then I smile and look away. That is the only thing they need to know, I don't have to make excuses to them. They don't have to know WHY I am full. I am sure naturally thin people don't have to explain why they don't want more food. But what it sounds like happened to me, is this lady was obviously jealous of your self-control with your portions and wanted to act like she had it. So basically she was jealous and insecure. There are a lot of people in this world who we will never make happy. As someone else said, this is the same person that would make snide remarks if we ate a lot of food too. That's because they are unhappy with themselves, and I have learned and accepted that I don't have to make everyone happy, nor do I need others approval. That has been a struggle for me, because I've been a "people pleaser" all of my life due to childhood issues of abandonment and neglect. It's an adjustment, but it gets easier as we get used to our new eating lifestyle.

feeling guilty doesn't change anyone else's status that isn't doing well - in fact, it might make THEM feel bad that you feel guilty that you're doing well. Never feel guilty about success you earned. You didn't do anything to them to get to where you are! I'm quite certain you weren't going around poking leaky holes in people's sleeves!
There's a difference between celebrating your success and rubbing it in someone's face. Just do the former, and not the latter

I too have always been just one of the guys. You have to be true and honorable to yourself. It can be an odd adjustment to the attention, but if its too much for you or it isn't the correct attention a man should be paying to a married woman, you need to speak up. Please don't disrespect your husband or yourself by keeping silent about it.

A big reason to do weights before cardio is to preserve form. You can easily injure yourself if you're fatigued from cardio while doing weights. Secondly, weights
Ideally, you will use the weight lifting to burn off glycogen supplies so when you hit your cardio, you're burning fat directly and more efficiently.

Just because I've only been sleeved for a few weeks doesn't mean that I don't know what I'm talking about. You came here asking about a diet. I answered your questions. Your condescending tone doesn't do yourself any good.
    Good luck.

The Protein Powder in single servings is a great idea - I did that. Also, take the spice packets out of ramen noodles and take those with you. Works wonders putting a little in some hot Water Great flavor and really satisfying

Whew. Glad I didn't reply. I was going to say about the same thing Circa did. Let me make one distinction. I am NOT on a diet. I pretty much eat what I want. It helps that I want Protein. I have carbs in the form of high Protein bread and crackers. Last night for instance, I had some ribeye steak. It's my favorite, but now I skip the fatty part and eat 2 oz instead of 12 or 16. Today I'm having cottage cheese, lobster, shrimp, hummus, yogurt-gorgonzola dip, rye crackers, broccoli and strawberries. I've never had it so good.
    THIS is a DIET???
P.S. I also had a Protein shake (I make real tasty ones) and a "dollop" of cottage cheese and stayed under 600 calories. I LIKE cottage cheese and I think this IS how REAL healthy people eat. I don't have much room so everything going in is going to taste phenomenal or I don't eat it. As I get further out my portions will grow, but this is how I plan to eat forever.

This is a similar question I have for myself...the difference is that I would like to have baby #2. For my first pregnancy I was heavy throughout but didn't develop any complications during my pregnancy, however I felt I didn't enjoy my pregnant to the fullest. I want to wear the cute maternity outfits but they didn't fit, I wanted to show off my pregnant belly but the additional weight us the wight I started with wasn't attractive to me. Lastly, I didn't like having special accommodations because of my weight. Such as a bigger wheelchair, bigger bed, specialized gowns etc... With a pregnancy it is important to be healthy before and throughout your pregnancy...

The best thing I ever did was put a treadmill in front of my tv. I could still "veg out" but was getting something out of it. I think a therapist to find out WHY you have this issue is important. Knowing the why is most of the way to solving the problem!
