  1. Thanks Pdx! I was actually planning to head to costco in about an hour! I will definitely grab some - gotta have some stuff that's ready "on the go" :)

Thanks for the suggestion Dooter! I will look them up! :)

So appreciate the help here :)

  2. good for you! why we live and die by what a 3 dollar battery tells us is beyond me - but we do it! I'm guilty of it too! I already told my hubby, scale goes away for 1 month after I get home and if I start obsessing, he's to take it away again!

  3. relax and take a deep breath. Its not a race. Your body is still healing and adjusting. Take the scale and have someone put it somewhere you can't get to for about a month or so. We all do it. We all rely on a piece of machinery run on a 3 dollar battery to tell us if we're doing things right or not. In a month, get the scale, replace the battery and check yourself then. Every day weigh ins should be reserved for maintenance. When you get to your goal weight, weigh in every day or ever 3 days, just to maintain.

  4. First thing's first. You are NOT alone in this. So many of us can empathize with the situation. The sad fact is, you can't do anything to make them get in control. You have to prepare yourself for the worst, and be a shining example to them of the best that you can be.

I'm prepared for my mother to die at an early age - my siblings are not. I don't have kids and they do - they have that extra attachment of having to explain to their kids where their Grandma went. Its a hard situation. All you can do is take care of you and show them that life isn't over.

  5. I did. I did go out and have a good time. There were a couple awkward moments because they were talking about people at work that were of size and were not appropriate with their size. What I mean by that is, when you know that you're of size, you probably shouldn't try to sit in a little mini armchair and then be all shocked when you don't fit. And I'm not talking about a normal size chair - I'm talking about a kids chair that has arms that I wouldn't sit in if I weighed a quarter of what I do now. Then they apologized to me for making the comment - and I was like....uhm - why apologize to me? I'm not trying to squeeze my ass into a hello kitty chair. But other that it was pretty fun.

  6. I haven't had the sleeve yet. Its not necessarily a matter of low protein. Just tired from the stupid adrenal attack. I also moved to a high altitude from basically sea level and this was my first attack after moving so I'm sure that's playing into it. I have been making sure i take in more protein and I'm also taking an iron supplement now as I'm feeling anemic.

  7. Thanks :) I've never had a panic attack - but the adrenal attack of all the adrenaline coursing through the body at a high rate of speed is excruciating. You know how you're laying in bed almost asleep because you have that feeling of falling? I have that feeling for 12 straight hours. Its kindof funny when I have it and I don't have the pain that goes with it but when the pain starts, its all over. The only thing I've found that actually lessens the pain (doesn't completely stop it, but does make it tolerable) is morphine. I can't get morphine to take home, so its only if its REALLY bad and I go to the ER that I don't just ride it out. I can't afford all those trips to the ER with a 200.00 ER copay each time. I'm just glad there's a light at the end of the tunnel and its not an oncoming train :)

  8. wow - hope you are all cleared up very soon! I was starting to wonder because my husband broke out in his face after drinking a sobe life water that had mango in it - he's HORRIBLY allergic to poison ivy and the skin of a mango has an oil in it similar to the oil on poison ivy and it totally made him break out!

  9. I've got about 200 to lose myself - I thought about that whole "big girl" confidence and ya know what? I had a damn good sense of humor before I was this big, so I know that while I tend to deflect with the happy go-lucky on the outside, I'm quite certain I'll have the same ole funny me back when I'm comfortable in my own skin. Just make sure you check in with your heart, mind and soul along the way to make sure you're transforming them when you're transforming your body.
