mayonnaise, mustard, a little salsa and or relish. Add your choice of seasoning. I put chipotle seasoning on chicken salad and seafood seasoning on tuna. I also do the egg salad.

      SugarFreeMe

I've added water chestnuts to the chicken adn tuna salads. It gives a little crunch.

I know...Need something to spice it up a bit, but salsa doesn't work with my sleeve and eating too many carbs is not good also. I stopped eating tuna for a bit because I got bored and chicken can be too dry for me. Good Luck!

I barely ever drink protein stuff. Only if I have had a poor protein day then I drink a shake.

  9. anyone had fish 3 week post op if so how did you prepare it. I plan on baking it but do you think its flaky enough not to puree

      1Day1Life4Now

As long as the fish is flaky you don't have to puree it. The Talapia is very flaky and was a life saver for me. sometimes I put a little honey and brown sugar on it. (don't tell) to give it a change of pace but I usually just have it plain with lemon juice.

    3. joyann45

      joyann45

Thanks for all the advice. I usually use a salt , pepper, garlis, oregano, lemon and a little olive oil to keep it moist.

I was reading a foreign gastric sleeve eating recommendation and they said they recommend to their patients to take a sip of carbonated soda to loosen up the clog. Our parents used to have us drink ginger ale or 7up to do the trick too.

  16. I may have to just go cold turkey on the T I have tried many decaffeinated tea I even put two teabags in one cup to try and make it stronger but that didn't work either I just may have to invest in the Keurig and try a few different things I know the Keurig has a lot more flavors of tea and coffee to choose from thanks for the advice guys

  17. OMG having the hardest time kicking the caffeine. been drinking Tim Hortons coffee everyday for god knows how long then I switched over to 1 cup of brewed tea a day for the past 3 months now I have to go caffeine free beginning tomorrow should have started it two days ago but starting tomorrow. lol

Another idea as well.... Cause me & my coffee was best friends lol. But I have found after drinking that yucky caffeine free coffee in morning I found a decaf peach tea great value brand which is walmart u add to water and it's awesome. Seems to help as well, maybe a mind game not sure lol. Good Luck :)

There's a french vanilla decaf that isn't too bad if you have a keurig machine...that one works for me. Even though it's decaf, I can't live without coffee of some sort!!!

Hey there! My surgery is the 8th of April too. Am on my 6th day of preop diet which consists of protein meal replacements and jello. I have to say I am a little scared but excited at the same time. I am using the Bariatric Advantage (chocolate and vanilla) and really like it made with almond milk. Anyone able to make a good comparison between that and Unjury?

  19. on my way to my pre-op training class I guess today is the day I will find out how many days of liquid protein I have to do my surgery is April 8

Yes, I had mine repaired during sleeve surgery. If the surgeon hadn't told me he did it I would not have known - absolutely no problems.

      joyann45

Thanks for the responses. My Doctor says I will probably be out of work 6 weeks because of the hernia.

    4. SkinnyMinnyIwillBe

      SkinnyMinnyIwillBe

I had mine repaired during surgery as well three weeks ago. I went back to work after 2 weeks and really should have given myself more time. I am and esthetician and doing facials and body treatments and bending over and lifting limbs pulls. Had to reschedule a few body treatment last week and I went ahead and moved them this week as well. I didn't think it was going to be that long of a recovery time but it is in fact important NOT to lift and twist and turn.

  21. would like to know what peoples pain level 0-10 when you woke up or firt 24 hours

    1. QueensTy

      QueensTy

Honestly I asked myself what the hell was I thinking. The gas pain was bad. As soon as that was gone, the pain was a memory.

    2. BladeFox

      BladeFox

Drugged so not concerned with pain. I was around a 1-4 maybe. The worst part of it was the burps.

    3. Rena's got this

      Rena's got this

Probably around a 1. Those pain and nausea meds they gave me were wonderful!

I had a few twinges when I got up to walk, but that is about it. I was never over a 3 the entire hospital stay.
