  1. Hi I had leeve done on april 8 too. I too have lost 14 lbs since surgery and have hit a stall. Imthinking I would have lost little more but I became dehydrated week 2 went back into the hospital and iv gave me another 6 or 7 pounds. I didnt get the drainage tube and fluids pooled in my abdomen laying on my stomach making it painful to drink or eat. I haven't been cleared for exercise yet so I just walk. Im not in a real hurry though for the weight to drop I know eventually it will come. However, I was reading on here yesterday that if you increase you water and protein it will kickstart the weightloss, I tried it. Even though its 2 am, looks like I lo see t a pound. Good luck to you....

As long as the fish is flaky you don't have to puree it. The Talapia is very flaky and was a life saver for me. sometimes I put a little honey and brown sugar on it. (don't tell) to give it a change of pace but I usually just have it plain with lemon juice.

Thanks for all the advice. I usually use a salt , pepper, garlis, oregano, lemon and a little olive oil to keep it moist.

I was reading a foreign gastric sleeve eating recommendation and they said they recommend to their patients to take a sip of carbonated soda to loosen up the clog. Our parents used to have us drink ginger ale or 7up to do the trick too.

Not one of the lucky ones

I was having the same problem when I was about 8 or 9 days out. I went to the emergency room they did xrays and they said that there was blood that pooled in my stomach and it had gotten very large and was laying on my stomach and that's what was causing all the symptoms . I had the exact same symptoms but I was also dehydrated which is what made me feel worse so they hook me up to IV gave me pain meds I stayed overnight but they said the blood that pulled in my stomach would just go away on its own. I will begin to feel better so its been about 3 or 4 days since then and I do feel much better.if the ER is not doing anything for you I agree you should call your surgeon or your doctor's office
  10. Ok so I was the bad girl today. I did have chicken broth, sugar/fat free italian ice, decaf tea, and I sucked the juice from a small piece of ham!!!!!!! Just couldnt help myself...

  14. hey guys I was sleeved on the 8th of April . I am doing much better today I felt just great while I was in the hospital very low on pain, just a little discomfort in the stomach . I was up walking that night and did quite a bit of walking in the hospital it wasn't until after I came home that all the discomfort begin to start . -just restless trying to sleep trying to get comfortable, I'm having a hard time trying to get my fluids in . I get only like 50 ouces of fluid per day . I'm only hitting about 45 on the protein but I do a little more each day . I've been walking today I went to the mall , walked around for about a half hour sitting in between yesterday I went to Walmart and walk around but other than that I just get up maybe every 15-20 minutes and just walk from the front of the house to the back and come back and sit down but I am feeling much better today than I have been. It seems like its getting better and better I have my post op appointment on Monday so I'm hoping that they will move me up to the next stage. I'm not feeling any hunger. not hungry at all nor am I nor do I have the head hunger so that's a good thing but I have been getting on the scale and I'm only seen like maybe 1 pound gone per day I don't know if that's normal being that I really haven't done a lot of exercise but in time I'm sure it will come . right now I am eating the Unjury chicken protein broth the Swanson's chicken broth, sugar free popsicles , Crystal Light I'm taking my vitamins I take maybe half a dose of Tylenol with codeine dose before I go to bed and once maybe mid day before I go out walking but overall I'm feeling much better just ready to move on to stage 2
  15. I had surgery on tuesday. Sleeve & haitel hernia. Surgery went well. It was at 10.30 am but my blood pressure skyrocketed and I was in emergency recovery until 5 pm. I wasnt in any pain I just had to pee every hour or so. I was up walking by 10 pm and a few more times during the night. Next morning I went for x rays. No leakage. I felt really good when I was IN the hospital . They asked me if I wanted to go home or stay another night. I chose to go because i felt fine. As julia roberts said in 'pretty women' , BIG, HUGE MISTAKE!!!! All the way home I wished I was still in that hospital bed hooked up to the nice IVS and drugs just for the asking!!!! First night home was horrible. For the first time I asked myself what did you just do to yourself. I couldnt lay down. I had my husband pack me in a rocker with pillows and blankets (bless his heart). Lol. I woke up an hour later, uncomfortable, freezing, stomach sore. He propped me in the bed with all my pillows. Very restless night. Next morning I walked aroung every half hour. Pain level about a 2. Came home on liquid tylenol with codeine. No vomiting but dry heaves like crazy. I am having a problem getting the protein in. I do better each day. The whey powder vanilla flavor is good. Taste like vanilla shake. Today I went to walmart. Feeling much better. Planning on walking in the mall tomorrow. One day at a time. I took a nap earlier and had a dream that I was fixing a plate with chicken wings, mac n cheese, and string beans. OMG it was so real. Lol but overall, I feel the worst is over. I have my post op on monday morning and hopefully when I can move on to pureed I can get my proteins in better. So I am officially on the loosers bench!!!!!!!!!

    Tomorrow is the big day!

I have my surgery tomorrow also at 10 a.m. My doctor told me to have a full protein breakfast and after that I can only have liquids up until midnight and I have to drink at least 64 ounces of fluids today I also had to take a dose of miralax yesterday morning this morning and my last dose at 12 noon so I am on clear liquids for the rest of the day up until midnight and in the morning I can just take my blood pressure medication with a sip of water. I packed my bag to take with me a duster type robe, slippers, and I'm going to take a loose pair of pajama pants because I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get that robe on with the IV in my hand, don't want to be showing all my business while I'm walking down the hall, chapstick , my tablet , phone , chargers, ink pen and pad in case I have to take some notes and just a few toiletries. I'm thinking I will probably be up half the night too but if so, just as well, maybe I'll be so exhausted tomorrow that I'll sleep through the pain if there is any after surgery. Lol
  19. Tomorrows the big day. It's finally here! April sleevers-Good Luck!!!!

  23. Can anyone give me some ideas for mixing protein powders after surgery. The problem is I don't like milk or soy. Never have. I got about 6 of the berry flavored liquid protein shots. I got 3 single packages each of the unjury chicken soup, unflavored, and vanila. But the single shots can get costly. ? ? Eventially I want to get the big tub of protein powder but at a loss of what to mix it with.
