    Myfitnesspal - buddies?

    I am mommyluv9
  2. I too am nursing and plan on nursing after my surgery on 1/14, however my doctor says I can't nurse the day before surgery while doing my bowl prep and I can't for several days after because of dehydration mine and my daughters not because of the meds. Infect he says I have to increase my water intake for this reason. Did you out your son have any problems with dehydration. I call my daughter the booby monster and think she is going to have a much rougher time then me having to go without.
  3. I am 1/14/14. I am so excited! And scared...

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

I got my date! January 14th with my pre-op December 20th. Holy cow! My only concern is that I have gained weight since i last saw him. I pray the doctor doesn't reschedule me! I know it's a longshot, but are there any other nursing mommies? I am still nursing my 17 month old and am hoping to continue to do so after surgery.

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Hi all I was just approved and told that I will get a date in January. I am still hoping for a last minute cancellation so I can get my surgery this year for insurance purposes. But either way this is really happening! I can't believe it! I have been very open about having the surgery as I need my family support to help with my kids and I need my boss and Co-workers help to cover while I am out. I have only one non supporter but I understand where she is coming from and just don't ask her for help. I am still shocked that this is really happening! I was approved the day after my final visit with the nutritionist. I emailed my case worker to double check that I was really approved! Lol I look forward to getting to know you all!

My medical group must approve my surgery?!?!

I have Regal Medical Group. They all confirmed that Aetna *** and my plan works this way and Aetna will have nothing to do with my approval. However, my group uses the Aetna bulletin as a guide line but is not necessarily what their approval is based on. Ugh so confusing!
  7. I called Aetna and they told me that my medical group has to approve my surgery and that they won't even see my paperwork for approval! I then called my medical group and they told me the same thing. I then called my surgeons office and they said the same thing. But know one can tell me for sure what hoops I have to jump through! They all made it sound that as long as I do what my surgeon requires and he thinks I need the surgery I will be fine. Has any one ever dealt with this?

    BMI Requirements for Aetna

Well I have now been diagnosed with sleep apnea and PLMD. I just wonder if this will help our if I will have to have the diagnosis for 24 months before I can get approved. I got my weight records from 2011 to now and my BMI never went under 35 so in theory I meet all the Aetna requirements. I just pray it's enough...
  9. Since I was a teenager I have had a BMI between 35 and 39 with a few good weight loss runs that put me below and a few pregnancies that put me over. I have no co-morbities but my Mom died at 49 and my Dad died at 51 from obesity related issues. I am 36. This past year I have hovered between 40 and 41. Last year 2012, I was pregnant and my only weigh ins were while pregnant and my post partum visit weigh in I only gained 25 lbs (1) can I use any of those weigh ins to count? (2) my BMI was only 38 still morbidly obese but not above 40. In 2011 while I do have non-pregnancy weights my BMI was still only around 38. Has any one used pregnancy weights (first visit or post-partum visit) and has any one been approved not proving a BMI of 40 over the last 24 months? TIA
