Yes I have heard the same Missy, that they are great if you are prepping for a wedding or something but at 65 a month or whatever it is it's just not realistic in my oppinion. I'm just going to keep running and hold out for my Tummy Tuck in a year or two!

You are one of many people trying to make money off us by selling this stuff. It's getting really old.

Fact: All of these wraps work one of two ways: Diuretics or thermogentics. Sometimes a combination of both. The ingredients in the particular one you're selling contain diuretics as well as a plant used for hemorrhoids.

The "active ingredients" (they like to call them herbs) in these wraps:
Horse Chestnut Seed Extract- used to treat hemorrhoids
    Horsetail Leaf/Stem Extract- diuretic
Butchers Broom Root Extract- diuretic and laxative
Rosmarinus or Rosemary Leaf Oil- diuretic

You may have minor results but being as they're based on diuretics, they will be temporary. When you stop using these things the volume will return because the moisture returns. These wraps are nothing more than an over-priced temporary fix.

If you want to use them for the rest of your life, wonderful. That's your choice. But, others deserve to know the truth before spending their money on a gimmick.

I don't quite know where to begin with this one. Many of us have families and are juggling all the balls at once....kids, spouses, jobs, finances, etc. etc.
I will say that having made myself a priority has made a huge difference in the entire dynamic of my house. Because I am so much stronger in every way, everything around me is that much better too. Sometimes kids can't come first if you want them to be the best they can be, I truly believe that. It has nothing to do with loving them less than yourself, it has everything to do with taking care of the key player which is you.
    Good luck with everything.
Oh, and your daughter is an adult and needs to get moving on her life so that yours can be the best it needs to be.

i am 5 months banded now. i just got my 3rd fill. i have 5 cc in a 10 cc band. i am for the first time feeling satisfied between meals. i am also being real careful not to overeat. my doctor spends a lot of time going over Protein, carbs, fats, sugars, and calories i am allowed with each meal. this takes a lot of time, but i know i will be more successful than just eyeing and hoping i got it right. i don't think i am all the way into the green zone but between fills i am really reading, learning and educating myself about diet, exercise and the band. don't fret everyone is different. you will feel it. it is a nice feeling because i don't think about food all the time.

if anything is bad enough that it makes you cry you need to call your doctor. i am 5 months out and only recently when i am doing my walking do i feel the pinching at the port site. but it isn't so bad that i want to cry i just reach up and hold it with the palm of my hand.

I think you need to do some math.
How many calories are you eating daily?
How many calories are you burning?
You need to burn more than you consume. I wouldn't be worried about the volume of food you eat, I would be more worried about the amount of calories. Also, if you're exercising done eat back those calories. Run at a deficit.
It will be hard. You will probably be hungry. You just need to have healthy Snacks planned.

This is such a cyclic post..comes up frequently because emotions rise and fall frequently here.
I think it's important to remember 2 things:
    1) Just because we share a common interest (the band) does not mean we engage life and people the same. Some of us are realists and find it far more supportive to speak about truths and get honest feedback opposed to hand holding which won't get you to reflect on your behaviors/attitudes.
    2) You cannot ask a public forum for feedback and expect anything other than what you get. Take it, leave it..whatever. But this site is here for support and support can sometimes come be in the form of tough love. Rationale: because there are dire consequences to your band and your health if you do not change your behavior/attitude. Your issue is risky and people are going to emphasize it. There's no way to get around it, you need a wakeup call.
Gowalking, you are absolutely right. Misery likes company and people DO seek comfort when they know they've done wrong. But it is absolutely the wrong thing to do in certain situations to undermine the real risk they are putting themselves into right. I just wish people understand the difference. One post someone can have a hard time or feel defeated, which lends to us being empathetic and giving them some moral support. But than there's the other person who comes in and says they've done everything short of pulling our their band with their bare hands to compromise themselves and they will get zero empathy, it's not justified or warranted. What aggravates me the most is when people want to call you out as if you are the big bad wolf because you are pointed in one post, but fail to recognize how supportive/educative you really are overall.
Best thing to do, on both sides, stay emotionally distant (smirk) and don't take it personal

Spent the last couple of days reading through posts from here, fb, oh, tt, etc.. Why is it that some people on social media sites are so sensitive about other people's comments?
    Just some examples:
I thought this was a support site, why are you being so mean?
I don't like this group because someone was cursing.
I was just asking if it was ok to have a cocktail and eat a pizza at 2 weeks out, why is everyone being so negative?
I don't mean to be insensitive but this just drives me batty! It's not like we are one big happy family. And if we were, family can say a lot worse things then what I've read on these sites.
Ok that's it. Feel better now.

Just my opinion but I think guilt has a lot to do with it. When you make bad choices and do not follow the rules, it hurts to have someone call you out on it. Many people who abuse the band are looking for someone to tell them it's OK. When that is not what they get, I think that's when you see people reacting very negatively. Again...just my opinion based on what I see posted.

You know, those sleep tests show a lot more than people realize. It's kinda crazy! I had my first one back in 2007 and it came back saying "possible neurological issues". It went into great detail about how I was having movements that were neurological in nature and how follow up with a Neurologist was recommended. I poo-poo'd it. I thought they were nuts- there was nothing wrong with me neurologically. Less than a year later- I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Turns out I DID have neurological issues and the sleep study picked it up long before anyone else!

I love Missy's post and they are so encouraging for me to read and I am so proud of her and how far she has come. Every story is different but the goals are the same, lose weight, get healthy

If you are on the fence about having the surgery....just do it! I debated it myself and wish I had done it much sooner than I did. Life is going to keep on going regardless of what you do today.
I just found out someone my age (35ish) has been diagnosed with Cancer and it's breaking my heart. Life is short. Yes there is a risk of complications with any weight loss surgery, but you can also get hit by a bus in five years.
Sorry this topic is so cryptic I'm just in a really emotional state this week and am reminded of how fragile life is and how happy I am that I took the risk because when it's your time, it's your time.
Happy November my friends. There is much to be Thankful for.
