Sleep Test Results...

Okay I was previously asking about insurance approval... I have been trying to not really worry about something I have no control over. It seemed to me that the surgeon was stating if I had apnea it may improve my chances of getting approved? Well I had the sleep test done and was negative for sleep apnea. However, I was told that I have symptoms for narcolepsy (what!!). Crazy right? I have to go see a sleep specialists about it to find out what is going on. I am hoping there will be a positive out of this - that it will help me get approved easier! My scheduled surgery date is January 2nd. I have to do my psych/nutrition test and evaluation on the 21st of this month. My last nutrition appointment (6th one) is on the 26th. After that I just have to wait to hear back from the insurance company.

You know, those sleep tests show a lot more than people realize. It's kinda crazy! I had my first one back in 2007 and it came back saying "possible neurological issues". It went into great detail about how I was having movements that were neurological in nature and how follow up with a Neurologist was recommended. I poo-poo'd it. I thought they were nuts- there was nothing wrong with me neurologically. Less than a year later- I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Turns out I DID have neurological issues and the sleep study picked it up long before anyone else!

with my sleep study i also was diagnosed with nacrolepsy but i also had severe sleep apnea. even though my husband says i don't snore anymore i still wear my cpap, it gives me a better night sleep. as for the nacrolepsy they started me on allderal(sp) i took it for several months until i started having anxiety attacks. since the anxiety only started after this new medicine was started i contributed to the allderal. but if they do prescribe a med. it is the kind of med that can help you lose weight. good luck
