Ever since the age of 10 I began to be overweight. By 10th grade at 5' 10" I weighed 250. After High School I gained more weight by the age of 20 I weighed 310. I decided to take herbal supplements Ephedra based FenChi with a side of SF. I was able to drop down to 196 lbs. Afterward I met my husband. We married a year after we met in 1999. I maintained the weight without the supplements for that year. Right after we were married I became pregnant with our oldest daughter and I gained 90 lbs during the pregnancy due to lack of knowledge and adequate support and healthy food source. She was born in 2000. Right before I became pregnant with my youngest daughter in 2002 I lost a little weight and came down to 260 lbs again. I was still unhappy with my weight. I gained weight with that pregnancy however I was able to drop most of it due to the 9 lb 9 oz baby plus breastfeeding her. In 2008 I joined Curves and used Sparkpeople and I was able to drop my weight again this time down to 220. However the club closed and I stopped working out and began school for nursing. Since I have used phentermine and phendimetazine in order to drop weight along with my membership to YouFit however I have never been able to get to a normal BMI. I found out about lap band thru a current co-worker of mine. The procedure was covered by our work insurance 100% So here I am now in the process of waiting on my appointment to see the Surgeon, Dietician and Psychologist. I just attended the seminar on 8/27/13 and was impressed with Dr Ache whom I met in the lobby of the hotel where the seminar was held. I didn't know who she was when I met her but she was absolutely one of the most down to earth Doctors I had ever met. Considering I am an RN that speaks volumes. I can not wait to start this process and avoid my family medical history of 3 generations of Diabetes on my Dad's side along with his CAD, and HTN, As well as my Mom's HTN, Hyperlipidemia and Obesity.
