    Hello,
I can relate. I have had the same issue. I work out 5 times a week, ran 10 miles yesterday and spin three times a week for an hour. I am stuck on 205 lbs and seem more hungry. I'm going in for another fill this Tuesday 27 August. I want to get under 200 lbs. badly. I am friustrated. Have had my band for 4 years and kept off 40 lbs. I am 49 and want to weigh 185-190 lbs.

If you've had some esophagus "issues" this means you've been too tight before, remember the band is a tool, I know it can be tough losing weight with the band, but we can't rely heavily on the band to do all the work, without causing complications. It's a 50/50 deal.
First you have to make sure you are eating dense Proteins to promote satiety, sliders and junk will pass right through the band and if you are too tight, you will always be hungry because you will not eat enough to stay satiated for 4-5 hours between meals.
Remember you have to do your part too, having restriction is only a small part of weight loss and success. You have to have a plan and stick to it, have a daily exercise regimen that you can stick with, count your calories of everything you put in your mouth, drink plenty of Water, sometimes thirst can mimic hunger.
Also acid reflux can mimic hunger too, so if you have heartburn or reflux you may need to start a PPI like Prevacid.
If you get your band filled again, remember it's not all about restriction, you only want enough saline to dim your hunger and not stop you from eating, the band is not designed to do that, it's designed to help you stop eating and pull back from the table.
Also measure your food, think of a pixie cup, only eat no more than that per meal or 4oz.
You can do this! Good luck.

I was just wondering if anyone has tried the Unjury Protein Powder and if so, what is the best flavor? I haven't used that brand, I like Muscle Milk light because I can tolerate the taste, but was looking for an alternative.

It's good to see people here who have been banded for a long time and to get all the insights and feedback from all of you.
We are all helping each other learn and grow every day and I am grateful for that. This is one of the best groups I have ever been a part of, and it inspires me to post what I learn and what I experience to help not only myself but others.
I have not run across very many people who are out there trying to condemn each other and I hope to never have to meet them or read their self-righteous posts.
Everyone has struggles and that is how we learn and grow and we can pass that knowledge on by sharing it with others, and that becomes hard to do when we start to feel judged by our peers.
So thank you all for posting and sharing your journey, good bad and ugly. Gains and losses I’m taking it all in and under advisement as I navigate my own journey
I have been reading a pretty good book on emotional eating titled "Breaking Free from Emotional Eating" by Geneen Roth. I found the link either from a book or an article I was reading from a link someone here posted. Anyway the Kindle book version is not expensive and the book is a good read for anyone who has emotional issues with food and eating.
    Best wishes to you all!

I went yesterday morning to have my first fill and they put in 6 cc's in my 14 cc band. I am amazed at the amount of restriction I have from 6 cc's when I can remember having very little restriction at 7 cc's in the past. I think what I forgot to take into account was the fact that I have gained over 150 pounds and there is a lot of fat tissue around my stomach that was not there before. I think this may be the right fill for a while, until I start to lose the fat tissue and it loosens up a bit. I have the perfect amount of restriction. This morning I ate 1/2 c of Cereal and I felt full, could not have eaten more and so glad I have restriction again.

I tried unjury, got a sample pack. I use muscle milk light now. It is just not worth the extra money to me. I liked it ok, but I don't like it any better than the muscle milk light. I am sure you can use any Protein powder in Unjury recipe's, not sure why you couldn't. Maybe I'm just cheap. :-) I don't like being forced to order off the internet and paying shipping (although 90% of what I buy is off the internet, but it is usually Amazon prime, so no shipping).
Definetly get a sample pack though, worth the money to find out for yourself!

I discovered how to make Protein pina coladas (non-alcoholic) Mix one scoop of vanilla Protein powder, add 1/4 cup of pineapple juice and 1/4 to 1/2 cup of coconut milk*, add enough skim milk to make 8 oz total, add crushed ice and a dash of rum extract (baking aisle in grocery store). Blenderize or shake vigorously.
OPTION- use two tablespoons of crushed pineapple instead of the juice.
    * I buy "Naked" coconut milk which is low in calories, in the refrigerator section of supermarket with chilled sports drinks. Canned coconut milk can have a lot of sugar- always check labels on everything before you buy!

Thank you so much for posting your story. I was banded Jan 2012 lost about 50lbs and I gained about 33lbs back due to emotional eating and not paying attention to what I am putting into my body. I'm starting over as well, I didn't spend all of this money and go through all of the physical pain to fail. Good luck on your journey.

I enjoy the chocolate classic more then the splendor.. best thing to do before you buy the canisters is to try the single serve packs.. get the variety pack.. you can try them all. Unjury for me has been the best one ive tried to date. and once your in their system.. you usually get your powders the next day LOVE that!

I consider myself a "protein snob" because I could not tolerate most brands / flavors. I swear by the Unjury UNflavored. I like it because you can add it to about anything and it has a high Protein content. I purchased the Bariatric Advantage (eeww!) and you had to use TWICE as much to get the SAME amount of protein that UNjury has . . . just my two cents

I will not let myself run out of the vanilla and the chocolate splendor. I wouldn't get my Protein in without them. Unjury is the BEST. You will not regret this purchase. I put a scoop in my coffee every single morning.
