Congratulations on taking the steps to become a healthier you! Leah, this is your decision and I can see that you are struggling with it. I hope that you can decide what is best for you very soon. Have you discussed this with your dr? Keep reading all the posts on this forum, it has been very helpful for me. Good luck with your decision.

  12. Good luck, Melissa. I will be banded soon and I think I fear head hunger more than the surgery! I also think this forum will be very helpful in fighting it. The support from everyone here is just awesome! Hang in there, it will get better.

  15. Thanks, Leatha! I needed that info. I printed it out to hang on my fridge and then I also shrunk it down and printed and laminated it for a wallet size.
  16. I am not a Spivak patient, but my dr also had a seminar where I was told to: 1. Find out if your insurance policy covers WLS. 2. Document your history of weight loss efforts. 3. Document any co-morbidities you may have (see Inamed website) 4. See your PCP to get a referral (if necessary) and a letter recommending that you have WLS 5. See your surgeon, who will then get all the insurance paperwork started. And then... 6. Wait, wait and wait some more! Hope this is helpful. Good luck!
