  1. Wow, Alex! It's a good thing you kept that appointment. I hope the unfill puts everything back in place. Good Luck! Great info, Leatha!
  2. LOL!!! Lisa, I don't know what it means, but at least it doesn't sound too terrible, so this has got to be good news! Hey, it sounds like that incision is ALMOST HEALED!!! Woo Hoo!!!

WillPower!! This is wonderful news! I'm keepin my fingers crossed that everything else goes smooth and easy for you!
  4. (((Penni))), I'm so sorry! Nobody deserves a year filled with such losses, especially you. I'm hoping everything is smooth sailing for you from here on out. You're doing the right thing by trying to put your focus onto something else, like taking a walk. Keep your chin up, you will get through this.
  5. Thank you! I hope all goes well for you, too!
  6. LOL, Ryan!!! At least you get veggies! I didn't even get veggies!! No wonder I cheated a couple of times, LOL!!! Hang in there, you'll be banded before you know it. Good luck to you!!!
  7. Ny Lapster, I will be banded tomorrow and I too am on two weeks liquids pre-op - no veggies, though. I cheated a couple times too, but I am not going to sweat it. I mean, realistically, do you think a 'normal' sized person could do 2 weeks liquids and not cave in??? I don't, and I don't think any dr. should expect his patient to either. I have done the best that I can do and that is just gonna have to be good enough! Good luck to you!!!
  8. So, Avery....What happened? Are you OK?
  9. Hi, Vickie! Welcome to the board! Wow, I could swear we have another bandster here with Sarcoidosis, so I am sure she will have much to tell you. Hope all works out for you. It sucks that your insurance wants you to jump through all their hoops, but you have to play their game to get what you want. Just do the best you can and hang in there!
  10. Hi, Pam! Welcome!! Sounds like you're off to a great start, keep up the good work!

Welcome, Samy! You really picked the right place to do some research. This forum is so awesome! Good luck to you!!!
  12. Hey! I have a room that looks just like that! LOL!!!
  13. I'm in Denton!
  14. Yep, happened to me, too!
  15. That's wonderful, Lainie! I'm so glad you're feeling better. I'm looking forward to mushies too, and I'm not even banded yet, LOL!!!
  16. Wow! Thanks you guys! This makes me feel so good!!! I am getting just a wee bit nervous, but I think my DH is already about to fall apart. Hopefully, my sister will be there to hold his hand, LOL! I am soooo ready for this. I can't wait to be in bandland!!!
  17. Wow, I posted to this earlier today, and now my post is nowhere to be found. Anyway, WillPower, as someone else stated above, now is the time to get your ducks in a row. Just do the best you can on the diet and try not to get down. Document everything: weightloss history, request old medical records (especially if you had dr managed weightloss), medical history, family history of major issues such as heart disease... Get yourself prepared for a fight (hopefully you won't have one), find out what your insurance appeals process is. You can do this, I know you can! Be strong and stand up and show those SOB's what you're made of!
  18. WillPower, I know how much you want this so please don't give up. It sounds like you may have to fight your way through this, but it will be so worth it in the end. My BMI is 38, but I have high blood pressure and back trouble. Also, I have a lot of heart problems and such in my family history, which I documented for my insurance and also made sure it was mentioned in the letter of recommendation from my PCP. Have you ever been on a dr supervised weightloss plan? If so, be sure you get a copy of your records and document all your other weightloss efforts, as well. I know the 12 week diet is crazy, but if that is what they require, then do the best you can and just get through it. I am currently on a liquid pre-op diet, and I just keep thinking, If I could be successful with this diet, I wouldn't need a lapband, now would I? DUH! But that is what my dr required so I am struggling along. That doesn't mean I haven't cheated though, LOL!!! You can do this, I know you can! Be strong and stand up and show those SOB's what your made of! :devious
  19. LOL!!! Somebody get me some ponytail holders!
  20. Welcome, Roro! I'm glad you found us!
  21. Welcome, Sweetness!! It's great that you found this site because there is so much info to be gained. Good luck on your journey! I was told by a nurse that there are fewer nerves in the tummy so it doesn't hurt as much to get a needle poke there as it does else where. I think I'm gonna hold her to that, LOL!!!
  22. Well, Shoot! I'm afraid that date is just too close to my surgery for me to make this one. But if plans are made for later, let me know!
  23. Thanks, everyone! I can't believe it's almost here!!!
  24. Congratulations! I'm right behind you, too. Glad to hear you are doing well!
