FaithfulOne got a reaction from LynnR in Pain meds post-op
Yes the pain is 100 times better! Heating pad, walking and my pain meds definitely helped. I didn't need to take anything except Tylenol yesterday, for slight discomfort. I go in for my post op appointment today so I'm excited for that. Thanks for all the support everyone!!

I haven't not been back on here for a while, been working too much. I thank you all for your comments an so glad I am not the only stress/ emotional eater!
food addiction is harder that alcohol and or drugs (I have done both at some stage in my life, please don't judge) I feel as with both of those you need to give up and not touch again which all though is hard it is sustainable. food unfortunately you need to live so you cant just not touch it and never eat again. As soon I eat something "naughty" that's it I cant stop. However if I deprive myself I binge as well... Aaargh!

2 weeks post op and finally feeling better. Port area is still sore as expected. Went to the park today and walked 1.8 miles. This week I can have fish & ground beef but no chicken yet. I will be focusing on my Protein and veggies and fruit. Just ate almonds and they went down ok. Still get gassy from time to time but it passes very easily. So far the only thing I can't tolerate is any type of red drinks. No more fruit punch Crystal Light or red Powerade.< /p>

I was banded 10/30 and I am feeling ok so far. The port site still hurts and I am so looking forward to the mushy foods. I have never looked forward to a scrambled eggs so much in my life I am getting up around MUCH better then the first few days. Really bad pain at the base of my neck, driving me crazy ............. But, looking forward to the journey.

Finally found this group I was banded 10/24. I think it would be great to keep in touch with each other as we all move along in this process at relatively the same time. Hope everyone is doing well!!

until a person decides to lose weight (with wls or not), it wont happen
us overweight/obese people know what we look like and we need to lose and dont need to be told/reminded..that is my opinion.
inspire her to make her own decision by you doing what you are doing, losing weight and getting healthy..and who knows, maybe a spark may ignite

FaithfulOne reacted to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in How To help a Friend Understand
Honestly? You can't.
You already brought it up to her once and she was very clear she was against it for spiritual reasons. You have to respect her intuition and reasons- whether you like or agree with them or not. God isn't a cop out. If she's a strong Christian then God is the best reason she has. It's not anyone else's job or business to decide if reasons based on God are legit or not. That is between her and God- no one else.
If you push this topic with her, there's a good chance you could lose your friendship with her. If I were you, I'd respect her decision and let it go for the sake of your friendship.

I am three days post op from 10/25. I went to the park today to walk and get fresh air. I can wait to eat mushy food either! I think I can start them after post op appointment on 11/7.

Hi Faithful, love the cow! Glad you are coming out of a few rough days -- I hope today is stellar. I know what you mean about the scrambled egg and cottage cheese cravings. When do you go on mushies? Isn't it great to have such healthy cravings -- that relationship with the body back into place, able to listen to signals for the right foods, etc. Next Tuesday is my big day then those weeks of clear to full liquids to soft foods and mushies.......I am so excited about everything. Good luck to you! PS when can you exercise?

FaithfulOne got a reaction from Bandista in Day 4 post-op-starting to feel human again
Hi everyone! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
I had my surgery on 10/24. All went well. The surgery was about 2 hours long and during that time I also had a hernia repair. These first three days have been rough. My surgeon typically does not give out narcotics and sends home patients with liquid Tylenol but I definitely needed something stronger. He gave me Norco and I've been taking that every 6 hours to the minute and I am finally starting to feel better. Maybe he had to dig around more than usual during the operation...I have no idea but I could not even sit up by myself for the first 2 days On a positive note I am so thankful for everyone here who prayed for me. The surgery went off without a hitch. My appetite is revving back up and I cannot wait to start mushies. I have been craving eggs and cottage cheese since pre-op lol. I have also lost 13 pounds so far because of the pre-op diet so that is major motivation to stay strong. Anywho, just thought I would check-in. Have a fabulous day everyone. P.S.- Isn't my English bulldog the cutest? (He's my profile pic and in his costume for Halloween this year; a cow!)

Thanks! Bandista to answer your questions...I can go to mushies around 10 days post op so that would be Sunday. And it definitely is very nice to have more healthy cravings I began walking the day of surgery but cannot do high impact or weight exercises (or lift anything over 20lbs) until I get clearance from my surgeon. Typically he will at the 2 week post op visit so we shall see. Even when I was in pain I walked a lot to get all that darn gas out!

My husband ordered pizza on like day 5 post op. I thought I was going to pass out and/or drown in all my drool! I had told him it was ok...I figured I wasn't hungry, so I wouldn't care. That's when I truly realized my emotional attachment to food--I wanted it so badly I thought I was going to cry!
