    Bmi 35

Looking to connect or hear stories of people's success with lapband with a bmi of around 35. I cuurently have a 35 bmi and am just curious how long it typically took people to reach a goal of a normal bmi. Thanks!

  4. Hey everyone! I am 8 days post-op and still struggling with pain control. I was just curious how long everyone else needed narcotics for pain and when they switched to Tylenol? When I take the tylenol I am feeling hardly any pain relief. Maybe I have a low pain tolererance, I don't know....

    October bandsters

Banded on 10/24 and had my post op appt today. Surgeon said I am healing great and to keep it up I have been feeling ravenous as of Saturday so I now have my first fill scheduled for 11/18! Im very excited, but trying to be realistic in that it may take many fills to feel "restriction". Hope everyone else is doing well. Happy Monday!

    Pain meds post-op

Yes the pain is 100 times better! Heating pad, walking and my pain meds definitely helped. I didn't need to take anything except Tylenol yesterday, for slight discomfort. I go in for my post op appointment today so I'm excited for that. Thanks for all the support everyone!!

    Miss having friends

I can totally relate to this! Whenever I am thinner I find myself being more outgoing and in general more social. I'm working on accepting and being myself at every weight

    rue21 weight discrimination

So I was just watching the news and a 14 year old girl walked into a Rue21 clothing store in Oregon and a sales associate told her to leave because she's too big to shop there. Oh how my heart breaks for this girl I had a similar experience at Victoria Secret but they were not so direct. At the same time I'm sure it is not the company's policy and just some stupid people; unless its Abercrombie which I will never support. Anyways, there's my rant.

    Pain meds post-op

I don't have gas oain anymore. Its sharp, shooting pain at my port site that comes and goes. And when I stand or move the port hurts and feels like it's being ripped out. I feel likw this is normal pain from what I have read here...

    Pain meds post-op

Thanks for the responses. That makes me feel better. My surgeon typically does not give out narcotics for pain control but I requested it. Well my norco is out and I called the office for a refill to get me through a few more days and they said if I am still hurting that bad that I need to come in for an appt because something is wrong if I am still hurting this bad on day 8 (this was on voicemail). When I got the vmail it was after 5 so I think I will just call today and be seen if they think I need to. Im pretty sad because I am starting to feel weird about my surgeon's staff but I just got surgery oh well I will keep you guys updated!
  21. Hi everyone! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! I had my surgery on 10/24. All went well. The surgery was about 2 hours long and during that time I also had a hernia repair. These first three days have been rough. My surgeon typically does not give out narcotics and sends home patients with liquid Tylenol but I definitely needed something stronger. He gave me Norco and I've been taking that every 6 hours to the minute and I am finally starting to feel better. Maybe he had to dig around more than usual during the operation...I have no idea but I could not even sit up by myself for the first 2 days On a positive note I am so thankful for everyone here who prayed for me. The surgery went off without a hitch. My appetite is revving back up and I cannot wait to start mushies. I have been craving eggs and cottage cheese since pre-op lol. I have also lost 13 pounds so far because of the pre-op diet so that is major motivation to stay strong. Anywho, just thought I would check-in. Have a fabulous day everyone. P.S.- Isn't my English bulldog the cutest? (He's my profile pic and in his costume for Halloween this year; a cow!)
  22. Thanks! Bandista to answer your questions...I can go to mushies around 10 days post op so that would be Sunday. And it definitely is very nice to have more healthy cravings I began walking the day of surgery but cannot do high impact or weight exercises (or lift anything over 20lbs) until I get clearance from my surgeon. Typically he will at the 2 week post op visit so we shall see. Even when I was in pain I walked a lot to get all that darn gas out!
  23. Just got the call that my surgery will be October 24 if everything gets cleared. Woo hoo! Exciting but oh so nerve-wrecking!
  24. Hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday so far! I will be starting my 2 week Optifast shake/bar diet soon and need suggestions for what flavors to order. The choices I have are chocolate/vanilla powder or the ready to drink ones, chicken soup, and their chocolate or peanut butter protein bars. Has anyone had any of these? Likes/Dislikes? My surgeon's office only lets us only have these Optifast products for the 2 week pre-op diet. Let me know and thanks!
