  3. I make sure I have things easily ready.... I get in trouble if I don't have quick options.... I cook lean ground beef with taco mix and put it in measured amounts and then throw it in the freezer... when I'm ready, I throw it in the microwave, top with shredded cheese, shredded lettuce chopped tomatoes. Having things like that ready to go in minutes really helps me with variety when I am stuck feeling like I'm eating the same things, but don't really want to make the effort to cook all the time... Good luck!

  9. Yes, I agree... and chicken stock tasted better than broth to me....
  10. Banded July 18th... 7 weeks today. Have been to the doc 2xs declining a fill both times.... I have another appointment in a few weeks and I think I'm starting to think I will ask for it, but a VERY small one. Not having problems with appetite at all still (thank goodness) but I am definitely starting to forget how fast I'm eating... I'm full after just a little bit, but I know I shouldn't be able to eat that fast.... guess it's time to take my timer back out lol... anyone else had that problem??? Meaning appetite control, but eating too fast and not having consequences? I am still losing consistently (2lbs a week).... just curious...
  11. Oh man, I hope that stuff knocks out that ear stuff! I've had to deal with that stuff before and it's no fun. Glad your fill was just the right amount. Good luck!
  12. I loved the heating pad for the shoulder pain/gas pain but wanted to not be laying down.... went to Walgreens and got a portable heating pad (had Beans in it kinda:?/)... it's the one you put in the microwave to heat up... worked wonders and I was able to still be active... good luck
  13. Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that! BUT sounds like you're right on track now!! Doing awesome over here.. down 25lbs since surgery :-) I started out with a lower bmi so that equals going from a size 16 to a size 12 for me :-) went for my first fill last week and decided against it... I'm sure a time is coming when I'll be starving, but it's definitely not here lol... I struggle to get all my protein and calories in now.... have another appointment September 30 to see where I am, but I don't see a change in appetite right now...it's encouraging to hear that when your struggling, there's something we can do about it... one of the main reasons I had the surgery in the first place enjoy your weekend!!
  14. Banded July 18th and went in for my first fill yesterday.... I asked to please NO to getting a fill... I was worried because I thought I might leave and feel like I needed one right after lol... but the way I feel now is perfect. Weight loss is consistent, not hungry, not struggling with portion sizes.... Asked why and my doc said they started me with a lot more fluid than normal (I have a very small band) and I may not need a fill for months... kind of scary. I'm afraid I'll wake up one day and eat everything! Lol
  15. I too started with a lower bmi and we have similar stats.. I was banded on 7/18 and have lost a total of 21 lbs. (Including pre op diet)... so we have to remember, we only had to do the pre op diet for a week before surgery and she's right... our bottom line coming off is less so my doc told me it would be slower than someone who had a whole lot to lose. BUT I know you must be feeling a difference in your clothes :-) that's what I focus on, not the numbers :-) keep your head up!
  16. Wow that's great- I have been looking for an app like that... I'm going to try it! Thanks!
  17. That so good to hear... I was starting to think I was nuts. My first appointment is on Thursday and I have NO desire to get a fill yet. I am not hungry.... it's a struggle to eat, not physically, but emotionally.. I am swallowing fine, eating great food, but you are the first I heard say don't get a fill if you don't need one. I'll tell my doc and see how that goes :-) thanks!
  18. I was banded 7/18/13 and all I can say was that the gas pain was SO horrible (especially in the shoulder) that no amount of desire could encourage me to drink a soda because it's in the "may" cause gas category. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.
  19. Ugh... feel good and I am SO glad I'm finally done with the gas pains in the shoulder... BUT protein shakes or not, I am having huge issues getting in enough food/protein/calories.... it's making me crazy! Thrilled I'm full so quickly 2 1/2 weeks out, but don't want to get stuck in starvation mode either......help!
  20. I'm still pretty swollen and I'm 16 days out..... and fyi -I can easily feel my port and can see it if I lay down flat... my doc said I'm swollen more than most also...
  21. I agree... especially on the time... it was very hard for me to even take full deep breaths.... hang in there.
  22. Yeah... I'm 2 weeks tomorrow and I still have swelling and port site pain if I try to walk too briskly :-)
