Ada81 got a reaction from finally done in Sharp pains
I also got sharp pains like that but once the gas was expelled they went away. I also had sharp pain after some exercise that was similar about a month later, once again it turned out to be gas pain and once expelled it went. Takes a number of days

Well I'm pretty big starting out lol. I mean 393 at the beginning so I figured I would be losing like crazy but I'm kind of glad I'm losing slow because I'm scared of excess skin. I'm the type that wants instant gratification and this is something you have to have patience with and I'm trying to learn that :-)

Ada81 reacted to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in Surgery is this week and I have lots of questions
I encourage you to talk to your surgeon and learn the actual facts. Everything you stated here is totally untrue and it sounds like you've read too many internet stories and not enough factual data.
-Vomiting a lot: Totally untrue, in fact vomiting should be avoided at all costs with the band
-Severe digestion problems: Totally untrue because your digestive system isn't changed at all
-Unable to enjoy food: Totally untrue. You can still eat normally just less of it.
-Band eroding into stomach: Possible, but if you follow the band rules and your doctor's orders the risk is very small, like 5%
-Psychological issues: Possible, and if so you need a support group or counselor.

Wow tricky being your mother-in-law. Laxative in her tea perhaps kidding! I Would be telling my partner to have a quiet word with her about how building your confidence will help you succeed.
With my own mum, we ended up having a screaming match a few years back where i told her that her comments that I would look better like this or that didn't actually do anything but make me retreat into myself more. If she bothered to make nice comments and build my self confidence I might actually start believing I'm attractive. Fortunately you can yell at your mum and she still loves you the next day - not so easy with the MIL

insensitive? yes. since you have the relationship that you do with him, i suspect he may be trying to improve his own diet/ health, what he said may have been more about his behavior, past or present regarding mcdonalds, than an insult drected at you. hugs.

Today I went into American Eagle to buy some jeans for my son. While in the store I saw a shirt that I thought was cute so I picked up the XL to try it on....It was too big. I fit into a LARGE!!! I don't remember the last time I fit into a large. When I started my journey I was in a 2x top (and it was tight). YEAH!

I am on day 7. I was so craving a hamburger yesterday that I sat in the parking lot of McDonald's for 20 minutes. Then I drove away drinking a Protein Shake. If I never see a shake after post op stage I couldn't be happier.

I used to eat 1 slice of wheat toast and 1/2 cup of egg for Breakfast. Since my last fill I was too tight so now I either do a shake or just the egg. I agree with Missy though about the deprivation. If you deprive yourself then you are just dieting.

Ada81 reacted to SolracSpree in 1400 Calorie a day
    Hey everyone.
I wanted to know what is everyone's daily caloric intake. 4 weeks ago my PA put me on a 1,000 calorie diet. And lets say I didnt do great on it towards the end once my appetite came back. Then when I saw my surgeon two weeks later he put me on a 1400-1500 calorie diet because he said my metabolism rate is higher and I needed to consume more calories and "kick" my body out of starvation mode. So on here I've seen people who eat around 900 cal - 1200 cal. And some who don't count calories at all. Now I don't know how I will consume this much once I've gotten a fill but I guess my body will adjust. I just wanted to see if anyone is eating this many calories AFTER being banded.
(Having your metabolism rate check is awesome btw, if you haven't had it done its pretty cool. I found out my body burns 2,174 calories resting, which as explained to me means my body would burn 2,174 calories if I never got of out bed. The you add calories for daily activity level and exercise. My metabolism is very high they said, which is a surprise to me! I always thought my metabolism was awful.)

    Hi All,
I just wanted to share a recipe with you all as someone mentioned PIZZA! Ha, I love pizza but cant eat wheat so I found this awesome alternative that I think will be band friendly down the track and has certainly been a saviour. My preop diet isnt super strict and so I made this saturday night with just half the cheese. My partner also loves it as he doesnt feel bloated afterwards. I have made up a whole lot of little pizza crusts and frozen them - you can use it as bread!
You Won’t Believe it’s Cauliflower Pizza Crust
    1 cup cooked, riced cauliflower*
    1 egg
    1 cup mozzarella cheese
    1/2 tsp fennel
    1 tsp oregano
    2 tsp parsley
    **pizza or alfredo sauce
toppings (make sure meats are cooked)
    mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 450 degrees Farenheit.
Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray.
In a medium bowl, combine cauliflower, egg and mozzarella. Press evenly on the pan. Sprinkle evenly with fennel, oregano and parsley.
Bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes (15-20 minutes if you double the recipe).
Remove the pan from the oven. To the crust, add sauce, then toppings and cheese.
Place under a broiler (grill for the Europeans) at high heat just until cheese is melted **.
