Hi, everyone. I haven't posted for a while, and I'm happy to say that's because I'm out there living like I couldn't do 55 lbs ago! Getting sleeved was the best decision I could have made for myself, and I'm so grateful to the outcome.

I owe so much to the people on this site who took the time to answer questions and share their experiences. I will try to do the same and spend some time each day here.

I'm 6 months out, I lost some of my hairline? I thought i was imagining it until i just noticed some growth there. So I'm hoping no more loss. I've been taking Biotin religiously since month 2.

Not sure. I wear it longish and straight and I didn't really even realize it happened until it started coming back in and the short pieces were sticking up with winter static. Seems like I had more hair in my hands after a shower from about months 4-6. Pony tail got a little thinner, but even my stylist didn't notice till the re-growth started. All in all, not that bad. the "stick ups" lay right down with a dampened hand. It grows really fast since I started taking Biotin.< /p>

I started losing a LOT around 3.5 months out. I am now almost 6 months out and it has slowed considerably and I have a LOT of new growth. The new growth is a little ragged looking (looks like broken pieces and fly aways), but I'm happy it's coming back. I suspect than in a few months, if I cut my hair short one last time to get it all the same length, it will be impossible to tell I ever lost any, even for me.

So far, I only heard one person chime in about it growing back, and that was after two years! I'm in the same place as Elode and I'd love to hear from more people about when the loss stopped and actually reversed back to normal.
    Anybody?

As I am still waiting for Alex to create a 'dating' area on this site, I decided to post this in the general WLS forum. As many of you know, I share alot because I truly feel that if I'm going through something, so are others and I wanted to post both the good, bad, and everything in between. So...this is a good thing. I'm seeing a new man and we've had a few dates. He's not very talkative but when he is, he's funny and sardonic and what you see is what you get with this guy. I know I'm attracted to him...and he is to me. But I'm not ready to be intimate with him just yet (if ever).
I let him up to my apartment last night after dinner and sure enough, he started in right away. He never made me feel nervous...I just know that he was hoping I'd give in. I didn't. But....I was super aware that I had not yet told him about the WLS and I knew he didn't know about the loose skin, the port that sticks out, and all my issues surrounding body image. Well...turns out that a horny guy doesn't care about 'shrinkles', ports that stick out, or all the other imperfections we ladies (and men) fixate on.
Doesn't mean I still won't think about plastic surgery, but at least I learned that if I do it, it will be for me and not for a partner. He didn't care that my breasts were little loose hanging pockets of flesh. He just wanted at them. And at first I tried to keep his hand away from the port area so as not to have to explain it at such a 'critical' time but I soon realized he was running his hand over it as he was touching me all over my mid section...and either didn't feel it, or didn't care.
This was a good lesson for me to learn. I'm going to really try not to fixate so much on my flaws. I know I look good in clothes so what I have to work on is knowing I'm not disgusting out of them...and not feel the need to explain or apologize for what my body looks like.
Will discuss this with the therapist on Tuesday but glad I can also post here and let you all know what's on my mind.

My hair has finally started to shed. Nothing too horrible...yet. Just really annoying! I had a cute hair style picked out but opted to order extensions instead. I'm not upset by it, I knew it was going to happen so I'm not shocked. I've decided to look at it as my internal "fat" girl and "skinny" girl are fighting. One of them is fighting dirty and pulling hair out!! I'm betting on the skinny girl to win the fight in the end! Ha! So if you lost hair how long did it last?

I told my boss I was "having surgery" and left it at that. I didn't say what kind of surgery and they legally have no right to ask, unless they are handling your FMLA paperwork. As to whether or not you can just use sick days, that would be dependent on your company policies. I didn't have enough sick days saved up, but luckily, my employer has a "catastrophic leave bank" that all employees "pay" one sick day into each year and then if an employee needs extended medical leave, they can draw from that bank so long as they qualify via FMLA paperwork.
If you have an employee handbook, I would start there to figure out what you need to do. If your employer has an HR department, that would probably be your next stop.

i didn't tell, and i'm getting sleeved tomorrow. i told them i needed surgery, and took one week off and then will be working from home for 3 weeks afterward. i may tell people afterwards, i'm not sure, but i didn't want to hear anything at all that would bring up any negative emotions (anger, fear, doubt, etc) plus i just wasn't in the mood to explain over and over again.
afterwards, i have a feeling i may become an advocate and broadcast it to the world... but for now, nope.

I'm telling nobody from work, even those who are close friends.
I told my family members who I know love me unconditionally and will support me.
I told my four best friends, none of who know each other or any of my other friends because they're all from past lives and so there's no chance of any leaks there.
I told my guy because he lives with me and will be taking care of me.
I may add to this later, but right now, this is it. (I'm scheduled for 11/4)

you are doing great! just keep on doing what you are doing. if you're "stuck", you can try to mix things up a bit... try a different workout, eat a little more one day and a little less the other, drink more Water... but there's nothing wrong with the rate you are losing at.
