Get a life snob!

So I was told after I was released from the hospital that I had to stay on Clear Liquids for one more day and then advance to all liquids then after ny one week followup I could advance to pureede foods... and I didnt follow that I was starveing and got some real food after I was released yes I chewed up really well and was drinking with it to make sure it went down and I havent had any problems so why do they want us to wait and how long did you wait? If you didnt did you have any complications?

So I had my surgury on friday august 16th and I was so loopy from the morphine and stuff that I dont remeber how long they said I had to wait to take a shower and peel off my dressings anyone have any ideas

So my insurance has approved the surgery and I got the call yesterday aug 8th and my appointment is for next friday the 16th of august and I have to start my all liquid diet today... im gladd it got approved and schedule so quickly I was able to stop smokeing which even though I still think man I could use a cig every now and again... I have benifited greatly from quitting already also I have cut out soda I had my last goodbye with a 20 oz mt dew livewire last night and wont have any anymore... like im gonna cry over that though it had gotten to the point where soda didnt taste good after a bit I wanted something that tasted different but still soda... but then once I stop drinking so much now it just plain dosent taste as good as u used to think and my stomach and teeth have thanked me greatly already so now the only thing that has kinda upset me is this weekend is my uncles welcome home/birthday party/bbq and im not going because it will be day two without solid foods and... I don't want to tempt myself but all will be forgiven and forgotten im so excited to get this done and over with and get started on my new life which to me will be the begining of my life

I called and got ahold of the nurse that is over the others that will help me after surgury and I was allowed a 12 ounce pepsi and a small serving of instant mashed potatoes which brough me up to inbetween the 1000 and 1300 calorie mark and gave me the energy and helped with the headache they figured even with haveing been off caffeine for over a week that in the detoxin phase or low intake whatever I might be experianceing a caffeine headache that I otherwise wouldnt have noticed so thats why I was allowed the soda which I consumed very slowly along with the instant potatoes I feel much better still have diarrhea not as often now but still its there I just have two days left and they are all liquid so... im gladd I will have family around to help me because if today was any indication of what is to come im gonna be a basketcase by friday.... they did however mention that they were gladd I called in and was feeling so bad because that tells them I truely am following my preop diet where as they have several come in have the surgury and are in so much pain afterwards and say they didnt do it... but the ones who do follow it usualy call in and are allowed a small meal and are in far less pain after surgury and recover nuch faster... thank you all for your concern and support I look forward to continuing my journy with all of you!
