  1. I'm one week post op, and honestly slightly worried... I see all these people saying "I could only eat half a yogurt etc" and honestly I feel like if I didn't make myself stop halfway I could probably eat the entire thing. I'm just not getting the full feeling whatsoever. My nut said I could start on cottage cheese, yogurts, and my "pre-selects" yesterday and I thought I'd get the "full feeling" but I haven't at all. Wednesday I'm attending a class and figured I'd ask then but it'd be nice to also get some input from you guys. Thanks.

    3 weeks

. I am one week post op and know exactly how you feel! I'm scared I'm eating too little or even too much. I haven't felt full at all yet..
  3. I really need some ideas. I've mostly been eating low fat cottage cheese with a slice of deli turkey chopped in. Otherwise it's still soups and cream of wheat. I need variety! Any suggestions are appreciated!

    Is Frozen Yogurt Ok?

I live in Colorado and bought the blue bell no sugar added vanilla ice cream. Only 6g sugar for 1/2 cup. Hope that helps!

    1 week post op

I am one week post op and in the full liquids phase. If I have one more protein shake or broth I might murder someone. I can't stomach the after taste anymore. Wednesday is my clear to start "soft" foods. I've already lost 20 pounds which is great but I just need something real!! Would I be a bad person if I had some Greek yogurt or applesauce? Hah.
  6. You will do awesome!! From what I've been told they'll give you a little something to take the edge off and calm your nerves . Keep us updated!

    Food for weeks 1-6

I'm a person who need variety and I have a feeling that if I do want to eat after surgery ill get bored eating the same things. Could you offer some advice on what your favorite things to eat were? So far I've bought: sugar free jello/pudding , several flavors of protein including unflavored, applesauce pouches, and mashed potatoes. I'm trying to think of some soft foods/liquids that will be healthy! As of now I don't really want to live on jello and pudding! Lol. Any input would help! And my surgery is September 16th!
  8. I totally am! Haha. My doctor is cute and I don't want to have my doctors place a catheter in a jungle. Plus I bought nair for during my recovery so I won't have to bend over so much.

    Surgery date set: september 16th!

I've got into the habit of taking my Vitamins every day, and bought different Protein drinks to try out what flavors I would like. Fortunately I only have to do a liquid diet the day before surgery!! I also have bought all the supplies needed to clean and change my drains etc. just trying to plan ahead so my husband doesn't have to run out quickly. I also started buying some non perishable items for my diet post op such as: Jello, broths/soups, protein, applesauce pouches etc so that my shopping bill won't be so high right around surgery time. I'm a planner so I try to get everything ready ahead of time haha.

    Surgery date set: september 16th!

Only two more weeks! Things are really starting to wind down and my nerves are picking up. I haven't had a surgery of any kind before so I'm especially nervous about complications etc. I've been taking my vitamins for the past month just to get into habit, and bought some different proteins to try before surgery just to see what I like. I bought one from vitamin shoppe called "syntrax nectar" in the fuzzy navel flavor. It really tastes like a smoothie with a hint of whey. It's really good! Keep me updated on your progress and the journey!
  11. My surgery date is September 16th too! Only two more weeks you guys!! It's so exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. I've never had a surgery of any kind before so I'm really nervous! I'm also extremely nervous about having gall bladder issues and then needing a second surgery later on! I've been shopping for the things I need little by little because who knew it would be so expensive?! Today I'm making another run to the store to buy some soups etc. congrats to all of us on this life changing journey!
  12. My surgery date has officially been set for September 16th! I live in denver and my surgeon is Dr. Michael Synder. Any other September surgeries out there, and how are you preparing yourselves? I'm trying to control my eating, and lose some weight before hand but failing miserably.
