    Beet Juice & possible TMI

Thanks all! kathy - I’ve lost 75 pounds. I’ve been slipping lately though and I’ve gained 10 pounds over the last several months. Though I’m sure some is water weight I know I have been eating foods I shouldn’t be eating. Slowly gaining back control. Just got a juicer and I do smoothies as well because I’m finding it easier to get in more fruits and veg this way!! I add some protein in those also. Now I just have to keep working on my night time snacking.
  2. Hello! It’s been a long time since I have posted. I had the sleeve a couple years ago. I had juice this morning that I made - it had oranges, carrots, strawberries, apples and half of a beet. The juice was dark red. I drank about 8 ounces over the course of 30-45 minutes? Or so. Not long after that I had to go to the bathroom. It was red. I’m talking barely an hour later maybe. Urine has not been pink or red. I’m not sure if that would happen so quick? But I realize our digestion is probably a little different.
  3. I was in one night and I had lap band out, gallbladder out and sleeve. My surgery was around 2pm and I was out the next evening around 8:30. That was my choice because I really felt like I was ready but they said I could stay if I felt I needed to. My pain was pretty bad the first day and half and I had a lot of nausea the next morning but by the mid to late afternoon I started to feel a lot better. I had scar tissue as well but I guess not as much as some. I was on the table for 3 hours. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Revision help!

I've never in my like had problems with acid reflux - even before the band. I'm 2 months out from band to sleeve revision. With the band I had for 6 years. The only time I had reflux with the band was when it was too tight, which seemed to be anytime there was anything in there to give me restriction. Once the bad land was unfilled the reflux went away. I've been having mild reflux after the sleeve. I take protronix which is working just fine to keep the reflux under control. I was told it would probably even go away and actually I'm wondering if it is because I used to wake up feeling it and took my medicine right away. Now when I wake up it doesn't seem to be there, but I'm still taking the medication. I may just stop taking it and see what happens. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Daily calories and exercise

Thanks for the replies. It's just been a weird week I guess lol! I'm doing a lot better today in regards to not feeling like I'm starved. I made it. It's been a learning experience going from the band to the sleeve for sure. I've not hear of the whey shots I might look into that. I really don't know know if I can drink another shake. Unless I switch back the Syntrax nectar. I still have the twisted cherry and grape. Those are more like Fruit drinks than shakes but still give me 20g of Protein for 100 cals. Just none of the Vitamins and minerals of a Meal Replacement. I feel great about the surgery too and am so glad I did it. I've done better with the sleeve in the first 2 months than I did with the band in 6 years. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Hello! I'm about 2.5 months out from band to sleeve revision. I'm down 13 pounds since surgery. I'm very pleased!! I'm exercising daily - mainly walking/hiking outside with my dog or on the elliptical at the gym. I'm starting a "personal fitness quest" at the gym tomorrow (once a week butt kicking by a PT basically lol). Most days I have to remind myself to eat. I just went from liquids to puréed a couple weeks ago. I still drink at least one Protein shake per day most days - some days I just can't choke one down. This week I feel like I'm starving all day long. I just started my cycle. Wondering if that has something to do with my feeling so hungry. Nothing else is new or different really. Is my exercising catching up to me? I generally get up to 800 calories when I'm using my skim milk and fruit in my shakes and sometimes close to 900. Since I started puréed foods I've made puréed tuna (with spicy mustard) and chicken (buffalo chicken) and eat maybe half a cup of food in a meal. I like cream of whet but not really much protein there...if I have it I have it with the fairlife skim milk which has 13g of protein per cup. But sometimes diary makes me feel nauseous. So any advice? I think I'm eating the right amount of food. I'm eating my protein first. I'm constantly sipping Water. I just find it so strange to be feeling this hungry! Surgery Wednesday

Well I hope your surgery went well! Or goes well if you haven't had it yet today! I drink coffee. I never stopped drinking it Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I do take a chewable Multivitamin. They are Bariatric fusion orange cream flavor. They don't taste bad but they are enormous!! It is a struggle to get it down some mornings. I think I'll just get flint stones chewables when I need more. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I had my band to sleeve 2/26. I can't believe it's been a month already. I've lost about 10lbs since surgery. But I lost 18 doing the liquid diet 2 weeks before the surgery. I do have issues with reflux but I take my protronix in the morning and it's fine. Not severe. I get nausea as well a bit at times. Not often but just now and then and usually of I eat a bit too much or too fast. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Puree Stage - Recipe/ideas

Well I've been experimenting a little. Being from Cincinnati I LOVE Skyline chili I did get some frozen, thinned it out with chicken broth and blended it (after thawed of course). I found it to be too greasy - it made me feel nauseous. So I made my own Cincinnati style chili with ground turkey. Puréed it up and yum! I like it on a baked potato or baked sweet potato even. All smooshed up and blended it feels like a very substantial meal Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How long did it take for you to heal?

I was back to work in a week after my band to sleeve revision and also had gallbladder out. Not a whole lot of pain for me either after the first few days. I work in the office 3 days a week and I work at home 2 days. Also desk job. I could've taken more time but didn't really feel Like I needed it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
