My surgeon is VERY thin, however, her husband and partner is a bariatric patient. The NP that does my fills is also banded, and I think one of the front desk girls.

Pain in and around the port area is VERY common weeks after surgery; however, you should listen to your body and NEVER be afraid to call your doctor's office with any concerns. They got paid a nice amount of money, make it count!!!

I'm ready to restrict carbs, as I sleep so much better when I do and also I want to lose a little faster and not rely so much on the cc in my band. Today, just for the heck of it I used a ketostix I had from my last Atkins fail (my fault, not the diet) and I was FLOORED when the stick showed moderate KETOSIS!!!! I wasn't expecting that, since just yesterday I had a 1/3 of a chicken roll for an early dinner. I guess because of the caloric restriction in general, the body uses fat as a primary source of fuel. Soooooo, I'm actually/not-really already on "day 4" of Atkins, according to the stick. WONDERFUL!!

I went semi-topless in the sense that I had NO top on but I had a crochet dress which was kinda see through.

I have no doubt you're a wonderful person and you would make a great friend, after all, you're being BRUTALLY honest with STRANGERS.
For many years, after moving to a new neighborhood, and the pounds started to pile up, I was just as you described above. It took me almost five years to start coming out of the depression and my self-imposed "quarantine". It DID start when I lost 40lbs on my own (then gained it back within 3 years) and then I got Lapland.
I'm happy you have a supportive husband. Maybe you can start by finding a couple to do things with and work yourself from there.
Remember this, though... We are all imperfect and sometimes friends let us down OR we let THEM down. It's just part of life. But on the other hand, friends can become family. Good luck to you...! And let's break that shell!!
