Does your center have support groups?
Yeah it wasn't what I was expecting.

Does your center have support groups?
Mine has a virutal support group that meets once a month. I had to attend one recently, that's my centers pre op requirement. There was probably 60 people in attendance, and one person from the center "moderated" it and there was one of my centers patients who had a successful sleeve surgery that told her story. There was a few minutes at the end of the meeting that they allowed questions. There were a lot of questions asked, but only a few got answered, due to the time limit of one hour. So it was pretty much pointless. Everything that was said, I've already learned about on BP.

Pre-op diet, hungry, not losing weight
I'm going to go out on a limb here, and maybe a lot of people might not agree with this, but I wonder if during the pre op diet if bariatric surgeons would prescribe GLP-1 agonists to help survive the pre op period, it would help with compliance. I mean the goal is to eat less and healthier and to shrink the liver. It's a tool that could help get a person through the pre op period successfully. It's a tool just like our surgeries are a tool we use to get to a healthy weight.?♀️

Pre-op diet, hungry, not losing weight
The sidebar is where your surgery stats are located. It tells which surgery you had, surgery date, height, weight and BMI. It's difficult for advice to be given if we have little to no information about you. Here's a thread for reference: https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/440117-sidebars-can-bp-help-nudge-users-to-fill-in-their-info/?tab=comments#comment-4958281

Sidebars - can BP help nudge users to fill in their info?
If you're using a browser on your phone or tablet, you have to enable the desktop version instead of the mobile version. Then go to the top of your profile and click your username and there'll be a drop down and you select, "My Surgery" and you can update your surgery and wls stats.

new here and have a few questions
When I had my Lap Band, foods would get stuck. That's how I knew I couldn't tolerate a food. I'm pre op for RNY so I can't really answer from an RNY standpoint yet. I was told a meal should last 3 to 4 hours. That was solid foods. It's going to be harder when you're on liquids because they offer very little satiety. As for why you're hungry now, I'll let those with RNY surgery answer that, I have zero personal experience yet. But I do know when I had my Lap Band I never felt satiety until I could eat solid protein, like chicken. But RNY could be different. Soon the RNY veterans should be chiming in on these topics. I wish you the best on your journey.

How many tacos one year out?
Thanks guys, now I want carnitas nachos. ??

new here and have a few questions
It would be helpful to all of us reading your questions to know your stats. You can fill that out on your profile. It consists of which surgery you had, your beginning weight and your height. It helps those who would like to answer your questions answer them properly, because sometimes the answers can vary depending on which surgery you had. Thx.

Dreaded hair loss - question
I'm pretty sure it's all about protein intake, and I hope to have the same ease after surgery as you.

heart attack?
My former mother in law was having these silent heart attacks without knowing it. So be thankful for the extensive pre op testing that you're receiving. I hope it turns out to be a false alarm and you can proceed with your sleeve surgery on schedule.

Dreaded hair loss - question
I'm dreading this part too! I adore my long, curly hair. And I'm trying to decide if I should just go ahead and cut it now so maybe it won't look so bad when it does thin out. I didn't have hair loss with the Lap Band.

Nuclear Stress Test
Is that how you satisfy your craving for American sized diet lemonade? ?
-
Nuclear Stress Test
Their lemonade is really good. It's made from freshly squeezed lemons. Their Sun Joy is good too. Half lemonade, half tea.
-
Nuclear Stress Test
Omg they are sooo good! I dip them in buffalo sauce and then a tiny bit or ranch. Lower calories that way. But the Chick Fil A sauce is really good too.

Grilled nuggets and American sized diet lemonade? You're gonna make @MiniGastricBypassDude drool from the other side of the world. ?

Nuclear Stress Test
I blame Chick Fil A. Not the grilled nuggets and American sized diet lemonade. ?
