Banding Tomorrow
Mine is Tuesday but I was told by others make sure to wear a sports bra and a shirt your not attached to as your incisions may bleed on them. One of the ladies in my pre op class ruined her baby blue shirt. Shop before hand for the first 1-2 weeks you will not want to go out to the store. sugar free Popsicles have been several people's saving grace apparently. Good luck!! Your in my prayers.

looking for someone to talk to for support
I'm 24 and getting banded on the 7th. The edg is nothing at all I was scared too but it's really nothing to be scared off I promise. And lucky for me I Did have the hernia (which surprised me since I've never had heartburn in my life) but that makes this a more affordable choice. I started looking into banding in 09 and got sated away from it a million times between horror stories and absolutely no support and lots of name calling because I wanted it. Do you have a date yet? Remind me at the end of this week beginning of next and ill let you know how my surgery Tuesday goes.

Any smokers prior to surgery?
The standard kit or the Mother's Day kit (same thing ones just less expensive and looks like its pink) would be what your wanting. 12 & 6 mg is what I ordered and my second order was all 6mg and 0s (number is the amount of nicotine) I ended up calling and placing my order over the phone to get the additional help because computers tend to hate me

Any smokers prior to surgery?
You need a starter kit for sure I would start out with the basic (not economy one) ill go check and see which option it is. It's been so long I don't even remember. Like I said I got the couples kit because it literally had everything we would need.

Any smokers prior to surgery?
http://www.v2cigs.com/ is the link for the ones I used. My best suggestion is force yourself to no tobacco just the Ecig for a few days-I was told 7 days by the rep.

exercise?
I have seen in quite a few places that that app recommends higher calories than a lap band person needs to do. Keep in mind with all apps it's recommending on a normal person without a tool to help them lose weight. When I was eating 1800 calories a day I was actually just maintaining my weight I had to cut much more to lose weight I'm on preop and taking in under 1000 a day (sometimes a bit over)

Any smokers prior to surgery?
I used v2 cigs and within 6 months I wasn't smoking at all. They have awesome starter kits (I bought the couples kit 12 mg ended up more than enough and I was smoking Marlboro red 100s)I still have it and plenty of the products for it but August will be two years since I quit everything.

Researching
The sleeve is not technically permanent your stomach can stretch over the years I know several people who were banded over a sleeve... I originally was set on sleeve but over the last year have switched and decided to give the band a go. Like the person before me one main reason is reversible I also did consultation at several places an even more doctors over the last few years until I finally found one I'm comfortable with even if it is a drive for me. Good luck!

May banders!
My surgery is set for may 7th So far on my pre op I have felt like a failure because I keep messing up- once I ate a few bites of Pasta before realizing and I feel like I'm still eatin too much on my meal but I was happy when I got on the sale this morning to see its going down. Original weight the day I went in was 235 (my sale said 238-240) Pre op was two-three days into my pre op diet (the 24th) and I weighed at 236. But I forgot to weigh at home. This morning my scale at home said 224.5 and when I checked to make sure that was right it said 223.5 Gives me some motivation that I'm doing something right

Preop/5 hour energy?
I decided against it because if I was worried about it I probably shouldn't have it... But the next time I would want one would be my two days of no food at all so when I ask ill ask for after the band
-
Preop/5 hour energy?
I'm allowed coffee I just choose not too because the way I like it is with creamer and basically a sweet coffee... 5 hour energy only has 4 calories but I can't find a carb count on it :/ which is what worries me
-
Preop/5 hour energy?
Can I have a 5 hour energy?? Surgery is the 7th but I work multiple jobs and new diet and no monster and coffee every other hour is taking its toll! I need help getting through the night :/

May Surgery Dates???
Honestly one of the girls I work with had a real bad time at first (can't help thinking it was partially on her but..) she was back in the hospital shortly after she got the band for 5 or more days for not being able to hold anything down and fevers She is fine now thankfully Also reading on here is seems ports tipping is far more common than they made it seem. ...and I'm not sure if its considered cheating on the preop because I wasn't planned but I was making dinner and ate about three spoon fulls of pasta before thinking "oh crap no no no" and stopping... So I'm a slight bit worried that will mess it up for the preop.. I'm calling my doctor today about it but overall I'm a worrier so my worrying is completely normal

May 7th banding houston tx

Go day
- May banders!
I hope all goes well for you too and it would be great to keep in touch on your journey as well- self-pay question
Try going through a credit union that's what I did.. Didn't even attempt true results or carecredit. The bank gave me a better interest rate - May banders!
