Sorry if this grosses you out
The runs is not dumping. Still it is normal, especially before you are on solids. If it continues past solids and is happening most of the time (rather than rarely), talk to your doctor. It could be something you are eating that is not agreeing with you, it could be gall bladder issues, or could be just one of those things.

Damage to Sleeve
There is a whole forum for band to sleeve revisions here. I am sure you will find a lot of helpful feedback there.

Anyone else from the lovely city of Fresno?
You might have better luck posting in the California thread in the Local Gastric Sleeve support forum, or under the Surgeons and Hospitals forum. Let me know if you would like me to move this thread to one of those for you. You can also search the forums for Fresno. Good luck!

Has anyone had abdominal surgery prior to the sleeve
I had several laparoscopic procedures before the sleeve, including hysterectomy and laparotomy (not in that order).

Oh my taste buds and all foods new again- best foods to start with?
Check out the "staple food" threads in the sticky section of this very forum. If you are using the app you will see a "Stickies" tab at the top of the forum. If you are in the website they are the threads that are always at the top. There is one for soft food. Please add ideas there when you find what is working for you.

4 Things I Wish I Would've Known Pre Op
Most people have a very easy recovery. Check this thread out: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/218686-anyone-have-a-relatively-easy-recovery-story/

Here's something I hadn't considered
I love spicy food and eat it all the time with no ill effects. Laksa is mild as milk compared to some of the food I eat.

Adventures in shapers
I have tried the high pants and the tank top type and they always roll at the waist. I haven't tried lately and I probably wouldn't invest in the body suit type until I get to goal because I guess I will just shrink out of it and they are so expensive! I think if I could get my panni (not panini, iPad) under control I would lose two pants sizes. I really hope the panni will continue to deflate and will just be empty skin at some point.

Here's something I hadn't considered
I love laksa. I eat the prawns and fish, some veggies, a noodle or two, and a couple slurps of the soup. No problems. Except the amount that gets left behind. But I care less about that as time goes on. Tom yum and other Thai soups are big favorites too.

Kinda worried. .. I can eat too much
You probably can't eat a lot of dense Protein. Most of us can eat a lot of certain foods. I ate 1300 calories today. How? Normal Breakfast, morning snack, and lunch. Ice cream twice, and (half) a small burger and (1/4 of) a small fries for dinner. It wasn't a normal day, I own all the choices, I walked like crazy and I logged it all. Capacity differs by meal, day, time of day, mood, what you have been doing, the shape and size of your sleeve, etc. don't constantly test your limits. Follow the rules most of the time. At the same time, you won't ruin your sleeve with a meal or a day of less than stellar choices.

what kind of scale do you have?
I got the aria scale for Christmas and love it. There are other "smart scales" too like the Withings one. But if you already have the Fitbit it makes sense. I love that it can recognize who is on the scale and that it does body fat percentage. It also removes the urge to weigh multiple times a day because then it will update the website and MyFitnessPal multiple times a day and everyone will know how neurotic I am. LOL

I never thought I'd say this, but..
I know what you mean, Seela. Recycled, sorry but don't generalize. I for one hate being ogled unless it's by my husband.

There is an existing thread for Arizona Sleevers just a few threads down the page at http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/263298-any-az-sleevers/. Would you like to merge this one with that one?

Not getting enough calories or protein!
Can you have some cottage cheese or Greek yogurt? Have you tried different shakes? Lots of people seem to love the Premier Protein for 30 grams a serving. If you like coffee you can use the Chike or Click shakes. There is also syntrax which has some fruity flavors. How about baby bel cheese? Or laughing cow? If you are getting so few calories, don't worry about fat.

Effects of calcium on iron absorption
That study is assuming you get most of your calcium from your diet. It is looking at how and whether eating calcium-rich foods with iron-rich foods reduces iron absorption. Most people don't need to supplement calcium. We do and it helps to know not to take your pills right after eating iron-rich foods.

Protein Powders Drinks etc Aussies only

Effects of calcium on iron absorption
"The balance of evidence thus clearly indicates that Calcium in amounts present in many meals inhibits the absorption of both heme and nonheme Iron. A practical conclusion is that those with high iron requirements (eg, adolescents and menstruating and pregnant women) should try to restrict calcium intake with main meals, which contain most of the dietary iron, and that calcium supplements, when needed, should preferably be taken when going to bed." http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/68/1/3.full.pdf

Question about shakes!
liquids only stay in your stomach about 5 minutes. It's normal to be able to drink the full 8 ounces at 4 weeks out. At 8 months out I can finish an 8 ounce shake in about 3 minutes or less. After you are on solid food, a shake will work better as a snack than a meal. They are great for Breakfast if you aren't a big breakfast eater.

Reading List
Do you mean Good Calories, Bad Calories?

Reading List
The Emotional First + Aid Kit: A Practical Guide to Life After Bariatric Surgery, Second Edition http://www.amazon.com/dp/0976852659/ This is such a good book. Every pre-op for any kind of bariatric surgery should read it, in my opinion. I read it pre-op and I'm re-reading it 8 months post-op. I might just read it once a year. It is available as paperback or ebook. What would you add to a recommended reading list? We can pin this thread if there is interest.

oh oh oh guess what!
If you need a thread deleted, go to the forum it is in, look down at the bottom (in the website, not the app), and look for the list of forum hosts. Send one of them a Private message (PM) asking then to delete the thread. You can also ask for the title to be changed or for your thread to be merged into another one. I'm not a host on the forum where you posted this or I would fix it up for you.
