when can I get back to work
I feel real bloated too. It's all I can do to get down my 4 Protein drinks and some broth, it might be 40 oz. Other than that I'm doing OK, not in to much pain mostly sore. Hurts most at the port site. Hope you'll do OK with your recovery. Stephanie

Vitamins (or "horse pills")
If you don't want to waste the pills is it OK to cut them up into smaller pieces? I bought a liquid form and it taste awful, but I'm sucking it up because I don't want to waste it. LOL They cost a lot. But they are baaaad, so be careful what you buy, get samples if you can. Bariactric Advantage.com has sample packs you can buy I believe. ~~~Stephanie

You guys are going to be upset with me but lesson learned.
I just had my surgery yesterday. Will be sure to take it easy after reading your blog. But it does seem a little strange your incision would leak after 4 weeks. Keep an eye on that like Scorpio said. ~~~Stephanie

Oh....Hello appetite....Now go AWAY!!
How much Protein is in you Protein Shakes? Mine has 23 grams per 8 oz, so I can have 4 glasses a day and get my protein in. It is the only thing that gets me through the day and I'm not weak or tired. I'm on liquids only right now. Still have head cravings for food though, but not bad. I've got that stupid shoulder pain also. How long have you had yours? I hope mine goes away soon. Good luck ~~~Stephanie

Water....
I started drinking my Water today(I had surgery yesterday) and it seems to be making more gas and gas pains, every time I take a drink I get a real big full feeling then gurgling then gas and pains. Are my sips to big? Or is this just normal? Is it helping relieve the gas? Can this just be a coincidence? ~~~Stephanie

Thirsdays the day, sad...
I have to agree with the above posters, especially Cazzy. Maybe postpone the wedding till you now for sure he is right for you, and you have time to lose some weight, you may feel differently about yourself. Losing weight can change a person a lot,you never know how you may feel down the road. Does he do this all the time, that could be a pattern for the future? Sorry. Good luck with your surgery, I just had mine yesterday. ~~~Stephanie

Yea, I just had surgery yesterday and I couldn't see myself going back to work tomorrow, even at a desk job. Maybe 5 or 6 days, at a desk job. But everybody's different too. ~~~Stephanie

I'm back...
Well the surgery went well. I'm at home now, I've been sleeping for an hour and then walking around and then I lay back down for an hour and so on . I had a small hernia that needed repairing, so my doc fixed that. So I guess I'm a little bit more sore than I would have been without the repair. I have pain in my left shoulder which I was prepared for and of course some gas. It did not seem to effect my appetite, I'm hungry, but all I can have is liquids, I do seem to get full faster even on the liquids. The pain does not seem to be to severe so that is good. I am tired though. So I just wanted to touch base with you all. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. I'm going to go for now. Thanks for being there you all. ~~~Stephanie

They gave me something like Valium before they put me to sleep. If you tell them your really nervous they will usually give you something. ~~~Stephanie

Band vs sleeve??
I chose it because it was less invasive and I could have it removed if there was a problem. I did not like the problems with the sleeve and did not want my stomach cut on. Plus hopefully by the time I might have to have a revision they may know more than they know now, or for instance placations may be covered by insurance, and my Dr. recommended it. Can't tell you how it's been I'm getting banded in the morning. Good luck with your decision. ~~~Stephanie

Suger Free Gum During Pre Op
I've been chewing gum on my Pre-op, but I think the best person to answer that is probably your Doc. Every Doc is different. I can't see why there would be a problem though. My Doc did not personally have a problem. ~~~Stephanie

Protein Shakes
Barictric Advantage you can find it on their site Bariaric Advantage.com. It is a Meal Replacement shake and it really does work. It is under Meal Replacements ,not Protein. They taste good too. ~~~Stephanie

fitness and exercise
My bariactric nurse recommended compression garments she gave us a website I think you wear it while your losing weight. It's suppose to help with not having the need for plastic surgery. But i think it would still depend on how much you lose and how much extra skin is left. But here is the website isavela.com. I have not tried this personally so I can't tell you if it works. I might try it though.

24 hrs....
The anesthesia or something makes your mouth and lips real dry. Some hospitals give it out to you when you get to your room like they do the Water pitcher and cup. My hospital that I'm going to does not. It helps so much with your lips. Thanks for your support. BTW Have you had your surgery yet? ~~~Stephanie
-
Insurance
That sounds weird, I guess you would have to talk to your insurance company. I did not think a hospital would allow a surgery without approval or a payment from you or something. Good luck ~~~Stephanie

When is it ok to run
