  1. It sure is. I'm sorry you had to go thru so much but it sounds like it was so worth it. Good luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I was revised from band to sleeve in one surgery on 1/23. My surgeon said there was a lot of scar tissue but everything has been fine so far. Maybe it depends on the Dr. My dr is the chief of bariatric surgery at a hospital and I do trust him. I did not want two surgeries but in case you have too, I really felt all my pain from the port removal. Anyone that I have spoken to that has had sleeve only said they felt great the next day and could return to work within a week. Hope this helps. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Hi. I had the revision from band to sleeve on 1/23 also. So glad I did it. No pain from sleeve only from where the port was removed. Just started the purée stage and feeling better every day. Down 12 pounds since 1/23. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I just started puréed but I feel your pain. It was awful. I was so hungry and just wanted to chew and crunch. Found out I could have sugar/fat free fudgicles and that was my savior. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Thank you so much! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Hi. I was sleeved the same day as you. I am very week. I also had my lap band and port removed the same day so I am very sore. I'm tired of tv especially the food commercials. I'm so afraid of drinking too much or not enough. I wish a bariatric nurse could come home with us. I am probably getting about 40 grams of Protein in from Isopure drinks. I am hoping that once we start puréed we will feel stronger. Take care. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm hanging in there. A good amount of pain from the port area and wanted purees but just a few more days. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I had lap band removal and sleeve surgery on Monday. I came home Wednesday. My greatest source of pain is from the removal of the port. My greatest struggle right now is being on liquids. I don't quite know how I can go until Tuesday. Once I reach Tuesday I am on puréed for 5 weeks. Would love some typical menus that fellow sleevers are using. Thank you! 9. I had my band removed Monday and revised to sleeve in one surgery. My surgeon said my greatest source of pain would be the port area and he was right. The pain was awful and only starting to ease a bit. I wish I had done the sleeve 3 years ago instead of band. Can't even feel the sleeve incisions. I hate to complain because I know this was all my decision but I don't how everyone handles the liquids only diet so well. I don't start puréed until Tuesday and I'm so hungry. I need some advice and support. I don't know how I will last five weeks on puréed. Thank you.
  10. I was banded on July 1. Just had my first fill today. I have a 10cc band and he put in two Ccs. He was very pleased that I had already lost 24 pounds without a fill. I go back in a month.
  11. I had my surgery three weeks ago today. No pre op diet. The first week I lost ten pounds. The second week one pound and the scale has not budged. I am on solids now but I stick mostly to fish, egg whites, beans. I mean I have changed my eating dramatically and gave up drinking around 6 diet cokes a day. I really thought I would see more of a loss. I just started exercising today so maybe that will help. Last night I had my first "stuck" episode and threw up. My own fault. Had one small square of pizza which was fine but after almost finishing the second, that did it. In a way I am glad that it happened as it was starting to feel like I was never banded. Is this lack of weight loss normal? Is it due to lack of exercise or is it because I still have so much stored fat?
  12. I was banded on July 1. No pre op diet. Have lost 11 pounds and scale has not budged in days. Not sure if I'm eating enough and that's why I'm not losing. I see the nut tomorrow so we shall see. I also need to start exercising! Feeling good though and happy that I'm banded!
  13. I am ten days post op and have lost nine pounds! Loving every minute of it. Last week I thought I made the biggest mistake of my life but this week is much better! Surgery, pain and too many liquids were the cause but it gets better every day. I love this forum also. It has been a great source of comfort.
  14. I agree with mis. I am post op and just finished my 7 days if shots. Twice daily. They are really tiny. I bruised a bit but it was no problem.
  15. I was banded on the first also and could never have hone back today. Way too tired plus I had an infection. I go back to the drs tomorrow for my post op appt but I don't anticipate being back at work before the 15th. Listen to your body.
  16. Please call your surgeon and let us know how you make out. I am so sorry you are in such pain. I was banded on July 1 and its been a tough week. Ended up with an infection at the port site and that has set me back. The antibiotic has me in the bathroom all the time and I am worried about dehydration. You really need to check in with your doc or see if they can get a nurse out to see you. I have one come three times already and the insurance pays. Good luck. Donna
  17. It's been better every day. I still cannot sleep on my side. The port incision still hurts especially after the infection. How long does it usually take to sleep on your side again? Also do I think if I took pain meds at night that it would help with that? Thank you for listening!
  18. I found the chocolate Atkins to be the best so far.
  19. I know! I was banded Monday. Really struggling. Tired of liquids. I want to taste real food. I hope I make it to the mushy stage. Stay strong. We will get thru this.
  20. Thank you. That does sound yummy!
  21. All the best to you! Congratulations. Keep us posted on your progress. I was banded on July 1. Donna
  22. I too was banded on Monday. The pain is not bad at all except when I try to get up or bend down. My problem is that I am so sick of water, broth, jello and protein shakes. I want food soooo bad. Even just a taste. I don't know how I am going to last like this until Monday. Please tell me I'm not alone. I know I am probably being a wimp. I had an infection at my port site yesterday and when I went to the doctors I told him that my Heros are those that did a two week pre op diet of liquids too. Food is consuming my thoughts right now.
  23. Good for you! I am day 3 post up. Miserable. Tired. Headache. Sore. Just came back from doctors and have an infection. He had to squeeze all the bad stuff out. Pain was awful. Now I will start antibiotics. I am surprised I have not thrown up yet from all these liquids. Oh I hope I have done the right thing. It's so clear how much my life totally revolved around food. I don't know if I can last the week without food. How did you all do it especially those that had a pre op diet also.
