  1. Guess who bashed my band. It was my primary doctor. She wanted me to be sleeved or have bypass. Why you say? Because none of her banded patients ever lost more than 40 lbs. Well I needed to lose at least 100 lbs. and I got banded anyway. I wanted less invasive and that's what I had. And guess what....I've lost 126 lbs. and....I am now smaller than the doctor. Sweeeet!!

LOVE IT!!!! The first surgeon I had a consult with told me he would only do the RNY on me. I found a different surgeon. I've been successful, too! Not goal weight yet, but I'm still losing. To those people and Doctors who think if you have a 100 or more pounds to lose can only do sleeve or bypass to be successful, I call BS...It can be done. Look at all the people on this site!!

  2. I totally agree. The band takes work and commitment and there are those of us who can be successful. It really makes me uber cranky when I see other bandsters being disrespected. I'm going to start a new campaign called, "Stop the Band Bashing". People come to the site for encouragement, knowledge and just to share their experiences. They don't post stuff to be judged! Just my two cents!

  3. Welcome to the site! And congrats on your surgery date! You must be super excited. You're going to be dancing and doing all the things that your weight has held you back from...soon! Enjoy your journey!!

So nice...what a good time. I know about flying...what a great feeling for you.Dancing...i haven't danced for years!! Looking forward to that!

  4. I just wanted to let you know that I'm new, only been sleeved for about a month but reading your entry was very significant to me because those are the exact proportions I want to lose. I want to be a size 16 but I'm currently a 24 but I'm focused. Thanks for sharing!

I'm glad that the gibberish I write in my blogs can be relatable to others who have gone through WLS. Change is hard, but empower yourself. Make your goal your mantra. You got this!

Keep me updated on your progress. :)

  5. There are some crazy people out there. Wait, I might be the weird one! We're all "special" in our own way, I just think some people don't have common sense. Thanks for reading my blog.

The internet seems to bring out all of the Negative Nellies. Most people, (unless they follow a forum like us) don't think of posting success on the internet. Really, the band has to work the majority of the time and not have a huge complication rate or insurance companies would not be paying for it. They are all about the bottom line. Thankfully, smart people like you and me can read between the lines and not believe everything we watch or read. I figure the people who don't realize that, may be the people who wouldn't be very successful with WLS anyway. Good blog!

  6. Thank you for the words of encouragement, JennieDK. Still talking with Detectives all day trying to get things taken care of. I really just want her to come home, but I guess this is part of growing up. Handling all this stuff on her own. I've always been overprotective and then BAM! something like this happens. SMH

  7. Hey stranger! This new site is crazy! Congrats on your good bye to size 20W. I'm down from a 26 to a 22W so I'm stoked too! It's an awesome feeling to see results in our bodies changing and not just the scale moving. I'm trying to move up my third fill to get some restriction for Thanksgiving... don't want to gain.

Hope things are going good for you. It sounds like they are! :)
