I need help....
I have over 200 pounds to lose. I haven't posted here in a long time because I am embarrassed. A little history on me: I had my surgery on 12/19/07. At first I lost about 15 pounds. Now however, I am back to what I was before surgery. I have been gaining and losing the same 10 pounds over the last 9 months. My surgeon said my band is "almost too tight". Nothing is wrong with my band. The problem is me. I have wanted to lose weight for a very long time. I made the decision to get lap-band with the dream of reaching my goal. 9 months with the band I feel that I am a lost cause. I have even considered getting the bypass surgery. But, I know that will not work because my issues are all in my head. I use food for comfort. My question is, how do I just do it? Fight the head issues, and just use my "tool" to help me lose weight...

Almost 7 months out...no weight loss

Almost 7 months out...no weight loss
Snowbird, I don't PB much anymore. You would think I would if you saw how much restiction I have. The doctor was amazed that I don't even have reflux. I don't drink high calorie drinks. I don't drink any type of soft drink. I drink tea, milk, orange juice, and coffee every now and then.

Almost 7 months out...no weight loss
Thanks for responding. Yes, I am in counseling. It does help with some of the emotional issues. I don't like the idea of diet pills either. I am going to make an appointment with the dietitian. Hopefully she can help me.

Almost 7 months out...no weight loss
I am very discouraged. I just got back from seeing my surgeon. The results of my upper GI show that everything with my band looks good. The placement is great. He even said that I may be too tight. I looked at the xrays and the amount of liquid going down looks like the width of thread. So, I have restriction. That is not the problem. So, what is the problem? Me. I am the problem. I drink while I eat. I eat too much. I eat the wrong foods. I haven't been exercising. So not losing any weight is all my fault. A part of me wanted it to be the bands fault. I guess so I could have an excuse of why the weight is not coming off. But, now I don't have an excuse. I still stuff my face with food. Even if I am not hungry, I eat. I can eat anything and it all goes down fine. If I feel like I might be getting stuck, I drink. I have learned how to eat around my band. I have about 250 pounds to lose.....and I don't know what to do anymore. Amy

I am going to be honest ....
Thanks to everyone that has responded. I went to my doctor Thursday. I received a small fill. I now have 8.4ccs in my 10cc band. I gained 1 pound since my last visit a month ago. That was a little upsetting. But, I am not letting that get me down. My doctor wants me to write down everything I eat and turn it in to her in 3 weeks. I need to start being accountable for what I put in my mouth. Losing weight is a process. I will reach my big goal by reaching one small goal at a time.

I am going to be honest ....
Thank all of you for responding to my post. I am so glad to be a part of this forum for support. I am struggling. I am scared. I feel like a failure. But, deep down I know I can do this...and that gives me hope. I am now worried that I have done damage to my band or expanded my stomach. I am going to my doctor tomorrow morning. I am going to tell her the truth about what I have been putting in my mouth. Thank you all again for responding and the support you have given me.

I am going to be honest ....
I had surgery 12/19/07. I currently have 8ccs in my 10cc band. I am scheduled for another fill Thursday. I have good restriction. So, what is the problem?? I am still about the same weight I was the day of surgery! I feel like I am trying to fight my band. Most of the time I eat healthly. But a few times a week I get ice cream (700+ calories) and frozen coffees (300+ calories). I paid for this surgery to help me lose weight. But, I am just eating around it. The "bad" stuff goes down easy. I keep saying I am going to start walking. That hasn't happened yet. What the heck is wrong with me???? I went into having this surgery with 100% motivation. Now, I am at 0%. I have all the tools I need to lose weight: my band and a great support network. I know what I need to do, but I just haven't done it yet. I feel like a failure. I look at other December bandsters, and see that yall have lost tons of weight. How do I mentally get on the roll with my band???
