  1. Let's start with the "yay!": I weighed in this morning at 248.2!!! I have been dying to get under 250 for about 4 months so that was so exciting! Now, to the nay : Will I ever learn not to eat in the morning, especially gulping it down???! Not feeling well this morning due to migraine issues (I'm blaming it on the tropical mess), I drove through Starbucks to get a tea. Then, I see that they have new menu items, one being a whole wheat spinach deliciousness. I order it which probably would have been fine if I ate normally but, no, I inhaled it (probably since I hadn't eaten much in the last 24 hours due to said migraines). I get to work and spend 15 minutes regurgitating (lovely since the whole office can hear) and get sent home. Now, I'm lying in bed nursing my tea and kicking myself for doing this again. I know it's a learning process but I'm usually a quick study and I am frustrated with myself! Oh well, I am going to just bask in being under 250 pounds!
  2. My insurance approved me based on a history of five years with BMI of 40+ (no co/morbidities). However, one of those years my BMI was under 40. My dr submitted anyway and I was approved. Guess it just depends on the insurance company.
  3. Yeah, the "poor" guy had to move to the comfy sofa! Lol
  4. My cat likes to curl up on my lap and use my soft belly as a pillow (and to knead). Lately I've noticed he's been having trouble getting comfortable because there is less of a belly! He's kind of a runt but can put his arms around my waist now, lol. Even my mom noticed when she visited last week. This was not something I thought about 50 pounds ago, but I'm not complaining!

  6. Please don't avoid your dr because of embarrassment! My surgeon and his office are so incredibly helpful. I went in after gaining a few pounds after 4 months and two fills and he was so supportive. He wants me to succeed, and I'm sure yours does too. Also, I completely understand about time and money. Those are my obstacles when it comes to exercising. I just try to do the littlest things instead - parking far away, walking instead of driving, etc. If you start thinking positively about small changes, it will help in the long run! Best wishes

  8. Sorry to hijack but I have to ask: your port was removed but not the band? Does this mean no more fills? I haven't heard of this - very curious! Back to thread- I have trouble grazing as well. I do my best to do what Missy does, keep trigger food out of the house!

  10. I burp all the time after eating now! It's so annoying
  11. Heartburn is the number one "signal" to my dr that I'm too tight. It may be different with your dr but I would mention it. It's better to have a small amount removed than hurting yourself or the band. Best wishes
  12. You sound exactly like me before my last fill (#4). I told my surgeon I wanted to be aggressive so he put in 1cc. That made a HUGE difference! In 3 weeks, I lost nearly 10 pounds! But, I was a little uncomfortable so he removed 0.1cc. Now I think I'm in the green (or nearly there). My advice: talk to your doc, and have as many fills as you need. Best wishes
  13. I'm with everyone else : pillows! I was so propped up with pillows behind me and on my side, it was ridiculous. But, it was the only way I could sleep. I slept only a few hours at a time. For me, it took between 4-5 days to sleep "regular" again. It will take some time but you'll be back to sleeping normally again soon. Best wishes!
  14. **Update: I went back to surgeon today, three weeks after my aggressive fill. I had lost nearly 10 pounds in 3 weeks! However, I had him remove 0.1 cc because I was still feeling some discomfort. I am really happy, and think I'm extremely close to the green zone!
  15. That's amazing! Congratulations :-)
  16. I hear ya! I want to wear sexy lingerie just ONCE without rolls hanging everywhere!
  17. Thank you both. I spoke to my patient advocate last week but I am definitely going in on Monday to have some removed.
  18. It's been two weeks since my aggressive fourth fill. I'm uncomfortable but I thought it might be just readjustment. But, now I feel discomfort with liquids sometimes. I'm scared to eat because I'm not sure how I will handle it. I've regurgitated a few times and I belch a lot. However, no heartburn, nausea or vomiting. I know I've lost weight but don't think it's worth it. Is it bad to have some saline removed because I can't quite handle it yet? It seems like a dumb question but I was so ready for restriction ... I guess be careful what you wish for?
  19. Thanks everyone! I can get a discounted rate at the Y plus get reimbursed $150 from insurance. Unfortunately my small town doesn't have a lot of gym options!
  20. I just saw something online about that. Thanks!
  21. I know all plans are different but I'm curious if anyone has an insurance plan that helps out with gym memberships? I have BCBSNC, and can't look through my plan right now. It makes sense to me that plans would cover (either fully or partially) memberships but I've never thought to check.
