I am sooo glad to read this.
The goal is to lose weight, but being human with cravings is difficult. I am only Day 8 wanting a Breakfast panini with bacon. Didn't have one but maybe by month 2+, I can have a 1/3 of one?!

I am 2 months out and had a grilled cheese sandwich last night and didn't have a problem....I was scared I would though as it was the 1st bread I've had also other than a very little bite here and there. Maybe you just ate it too fast, or too much?? I'd try again in a few weeks and just eat slower and less and see if you have better tolerance.

I am a week away from being 3 months Post-op. I have stuck to my NUT recommendations pretty closely. Today I was immersed in homework. Before I realized it 3pm & I hadn't eaten anything & I didn't have anything in the house. I decided to order a salad to be delivered from my local Italian place. Last minute I added on garlic bread with mozzarella & a side of sauce. My delivery came. I put the salad in the fridge & went to town on the garlic bread. This is the 1st time that I've had bread since surgery. I ate 4 pieces of bread dipped in sauce. I immediately felt like my sleeve was super tight & yucky so, I tried to drink a few sips of Water. It was like I could feel the water sitting in my chest. Shortly after I threw up, but a very small amount. My sleeve still feels horrible & so do I. Never again!

I think the best deterrent is the back lash we get from our new tummies! Like my dr told me...if it hurts..don't do it again! Simple, but true! Just get back on target & you'll be fine, we all give in to our weaknesses every once in awhile!

Well here it is. I'm so embarrassed by my before photo smh, but that was me. All 330 lbs of me. Yikes!! My highest was 346 lbs at the start of this journey, but I lost 16 lbs pre op and 134 lbs post op and still going.
330 lbs day of surgery 196 lbs

I'm the same way! I want to eat and things look and smell good to me but my tummy says NO WAY!!!! Grrrrrrr!!!!

Yes my dear!! That is what we call "head hunger"
Your body doesn't necessarily need the food, but that pesky brain is saying eat!
It will get better as time goes on

Awesome! I am 2 yrs out on March 1st I was 237 and 5ft even! So glad to meet someone who was exactly my height and about my weight CONGRATZ

Thanks for taking the time to post an update. If my stomach looks like that when I reach my goal, I'll be very happy.

Hi y'all new update may will be three years. I did get boobs lol I still feel great energy out this world. Still can't use to hearing. Skinny But maybe one day hope this helps y'all I went from 240. 5 tall or short if u want. To 120 5 woman so if ur on one of those day of dang. Keep pushing thru its all worth is

Ouch...I would definitely call your doc. I had the opposite problem, I had to go so bad I couldn't stand myself....but couldn't. No catheter either, so it was up to me....but I couldn't let go. I was told that is not unusual after abdominal surgeries. It cleared up by day 2, but that was an unpleasant 24 hours.

Did your dr specifically say no catheter was used? And I agree the snipping isn't anywhere near urine anatomy. If not cateter related could be anesthesia related and will return over time. But drs know best!

Are you sure no catheter was used.....they sometimes put it in after you're out, and remove it before you wake. Especially with guys since it hurts them a little more....got to go a bit further down the tube so to speak. I had to give a poor old man a catheter one time that had a bad rash from peeing on himself and the poor guy was in so much pain we had to hold him down to keep putting it in. Thought I would never get it in all the way. As for the incisions, and snipping, I am positive they were no where near your beloved parts.
The problem with feeling them may also stem from your blood pressure. It may be a little lower now and you may need some time to recover in that department. There are meds to help, but I'm pretty sure in a few days to weeks you won't need anything to help in that department anymore.

Codiene/opiate based pain relievers numb the bladder. They are usually discontinued and the person will see improvement within a few days.
I hope this is the case with you.
Read the pamphlet for all medications you are on... If it says not for people with kidney problems or difficulty urinating then that medicine is most likely your culprit.
You could call your pharmacist as well. They are well educated on side effects.

I still never feel like I have to go and I'm a year out. I wonder if with the stomach moved if there is less pressure.

Those nerves are no where near where they did any snipping. I think it probably has to do with the catheter. Maybe an infection and inflammation is causing loss of feeling. I'm sure that it will resolve itself soon, but it is a good idea to address this issue with your surgeon. Good luck!

Uh oh. Well good luck, here's hoping it's nothing!

I felt like that for a while after they took my catheter out. Which explains why an hour afterwards I dry heaved and majorly peed myself. 5 days after seems like a while, though. Are you still taking a lot of medication?
